  1. Half day, which is four hours, is $20.00. You must get to the Sanctuary as soon as you board, it fills up very quickly!
  2. @memoaksaid “in public”. You have nothing to worry about, your cabin is completely private.
  3. Just go to the Princess website and look up the packages. It’s very clearly stated what each package offers. If you have the Plus package, you have 2 casual dinners per person.
  4. I have no idea why you’re experiencing this every night. I rarely have this type of issue, but mostly when everyone else is seeing the same. Some people find it happens on different servers. I’m certainly not a tech person, so I’m hoping some of our knowledgeable members can advise you.
  5. We use a Princess CVP and never have issues. Any changes, regardless of the nature, she gets it done in mere minutes. I’ve never sat on hold, spoken to an agent that I don’t understand, had my booking cancelled and I’ve never been stressed or upset. If you don’t have a reliable travel agent or CVP, please do yourself a favour and reach out to one or the other. No cost for either one, but their service is invaluable. Our CVP has been doing our bookings for years and I wouldn’t know what to do without her. Sorry, for your experience. I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been. I hope you enjoy your cruise!
  6. Ship happens! Itineraries are never written in stone and can change weeks, days, or even hours, before you receive notification. All part of cruising, unfortunately.
  7. Yes, your cabin. No other place onboard any Princess ship that I know of. BTW very strange first post. lol
  8. Yes! I purchased the bracelet for mine. I didn’t like the watch or lanyard. I bought the leather key tag for my DH, although he could care less and would be happy to just put the Medallion in his pocket.
  9. We prefer mini suites, too. However, this next cruise we’re just doing a short seven night Canada New England itinerary in August and wanted the huge forward balcony to relax on. Hoping to get the Sanctuary for the whole cruise, but no guarantees for that to happen. Can’t do regular balconies with no sofa or loveseat!
  10. We just did it for a booking on Enchanted Princess cabin L101. I called our CVP and she was able to do it immediately with no problem. CVPs can override the system and choose any cabin that’s available.
  11. Many reviews have been posted. Just do some scrolling through the past couple of months and you’ll find what you’re looking for.
  12. Could be because it’s located within a large office building. Not sure, though. I believe all shopping within walking distance of the port, will be open. I will be there Labour Day weekend this summer, so I’ll report back.
  13. To my knowledge, Princess is the only line that does not outfit standard balcony cabins with a loveseat/sofa. Every cabin category on Celebrity and HAL (except for Pinnacle class, which has no sofa in the inside cabins only) has a sofa. On Princess, you have to book a Royal class ship and a deluxe balcony to get one. I believe the new Sun Princess has stepped up and provides sofas. We always book mini suites to get the full sofa.
  14. Really? May I ask when? All shopping malls in Ontario are open on Sundays, except for Easter Sunday and if Christmas or New Year’s Day fall on a Sunday. I suppose that NB could be different, but it’s surprising.
  15. In Canada the majority of stores are closed except for those in tourist areas. I guarantee that the stores at the port will be open. However, if you travel outside of these areas, you may find most stores will be closed. Of course, banks, pharmacies, retail stores, and office businesses will definitely be closed. Everything will be open in Halifax on Sunday.
  16. Are you booked into a Reserve Class cabin or suite? These are the only passengers who can use the Reserve Class dining room. If so, you do not make reservations, just walk in at anytime they are open. Is you are asking about reservations in the MDR, that is an entirely different situation. I’m not sure about your comment “the location is in the paper each day”. The Reserve Class restaurant does not move location.
  17. Same for us. However, there are a number of people who don’t share our positive experience. You are right, you must continue right to checkout to see the zero balance.
  18. May I ask what problems you’re having pre-booking a specialty restaurant? I had issues when I first tried it, too, but I figured out how to do it and without being charged to my credit card. Maybe I could help?
  19. Wow! Bon voyage, I’m sure it will be just lovely!
  20. Thank you so much! It sounds like such an amazing cruise. I’ll admit to being more than a little bit jealous. I’m also a lover of fries, but I try very hard to resist the temptation. I love that you order only 3! Now that’s restraint!
  21. Beekman 1802 is my go to body wash, skin care brand. I would be delighted if Princess carried it! I’ll continue brining my own until it’s verified here on CC. Fingers crossed!
  22. For me, the extra five days with HAL makes it a no brainer. However, since I’ve been on both ships, I do prefer Diamond Princess over Westerdam, but a Neptune suite gives you access to the Neptune lounge, which is a huge plus. I'm sure you would enjoy either one, but if I’m going all the way to Japan, I want the most number of days as possible.
  23. Please accept my apology for completely misunderstanding your comment. I have no excuse except that sometimes what I read my brain translates the opposite. No offence intended.
  24. I specifically said that my situation does not apply to everyone. Clearly, you personally need to justify the cost of the packages. I completely agree that a lot of people need to take a hard look at the added cost. If you enjoy preparing spreadsheets, more power to you. I have no issue whatsoever with how you budget for your cruise. I do, however, take issue with your first sentence. No need for sarcasm.
  25. If I had to make spreadsheets just to see if I could afford a little extra for a package, I’m sure I’d just stay home. I look at it this way: Can I afford the extra $xxxx it costs for Plus or Premier? In the big picture does a few hundred dollars make the slightest difference in my future lifestyle? Will we enjoy having it? Do we care if one or two days we’re under break even? The answer for us is clear. Enjoy your life, it’s too short to worry about this for more than two minutes. I understand I’m probably in the minority, so my thoughts certainly don’t apply to everyone.
