  1. I think you missed this - he did lose his original cabin. Though he doesn't say if the new one is better (or not). That could make a lot of difference in the "miffed" factor. 😉
  2. The Pope would be proud of you Saint Greg! Jesus? 😁
  3. If you were caught you might have had to walk the plank by Victor Borge "The Honorary Commodore of the Fleet" ! 😁
  4. I don't know what's going on with that, but if it makes you feel any better, I checked two different TA sites (I've used both before) and the 11/18/23 Apex sailing was still there and able to be booked. No suites though, those were showing sold out 😁 (Like this one - though I had to remove the TA name, pricing info, etc. based on the no TA advertising TOS on this site you can still see the date lol: Fingers crossed for you! Good luck and have a wonderful cruise!
  5. Yeah, I should have added that it wouldn't bother me - at all 😉 But then again, I'm not a good judge because I wouldn't even care about the slide cutting through the balcony on NCL's Prima 🙃
  6. I'm catching up on your wonderful report. It's lovely and so interesting! Thank you for taking the time and effort to give us really thorough info for our future trip planning, 😁 Sorry but I did have to chuckle at your "vomit" typo as it's exactly something that would happen to me! Damn autocorrect! 🙃
  7. I've experienced delays in boarding due to deep cleaning, but none in the middle of a cruise. It seems like HAL is being very serious about stopping any outbreak, which I would so appreciate if I was onboard. I have never experienced Noro while traveling but that must be terrible. 🫢 BTW The CDC is also investigating this Nieuw Amsterdam sailing 5/6 - 5/21: Cruise Line: Holland America Cruise Ship: Nieuw Amsterdam Voyage Dates: May 6–May 21, 2023 Voyage number: 539 Number of passengers who reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of passengers onboard: 160 of 1,970 (8.1%) Number of crew who reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of crew onboard: 26 of 816 (3.19%) Predominant symptoms: vomiting and diarrhea Causative agents: unknown https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/surv/outbreak/2023/Nieuw-Amsterdam_5-16.html
  8. Such a sad situation. I am always scared for the pilots when they make their transfers. "Nagasaki Port pilot fell in the water at ~5:30 Tokyo time (~20:30 UTC) on Friday, May 5th, while boarding Princess Cruises' Diamond Princess ship, which was about to enter Nagasaki (Japan). The 69-year-old man was reportedly rescued by Diamond Princess' rescue boat, but two hours later, unfortunately, was declared dead. The cruise ship docked at Nagasaki and left port the same day, bound for Yokohama."
  9. Have a wonderful cruise! 😁 (Make that A LOT jealous!)
  10. But remember they do have their own crew store onboard and can use any $ you would give to buy exactly what they want, like this one on RCI's Wonder of the Seas 😉
  11. Vessel Sanitation Program 😊 I like yours better LOL.
  12. I didn't see this posted yet, so here is the CDC info on the current Ruby cruise. Mainly posting for those on the next sailing from Galveston because it could be delayed due to Vessel Sanitation Program inspectors meeting the ship on 3/5: (BTW we have sailed on many ships after something like this (including crew in Hazmat suits spraying the ship, pre-Covid) and have never had any problems) Investigation Update on the Ruby Princess Cruise Line: Princess Cruises Cruise Ship: Ruby Princess Voyage Dates: February 26–March 5, 2023 Voyage Number: RU305P Number of passengers who reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of passengers onboard: 199 of 2,881 (6.61%) Number of crew who reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of crew onboard: 20 of 1,159 (1.73%) Predominant symptoms: vomiting and diarrhea Causative agent: unknown Actions: In response to the outbreak, Princess Cruises and the crew aboard the ship reported the following actions: Increased cleaning and disinfection procedures according to the ship’s outbreak prevention and response plan. Collected stool specimens from gastrointestinal illness cases to send to the CDC lab for pathogenic identification. VSP epidemiologists and environmental health officers will board the ship in Galveston, Texas, on March 5 to conduct a formal outbreak investigation. Note: The gastrointestinal illness cases reported are totals for the entire voyage and do not represent the number of active (symptomatic) gastrointestinal cases at any given port of call or at disembarkation. https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/surv/outbreak/2023/Ruby-Princess_2-26.html I'm no doctor, but JMO could be Noro?
  13. As a FL resident I've found that this is a good website for all launches. I like it because they keep it updated all the time: https://nextspaceflight.com/launches/
  14. Received the gift box today at 12:03pm. Thanks Celebrity! 😁
  15. I was just coming to show a screen grab from a youtube video I found of 6002 when I read that you already knew the answer. It would have been super though, huh? 😉 Here's the video of 6002 if you haven't already seen it (it's beautiful! Have a wonderful cruise!):
  16. @aimcat I realize you're probably not as desperate now as when you posted on Friday 😉, but just wanted to show this Cruisedeckplans popup that shows the 9296 (from your list in the OP) that might help you visualize the differences:
  17. I'm late to the party, but a big THANKS to both of you for posting this great report. 😚 I noticed the guy with the "VOTE FOR PEDRO" T shirt in the background of your photo, and have changed it to show what many of us are thinking LOL!
  18. Ohh I know a girl named "Bambi" who says she'd love to sign up, and has no problem "trying out" this summer. She's sending a photo to keep with her application: *In all fairness though, I thought I should send you a photo without all the filters, etc., just so you'd be aware of what you'd be getting into. Voila, here's the unfiltered "Bambi": So does she move to the top of your list? Hey at least she doesn't eat much. One pillow chocolate daily (x 274) should do it! 😁
  19. Guess cruisemapper could be incorrect but check this: Review of Norwegian Escape deck 13 (Hospital) Medical Center is the NCL Escape ship’s infirmary (onboard hospital) operated by resident doctors/physicians and nurses on 24-hour call duty. Opening hours are between 8 am and 8 pm. The infirmary is equipped with defibrillators, external pacemakers, pulse oximeters, an ECG (electrocardiograph machine), thrombolytic and lab equipment. Treatments at the ship hospital are equivalent to a private doctor’s visit. All treatments and medications are at extra charge. The only exception is Bonine (seasickness medication) also available at no charge at the ship’s Reception (24 hours). Payments are made by the NCL boarding pass. General health insurance policies do not apply, so buying cruise health insurance is recommended. https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Norwegian-Escape-878/deck13-1412 Or on the NCL Escape pocket guide:
  20. Sadly saying a final "Bon Voyage" to Mr Chemmo. May your many memories made over the years comfort you in this time of sorrow.
  21. I don't know if this will help, but I almost didn't notice mine. Check your emails for one from Celebrity titled "An Exclusive Look at our 2024/2025 sailings" (instead of saying something about your next chance to earn points). When you open that and scroll down the info is posted there. 😉
  22. I don't know if this is the correct reason, but someone asked on PTZ twitter (the port webcam people) why it closed and someone else answered "Really bad weather that was making departures with pilots extremely hazardous for the pilots.." Sounds feasible to me - I'm such a klutz I can't imagine climbing that ladder from the pilot boat even when its calm lol 😉
  23. I always feel so sorry for the cruisers this happens to. Besides returning for medical emergencies I've been on ships that have returned because of accidents/injuries that happen right after sailing - usually due to falls. JMO one good thing I've noticed is that nobody complains about returning (well at least that I've ever heard). And I agree the cruise lines are wonderful in these circumstances, but can't imagine the person's disappointment after the excitement of boarding only to have to leave again. I hope this cruiser will be OK and can cruise again soon.
