  1. Darn it, no fun anytime, but especially when you're on a long awaited cruise. Hope everyone experiencing any problems will get better ASAP! From the Australian Broadcasting article link below: SA Health says a cruise liner bound for Adelaide from Queensland is dealing with outbreaks of both COVID-19 and gastroenteritis. Key points: SA Health says a cruise ship heading to Adelaide is dealing with outbreaks of COVID and gastro SA Health has not confirmed how many people on board are infected SA is experiencing a rise in both gastro-related illnesses and COVID cases The Grand Princess β€” operated by Princess Cruises β€” is expected to arrive in Port Adelaide on Monday. Grand Princess passenger, Maureen Monk, said there was a lack of communication onboard that she believed created an "unsafe environment" for passengers. "The communication was not there at all, none of the guests really knew what was going on," she said. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-12/grand-princess-ship-adelaide-covid-19-gastroenteritis/103095704
  2. Here's wishing you good luck in your search! Your post reminded me of this song 😊 I hope you never lose your sense of wonder, You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger, May you never take one single breath for granted, God forbid love ever leave you empty handed, I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens, Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I hope you dance... I hope you dance...
  3. The NCL Escape docked in Bermuda today and is on port cam. They must have made it in just in time: https://www.portbermudawebcam.com
  4. I'm pretty sure I've had the Elemis "Revitalise-Me" products onboard. πŸ˜‰ (BTW I do use a lot of different Elemis products, and agree with above about QVC sales and checking the Elemis website because they do have specials, and you should even visit the Elemis shop on Amazon during their Prime Days sales for good deals. Oh and Ulta Beauty has travel sizes on facial products, not sure about shower gel.)
  5. Darn, I found a March/April 2000 Cruise Travel magazine but it only has the 2000 Spring/Summer schedules listed. Boo! Wish it had Fall/Winter so you could see your October 2000 sailing. πŸ™ƒ Note that it goes up to September - so close! https://archive.org/details/bub_gb_UDEDAAAAMBAJ/page/n53/mode/2up
  6. Cruisedeckplans has this picture of 6160 on her sister ship Apex that shows it pretty well. HTH! https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/ships/stateroom-details.php?ship=Celebrity-Apex&cabin=6160
  7. CC has a good article explaining this: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/could-you-be-bumped-from-your-next-cruise
  8. I bet those newbies mentioned above thought it was really something - if they have any sense of adventure it's great, or the worst thing ever if not (or if sea sick)😁
  9. Wishing good luck to them. I hope they make it back home quickly. This article shows that one Mom has booked a flight from Tampa to be there with them. "Thursday, Ortega booked a flight out of TPA to help out in any way she could. She said, "I need my babies home. Please help me get them home. I don't care if I have to get a passport. I need them home. I need them home." https://www.fox13news.com/news/hit-and-run-cruise-excursion-crash-traps-2-tampa-women-in-mexico-i-need-my-babies-home Looks like Mom will have to apply for an "emergency" passport?
  10. His Dad has another take on the time last seen: "Sean says Kevin was sharing a room on the ship with his twin brother Andre. That was the last time he was seen. β€œHe said he heard the door open anywhere from 5-7 (a.m.) because it’s dark in the room, and can’t really tell the time,” Sean recalled. Kevin was supposed to meet his family for breakfast before the ship returned to Port Miami the next morning, but he never showed up. β€œWe went for breakfast at 7:30, and he didn’t show up," Sean told CBS12 News. "I asked his brother where he was, he said he didn’t come back to the room.” https://cbs12.com/news/local/kevin-mcgrath-missing-man-vanishes-on-cruise-ship-60th-birthday-carnival-conquest-cruise-ship-us-coast-guard-florida-september-7-2023
  11. I also saw several family reports (on the site we cannot link to) that adds another wrinkle to this - that his twin brother was the cabin mate. And this news article also mentions his twin in this part "Kevin was out the morning he went missing with his twin brother Andre". https://www.wpbf.com/article/florida-family-of-missing-port-st-lucie-man-last-seen-aboard-carnival-cruise-speaks-out/45029438# I have no idea if they are identical twins, etc., but does anyone know how facial recognition works with twins? I agree things are not looking good at this point and am hoping for a miracle. Thinking of what might have happened makes my heart sink.
