  4. Just wondering if Ambassador still do towel animals. I'm not that keen when they use towels that are still in use and hanging up I don't mind if all the towels are new but sometimes couples keep their towels separate for a reason ( eg skin infection, foot problem or just prefer to each have their own towel ) so it can be a little bit off putting if the towels are put together.
  5. Thank you Island2Dweller for that really useful train information. The advice about getting a taxi from Grays instead of Tilbury is especially helpful as I wouldn't have realised there may be no taxis outside Tilbury station. Thank you SteveH for your useful info on travel by coach. I was originally thinking of using the coach service but when I looked into things, it was just a bit cheaper to do the entire journey by train. Didn't like the walking option from Tilbury station to the port. Do you know if there are plenty of taxis available when you disembark or are they limited and keep returning to the port ?
  6. Just wanting advice from those who have travelled to Tilbury by coach from London Victoria or travelled to Tilbury by train. or someone who might know the answers... By coach, is there more than one departure time from Victoria ? Do you have to be there half hour or more before the coach sets off ? Exactly where do the coaches depart from ? If I go by train and arrive at the railway station about 12:00/13:00 will there be taxis outside or would I have to phone and call for one ? Is it easy to walk to the cruise port from the station with cases and how long ( roughly ) would that take ? Thanks for any advice you can give.
  7. yes you were correct,no problem getting a taxi from Southampton Railway station on a Sunday to take you to the cruise port. At first the rank by the main entrance opposite Costa had no cars but on looking outside on the other entrance could see a few cabs. Just as we were about to cross over the line to get one, a taxi pulled up outside by Costa, so it seems there are no difficulties getting a taxi on a Sunday.
  8. Taxi from Southampton Central Station to the port. I have caught a taxi from the station to the port a few times but that has always been on a weekday or a Saturday and there have always been a few taxis on the rank outside. Does anyone know about taxis on a Sunday ? Because its not a weekday does this mean there are less around and should I think about booking one ?
