  1. Back before they widened the non-carpeted areas of the Lido, they were maybe half hard surface and half carpet so definitely better at buffering noise (ex - we don't ever remember hearing noise under Canaletto on Amsterdam, last time we sailed her was 2019). Anyway, unfortunately there is a good portion of the Neptunes that are under Canaletto that are now exposed to more non-carpeted areas so we heard those darn carts quite a bit. DH thinks they should switch all the carts on all the ships to soft balloon-type tires to help but doubt that will ever happen.
  2. Hi, Jacqui - We were under Canaletto in 7033 on Zaandam last year, thinking the carpet would buffer the cart noise, but alas, it did not. BTW, if I'm not mistaken, 7032 isn't under Canaletto. Enjoy your cruise! Barb
  3. Can anyone weigh on Neptune Suites THAT YOU"VE ACTUALLY STAYED IN (as opposed to guessing based on the deck plan) that avoids the majority of rolling cart and scraping chair noise from above?
  4. Good morning, Miss R! Yes, it looks that way. We are now showing Group A @ 10:20 which is what we were in December. So when we walk across the street from Springhill Suites, can we just go straight to the gate, show our boarding pass which, in addition to Group/Time also shows Priority Boarding on it, walk through to drop our bags and then enter the terminal or do we still have to line up in front of the building? Thx. Barb
  5. Just spent 39 days on K'dam - the coffee machines in the Lido are Melitta so I assume that's the brand of coffee they are brewing but that's just a guess. Whatever beans they're using, we both thought it tasted much better than on past HAL cruises.
  6. Updated WiFi Pricing List (as of 1-7-24) Currently on K’dam. Was told that the only person onboard who has the coveted WiFi pricing list (to buy once onboard) is the future cruise consultant. Seemed unlikely but I asked anyway and voila!! He made me a copy. 😘 (apologies for not knowing how to rotate a photo on my iPad) @Crew News Roger, feel free to update the list on your website Remember, 5* Mariners save $30 off these prices.
  7. Following up to my original post - talked to Gary at Mariner Society this morning. He said that yes, we can prepay for internet, then once onboard have Guest Services credit the $30 (Mariner 5*) discount to our onboard account.
  8. Does anyone have a current price list that includes Surf package pricing? Is the Mariner discount prorated based on the price of the package one buys?
  9. Thanks, Rich. Do you concur that prepaying is a better deal than the 5* discount? (this is for an 11 night cruise) Hope all is well with you! What's up next in your travels? Barb
  10. If I prepay for wifi now to get the 20% discount that shows on the website when I log in, if I go to Guest Services once onboard will they credit the $30 5* Mariner discount to our account?
  11. Not mine. The original is actually an animated gif which works when you use it in an email.
  12. Wish we could have cleared the waitlist to join you on this one but look forward to meeting you on the 16th.
  13. Log into your cruise, then go to Beverages and click on Wine Packages. They show up there on all our upcoming cruises clear into 2025. Cheers!
  14. @NancyDrew1953 We were originally booked to do Athens to Singapore but cancelled earlier this summer, and now we're really glad we did. So which Egypt port did they cancel?
  15. We received notification last night regarding the November 2024 Grand Africa cruise. We were actually surprised that Seabourn made this decision over a year out but would rather know sooner than later so good on you, Seabourn, for being proactive. So the email states that they have cancelled all calls to Israel for 2024. For this specific cruise, they have replaced the two Israel ports with stops in Antalya, Turkey and Limassol, Cyprus and as a bonus, added Chania, Crete. And while we would have preferred Israel, we're good with the changes, especially since we've never been to any of these specific places. Nothing mentioned about Jordan or Egypt so for now, game on.
  16. Why aren't Neptune Suites listed? They get priority check-in, too.
  17. Yes, it is and yes, we're booked for the full 90 day Grand Africa voyage. @Borna Are you booked on the full thing or just a segment?
  18. I was told when we put it on hold last week that Visas are taken care of. And this is from the website (under Book and receive, first line, to the right) ...
  19. actually the K’dam leaves on February 17th for the 35 day cruise, not the 18th
  20. Yes, it quite clearly shows on the confirmation what you would owe should you cancel once you've put a deposit on something. So for example, if we would have gone forward with B2B 8 night and 28 night bookings, the deposit would have been $25pp per segment but the penalty for cancelling outside of 120 days would be $100pp per segment (because the "regular" deposit would have been $100pp per segment). And had we booked it as one cruise for 36 nights, the deposit was still $25pp but the penalty for cancelling outside of 180 days would have been $1,000pp (because the "regular" deposit would have been $1,000pp). If you put down a deposit, you are agreeing to the T&C's, including penalties.
  21. @TayanaLorna We were just looking at summer of 2025 cruise(s) and were ready to put the $25pp deposit down, thinking that's all we'd be on the hook for but sadly, as you discovered, we would owe an additional $75pp for the shorter itineraries are an additional $975pp for 35+ day itineraries (which is what we were looking at). So for now, we wait on putting a deposit on anything. Viking's deposit and final payment policies are why we hesitate to book anything with them that's more than a few months out.
  22. I know this is a really old thread but here goes …. We’re considering booking the 90 day Africa on Sojourn next year. We haven’t been on Seabourn for 6+ years and i was just reviewing some of the policies, including the current smoking policy. I’m very sensitive to smoke and cannot believe they are allowing vaping/e-cigarette smoking in staterooms, and while I admit it’s not quite as bad as smelling cigarette smoke, it still bothers me. Question: are we likely to smell fumes in our stateroom from neighbors who are vaping?
  23. That does not sound right ... here's the current info from the website (literally just checked it), which matches what we all expect it to be: Seabourn Referral Program
  24. By any chance has anyone stayed in 3066? Curious if we will hear noise from the two restrooms below or smell fumes from the beauty salon. And finally, we’re considering a Longitudinal from Ushuaia to Milwaukee and wonder if being that far back we’ll likely feel more motion or vibration. Thx.