  12. The Miami Dade PD flyer says he was in Conquest cabin 1326. That stateroom is an inside on Riviera Deck, so at least any thoughts that he might have jumped from his room balcony can be checked off (since there wasn't one) - but there's still so many other possibilities. I hope they were able to thoroughly search the ship before it left port again. It would have been nice to have plenty of time to do that but they were probably limited time-wise due to the turn around. I also don't understand the time difference where PD says last seen at 2:00 a.m. and then the sister says "We know that at 3:30 in the morning, he used the key card to get back in the room and anytime between then and 7:30 in the morning when he was supposed to meet my family for breakfast is when he went missing," his sister said. Did someone else use his card? https://www.wpbf.com/article/florida-family-of-missing-port-st-lucie-man-last-seen-aboard-carnival-cruise-speaks-out/45029438#
  13. Shows moving 5.4 kn now. Whew! I was following the Carnival Pride pod saga last week and hoped this problem would end quickly and happily. It's a win for the Escape! ETA speeding up - she's a go!
  14. Fingers crossed for all - I'll be watching for movement on the port cam 😁 https://www.portmiamiwebcam.com/
  15. The Three Degrees When will I see you again? When will we share precious moments? Will I have to wait forever? Will I have to suffer (suffer)And cry the whole night through? https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ls6N_pmM9TY So glad you're home and OK! 😁 We will be waiting for the next!
  16. I agree, not now - if HAL can do this, imagine what the other lines will see 😁 "Holland America Line bookings on July 11 were higher than on any day in the brand’s 150-year history, according to a statement from the Carnival Corporation brand. Booking revenues also broke the line’s single-day record. Most of the sailings booked July 11 were for 2024 and 2025, showing that cruisers are planning ahead and eager to travel, the company said." https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2023/07/holland-america-line-has-highest-booking-day-in-brands-history/
  17. Thank you Carol for the updates, with hugs to you especially because I know it can be so hard on the other person when their partner is ill. Please tell Norris we are all concerned about him, and when opening CC I know I can't be the only one who runs to this thread first for any Norris news (while praying it's good)!
  18. If it turns out to be a Perfect Day at Coco Cay instead I can understand why they'd add it - there's a lotsa $$$ to be made πŸ˜‰ The Cabana rentals for your visit there alone will bring in the big bucks. Depending on the location/type of cabana - and if there are any specials going on - count on starting at $400 - $1300 (Chill Island, South Beach, Oasis Lagoon), $700 - $1600 (Thrill Waterpark), $1200 - $2400 (Coco Beach Club), $1500 - $3850 (Coco Beach Club Overwater). If you're not already familiar with RCI's offerings there, here's a good primer on what's available and what costs extra with them (of course Celebrity mileage may vary): 30 Things to Know About Perfect Day at CocoCay Bahamas (2023) (cruisehive.com)
  19. It's 11:30 pm and she's finally heading to the turning basin 😁
  20. OMG I saw that too! I posted it over on the Floataway Lounge thread because it was so scary - the video shows how close it came to Mom and baby. They were so lucky that nothing bad happened (well, not so sure about the stroller)!
  21. You can always take home a carton of Philippe Faur's Foie de Canard/duck liver ice cream and pummel it! 😁
  22. Yoo Hoo life is always better when there's a new Norris GSJ on tap 😁
  23. Check this old thread from 2021 πŸ˜‰ It includes this post from @4hunters (BBM): "OP, I was in the exact same situation as you and same thing happened to me (CC denied due to a successful credit card dispute and eventually refunded by Carnival as well). Forgetting about that whole debacle from last year, I went ahead and booked using a different card with no problems. A few business days later my cruise was cancelled with no reason given (they sent me a canned email). I called to try and get an explanation. The customer service rep couldn't tell me why, only that there was a note in my file that I needed to contact Carnival's accounting dept. I did and was informed I was on the much famed "Do Not Sail" list! I was provided instructions for wiring Carnival the money for the cruise from last year and was immediately removed from the list (edit: AFTER my wired payment was received by CCL). I'm almost certain you're on the same list as I was. Recommend you call them and take care of it before trying to book anything with Carnival."
  24. Perryton TX was hit a little while ago (tornado). Saint Greg another question I forgot to ask if you don't mind - in your photos I did see some kids in the background. Any guess how many were on your sailing, and if they seemed to have plenty to do? Not for me, but asking for a friend with grandkids who's looking at longer sailings πŸ˜‰
