  1. Yes, back in the day so many people smoked everywhere and anywhere. Thankfully, people became better informed and the vast majority of people now do not smoke. Improvement? Yes, but still far from great. Princess could do much, much better.
  2. Awww, it sounds perfect. Wishing you fair winds an following seas.
  3. Please report back when you get home. Have a fabulous time! Looking forward to hearing all about it.
  4. Our sailing is August 24th on Enchanted, too. Are we on the same cruise? I hope you’re right about the changes on Take 5. It would be wonderful! However, that seems quite soon for them to get that done, but you never know, right.
  5. My Princess Cruise Consultant just called me regarding our upcoming Enchanted sailing. I told her that I read on Cruise Critic that there was a rumour Princess was planning on initiating a non smoking policy. She laughed. She said that in a very recent meeting with Princess Corporate, they addressed the issue as they always do. And, there is no plan to change the policy in the near future. Their feeling is “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. She is very disappointed herself because the majority of her clients want the smoking policy changed. So, the rumour is exactly just that. Nothing new, nothing to see here folks. I hope the OP reads this.
  6. Beekman 1802 is a very good quality product. I’m very fussy about hair and body products and I buy this at home. Good for Sun OPrincess!
  7. I just don’t want to wear a mask so that someone else can freely smoke. I should be able to enjoy the casino without a mask and without my hair smelling like an ashtray. I know you love the casino, but the price is just too high for this lady.
  8. I totally believe this! Hardcore gamblers are immune to cigarette smoke. They’re either smokers themselves or they don’t even notice it anymore. Folks like myself, who enjoy the casino on occasion and do it only for fun, are the ones who suffer. The Princess casinos would still be full until the wee hours without smoking. They’re just afraid to take the leap.
  9. Exactly the same here in Canada. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone smoking. We’re basically a non smoking country except on your own property.
  10. Because Celebrity took a giant step forward and never looked back. Their casinos are packed. The other cruiselines are still wringing their hands on their ability to change an outdated policy. Their loss.
  11. You nailed it! We recently called our Princess cruise consultant and cancelled all of our bookings for 2025. I explained to her that we will not sail Princess again until the casinos are 100% non smoking. She completely understood. We then booked three for 2025 with Celebrity. If Princess does the right thing, we’ll happily come back. We’re sailing on Enchanted in August and it’s our last one. It makes med sad.
  12. Have you been in a casino on a Celebrity ship? Jammed packed every night! No loss of revenue with no smoking.
  13. Congrats! Please come back and tell us what you thought of your cabin. If you find that you can’t book a specific deluxe cabin for your sailing and only guarantee is available, call your travel agent or Princess cruise consultant. Princess tends to hold these back for triple occupancy. Do a mock booking, select three passengers and see which cabins are still available. Call and request this cabin for two passengers. You should have no problem doing this. Enjoy your cruise!
  14. I sincerely hope this is the last word we need to hear regarding gratuities. It says it all. Thank you.
  15. I sincerely believe that @memoak is being kind to the entire crew of all Princess ships. I feel the same way. Let’s just leave it at that, shall we.
  16. We actually love Lido deck on Royal class ships. We either book one of the forward deluxe balconies or mini suites. We are never bothered by noise from the pool area. We like being close to everything. We don’t eat in the buffet, but it’s a great place to grab a drink or some fruit. I would not hesitate to book any cabin on Lido deck.
  17. I said virtually the same thing last month when this was a topic of conversation and this member posted what was repeated today. I was literally slammed by a couple of our members. Please be prepared for the blast.
  18. We’re also onboard in August and very much looking forward to our Canada New England cruise. Received an email yesterday that we would not be stopping in Newport Rhode Island and instead a sea day.
  19. Your opinion matters, so thank you. However, I think certain things never go out of style. A desire to look nice, for oneself and one’s partner. Hats at the dinner table is a sign of disrespect, unless you must for either medical or religious reasons. All MDRs are overly air conditioned to the point of being downright chilly. Even in the Caribbean. I guarantee you will not overheat if your knees to ankle are covered. After dinner, run to your cabin and put on your shorts. I don’t ask for much, just a little effort to look like you’re eating in a dining room not a backyard bbq. I realize that I’m in the minority and that’s okay, too. Do your shorts affect how much I enjoy my meal? Of course not. Wishing you many happy days at sea.
  20. I used to enjoy formal night’s back in the day, but times change. I think casual is fine with long pants and a nice collared shirt. No tie, no jacket works just fine. Here is where I get flamed each and every time. Shorts and tshirts and ball caps are not appropriate in the MDR at dinner IMHO. I’m wearing my fire retardant uniform, so have at it. I’ve heard it all a thousand times before. lol
  21. Princess does offer some interesting itineraries. Love the IC. Enjoy the very reasonably priced packages. Really like their Specialty Restaurants, which are less expensive than the other lines.
