  1. Wow! Please tell me more about this strategy. When did you last have success with this strategy? Which ship were you on? What per person price did you pay? Thanks so much!
  2. I will gladly report anyone I see and smell using it. Cant stand the smell and it's just rude to he using it out there like that. I've reported folks at hotels and will gladly report folks on a ship. I dont get into debates with people about it. I just report them.
  3. You were sick on Day 1 of your cruise and in quarantine by that evening. Sounds like you arrived to your cruise already with COVID, your symptoms worsened that day, and it spread to your family while on the cruise. Wow. Talk about bad timing.
  4. Yes, I had similar thoughts that Black Friday this year might not be all that exciting since demand is pretty high and some people are actually paying the higher prices. The prices earlier this year for sailings earlier this year and the add on items were nice. But, since folks are back and excited to cruise, not so much. My early December cruise has some ugly prices for the add on items. 🙁 its before the holidays so it's not due to the holidays either. I often sail that same week and get better prices. Oh well. I'm still hopeful and will check for any BF deals.
  5. Good luck to the OP. On what specific date does the Black Friday sale start? I know it can vary by retailer, so I want to make sure I know when to check for what Royal has to offer? Thanks
  6. Hello, are you able to see if any other ships will be there Friday, December 16 with the Symphony? Update; I used the links and figured it out. Symphony and Jewell with Symphony arriving first. Thanks. The links were easy to use. Thanks.
  7. Oh, thats an interesting situation with Costco. I'm never booked with them so I dont know how that all works. Perhaps if you book another cruise in the future, there is a website that I dont think I am allowed to name here, but it allows you to look up an entire list of sailings for the June and July dates that you can travel for any cruise line that you are interested in and destination or itinerary you like and you can filter by solo and it will show you the single occupancy rate or percentage so you can see if any cruise lines offer a lower single supplement on sailings of your interest in the timeframe that you want. I have used that site as just a first step when looking for solo cabins. Then I check the cruise line's website to confirm the total price and then contact the cruise line directly to book. I also usually have more options if I dont book as far out. The single supplement deals usually pop up closer to sail dates. Just sharing an option for in the future, if that's applicable Good luck 🙂🛳
  8. Yes, I love balcony cabins for the same reason. Was your balcony bigger than a regular size balcony?
  9. I've been assigned a cabin within one week of sailing. (I've also booked a cruise within one week of sailing, lol.) Not knowing my guarantee cabin assignment far in advance really did not bother me. I paid to be on the ship so I knew I would be on the ship. I was happy to be sailing so I did not worry about it. I've booked guarantees many times in past years. Some times I got great locations and sometimes I got ok locations. It was always ok with me for the money paid. I also book and select my cabins sometimes. There are reasons for both choices. With either choice, I just do my research and then I try not to stress too much. Its vacation. Good luck.
  10. Hello All, are there any updates on how things are going and any changes?
  11. Cool. Other than the laundry, what made it worth the extra $300 for you two? Thanks
  12. Ok. Looks amazing. Unfortunately that's out of my price range right now. Maybe one day. 🙂
  13. Love that balcony. What kind of cabin is that? Thanks!
  14. Yep, the October 7 date was an error. Sounds like somewhere in the system The correct date was being activated which caused the cancellation to occur. I guess no one wanted to say that aloud since it seems confusing that the error would happen. Sounds frustrating for sure. Not sure I would stop sailing Royal in this situation since the on ship experience and staff is separate from staff that are part of this process. But, it's your choice of course. Good luck.
  15. Not to me. As shared by others, NCL has better options for sure. MSC does as well. I do not waste my money on it on Royal ships. There isn't enough variety and they are tiny.
  16. I think they said they are sailing on the Symphony. Just a FYi
  17. Hello from a fellow solo cruiser. You did not mention how many days this sailing is, but from a person that has sailed solo in a balcony ocean view cabin, that price seems a bit high to me (including pre-Covid pricing). Maybe it's because its June so you're sailing during summer vacation time or maybe its longer than a 7 day cruise, but I just wanted to share that perhaps if you have any flexibility you can find a better price than all those options you posted for that sailing. I understand that you may have been told that you may be paying thr price for 2 passengers although you are sailing solo. As a solo cruiser, I have usually been able to not pay a full supplement if I work on the timing of the sailing or the timing of when I'm booking a sailing. You mentioned that you last sailed 10 years ago so I just wanted to share that info just in case It might be helpful and you have any flexibility. If the itinerary was simply amazing and I had to book that date right now, maybe I would book it, but if not, no. I would not accept those prices. Also if it's a longer cruise, than maybe that's why it's that cost. good luck.
  18. Man, sounds frustrating. But, that oct 7 date sounds interesting also.
  19. What are the theme nights that some people dress up for on this cruise? Luke 70s night or white night. Thanks
  20. When you say the Windjammer on the Oasis does not look like this, what do you mean? How is it different? Thanks so much for all that you are sharing!
