  1. I can’t believe it will be time to check in for our cruise in only four days. So, a question here, if anyone knows. Our grandkids, as well as our daughter and her husband will be sailing with birth certificates. During check in, does a photocopy of any of the documents need to be uploaded to the app, much like it reads your passport information, or do they just indicate they are sailing with a BC? For our California grandson, we already have his original BC and a notarized RC form with his parent’s signature, authorizing us to take him. Our PA grandkids have their original BC and won’t need a form, since their parents are going along. My daughter and her husband have their original BC and their driver’s licenses for ID, and my daughter also has her marriage certificate for her name change. If I understand correctly, they just have to present this stuff at the pier. Anything else?
  2. I know we will be taking our son out for Father’s Day, but not sure where. Too bad they don’t have one of these here. This has been one of my favorite places. Of course, adding to my duck collection may have something to do with it.
  3. @Sea Dog Greg, just read back a few posts and saw you were going in for your MRI. Here is hoping you have good results.
  4. I am still trying to wrap my head around some of these crazy prices in California, since they created that high minimum wage for fast food workers. We ordered this for a lunch one day our grandson was home from school early. What a $37 pizza looks like. I was not impressed. Last night, we decided to order in five meals from Chick Fil A. Total cost for five chicken sandwiches, a drink and a side was $140. I don’t know how these places will keep in business.
  5. It has been a busy week, since arriving in California. We came early, so we could help our son with some things around his house. He was somewhat limited after his back surgery. Yesterday was the last day of school for our grandson, so we had a few days by ourselves to do the work. So far, we have painted living room, dining room, and hallway. New stain on deck, and power washed brick patio and pavers. So no, the fun has not started yet, but it will soon.
  6. If they were going to have a totally new show, I would think it would show up on their featured shows when doing casting calls. https://royalcaribbeanentertainment.com/productions/featured-shows/
  7. Yeah, I had my plan to book dining reservations, and the order I wanted to visit each park. That got blown up pretty quick, when good times for some of the places were already gone. We did get all the places booked where we wanted to eat, but now I have to revise our park order. Next will be trying to book those popular rides. At least we have the hopper every day.
  8. I feel like Johnny Cash today. I’ve been everywhere, man. Unique seating in a portion of the Denver airport. A use for old skis And then….. The Golden Gate Bridge disappears into the fog. I think that I have only seen clear skies around it a couple times, in all the trips we made here.
  9. Where are you staying pre cruise? We are on Utopia August 2 with our grandkids. Staying at the Holiday Inn Express.
  10. What a great birthday win. We will also be at Wilderness Lodge, but our stay is 8/5-8/12. I have going crazy with everything required for Disney planning. It used to be much easier.
  11. It will definitely be different, but it is good that you have a group along on your return to cruising. Wishing you a good cruise, and the start of many more.
  12. I don’t care that it is 6:40 am in Denver, I have been up for 8 hours, and this place should be open. 😁 Our first class meal this morning. Half hour flight delay for our SFO leg.
  13. Thank you! I don’t recall, but she will always take double wishes. I must have lucked out with the latest book. I put a hold on it this week, at our library. I went in to look for a book to take along, and about 10 minutes after I left, they texted and said the newest Grisham book was ready for pickup.
  14. Thank you for the birthday wishes for Susan, and have a great time in Hawaii. Still trying to talk our family into doing that for one of our Christmas/ New Tear holidays. An easy sell for our son, but a tougher one for our daughter, because of the long flight. Speaking of flights, my reading material for our trip to California tomorrow.
  15. We were both up early this morning to check in for our flight to San Francisco tomorrow. Boarding starts at 4:45 am! We really have to get up early for that.
  16. @Luckynana, @grapau27, @Sunshine3601 Thank you for the birthday wishes for Susan. We met our daughter and her family to have a nice dinner out. For our Flow Rider fans, I found a Flow Rider beer, so I had to give it a try. It had a fruity taste, similar to a Blue Moon. The kids gobbled up the naan bombs I had the Alright alright alright dish, which was a Thai crusted crispy chicken bowl with slaw, peppers, onions and noodles. It was very tasty. Our daughter brought along a small chocolate cake, so that was our desert. It was a nice little celebration.
  17. @Arzeena, @DaniDanielle, @dani negreanu Thank you all for the birthday wishes for Susan. We drove to a Strawberry Festival today, then we will meet our daughter and her family to celebrate, since yesterday was busy with other obligations. Nothing like a festival gyro. One of the favorites at this festival is Amish made donuts. The line was pretty long. I would have taken some photos, but the Amish don’t like photos taken. I swear their donuts are about a foot diameter, and they looked fantastic.
  18. oh no! Susan and I send you our deepest sympathy. We were glad to have met you on one of our previous cruises.
  19. We had our daughter’s two kids for the day, while she went to her appointment at Cleveland Clinic. The grandkids agreed to do whatever Susan wanted to do, because today was her birthday. We started out with breakfast out, then took them swimming at our health club. After a couple hours of swimming, it was time for lunch. We ended up here. Still working on that duck collection, and they were nice enough to bring a couple more for the kids.
