  1. We actually celebrate Thanksgiving Day in Canada in October. We did sail during your Thanksgiving a few years ago. Many families with lots of children. Full Thanksgiving dinner was served in both the MDR and buffet. We sailed in the Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale. It was nice, but not one I’d do again.
  2. I saw the previews on tv and decided it wasn’t for me. I’ve never watched this show before, but interesting that they had the knowledge of the Medallion technology.
  3. All Mini suites have unobstructed balconies. Some balconies are larger depending on location. Far forward deck 16 Lido have very large balconies.
  4. Not surprising since Labadee is in Haiti. Certainly not a port that any cruiseship should be taking their passengers.
  5. So sorry you had to go through this. Exactly why we never, ever book a sailing on a new ship for the first six months or more. Inaugural sailings sound like so much fun, but so many people have been seriously disappointed. This is applicable to the entire cruise industry, not just Princess.
  6. The Dominican Republic is a very popular vacation destination for many, many people. Lots of 5* resorts. Why would a cruiseship be any different?
  7. Thanks, Tom! We’ll be onboard Enchanted this summer.
  8. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Majestic Princess is a lovely ship and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. You may dress either formally or casually, it’s your choice because the dress codes really no longer exist. I would suggest that gentlemen wear long pants and not shorts. You will hear from others who feel shorts are appropriate, so you decide how comfortable you feel. There is a risk of being denied entry into the MDR. Ladies don’t usually have a problem deciding what to wear.
  9. For sure, the mini suite will be a much better choice. I hate the shower curtain, too. Princess is now probably the only cruiseline that has them. I believe the new Sphere Class ships have moved to the glass enclosure. Thank goodness! The full size sofa is much, much better and you can close the curtains between the bed and sitting area on Royal class ships. We’re sailing on Enchanted in August and looking forward to it. We only eat dinner in the specialty restaurants and we never eat in the buffet, so I can’t help you there. Enjoy your cruise!
  10. Clearly, the packages would be of no real value to you, so just purchase wifi on days you want it. The packages are not for everybody.
  11. I started to type a response to you, but to be honest I think our opinions are not in the least bit appreciated. You’ve made up your mind based on a YouTube video. I’m not sure cruising is right for you.
  12. My niece was onboard HAL Eurodam 5 years ago and met a young man who was one of the entertainment staff. She was 27 and he 28. They hit it off and became friends during the cruise. They corresponded by email until his contract was completed. My niece met him at his home in Amsterdam and they had a brief affair. Both are married to other people now but they remain friends. She remembers her time onboard as one of the most exciting things she has ever experienced. It would be a shame if fraternization between consenting adults was not permitted.
  13. It’s just a little area for kids or golfers to have a bit of fun. Not meant to be the real deal or to actually have a competitive game. Yeah, they could have put something else there that you’d prefer but then someone would ask why no putting green. Of all the things onboard the ship you could entertain yourself with, honestly this one is a real nothing burger. Sorry.
  14. I’ve never seen this. I’m on Safari.
  15. Lots of videos of the Sanctuary and its cabanas on Enchanted on YouTube. Availability will depend on which itinerary and if there are many btb cruisers wanting their cabana for the second leg. They get first chance. The Sanctuary books very quickly so you must get to deck 18 as soon as you board if you want a shot at either a cabana our lounge chair.
  16. We have Rogers and their charges are $12.00 per day, which is not too bad if you need to call for a ride. In ports where cabs are readily available and inexpensive, we just grab one and don’t call. Never use our cell onboard as it’s crazy expensive and Rogers plan does not cover cruiseships. We both have IPads and our family has iPhones and iPads, so we connect that way.
  17. Australia is to be congratulated! I just wish Princess would embrace the no indoor smoking policy that was implemented by Celebrity years ago.
  18. All I want to say is that I hope you have a lovely cruise. Yes, it will be different, but it could also be your new beginning. All you need to do is put one foot in front of the other and slowly move forward. Remember, you are brave, you are strong, you are beautiful and you are special. Please get back to us when you return. I would love to hear all about your cruise.
  19. Oh, my goodness I just love your attitude. Please spread it around to others not as gracious as you. Thank you!
  20. We sail in mini suites frequently and I can tell you there are no perks. Larger cabin with a full size sofa. That’s it.
  21. Thanks for your review from your neighbour near Toronto!
  22. Please completely ignore this post of mine. Brain fog this morning. lol
  23. I need to start drinking vodka earlier in the day! lol. Duh, senior brain. Thanks for catching that, my friend. I meant Medallion, but my fingers typed app. lol
  24. Agree, my friend. They didn’t bother anyone.
  25. You can arrive to board Enchanted Princess anytime around 10:30 or later. Are you green lane or blue lane on the app? Did you receive the app in the mail?
