  1. Those port charges, taxes and grats can bump the price up.

The cruises I was watching only dropped about $1000 all up, that's on about $10,000 fare, so it seems they bumped the price of the insides.

    Hi GUT2407 ,

I think that they did bump up the inside cabins I had already checked them about a month ago ,and they were about $150 cheaper on the inside one .

Just got my booking from a travel agent(online) ,whoa:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:- it is $900 deposit by Tuesday ,I wonder what the deposit is thru Celebrity ,does anyone know?

    Cheers Deb

  2. Hi Everyone,

Just looking at the Celebrity site they have the balcony cabin cost of inside cabins , just a lesson for me to check all the pricing ,it certainly adds up fast

    $852.00 AUD:)

    per person

But when you add the taxes, fees and port expenses of 163.05 AUD per person that are additional. Then the gratuities are added,it is over $1100 :(.Certainly adds up ),but for a balcony not a bad price ,for 8 days

yes I have booked now ,wanted to try the Century Solstice ,taking my god daughter with me .

    Cheers Deb

PS ,It also included one of the perks ,I chose the drink package .

  3. Is it just on the 8 night South Pacific cruises?

If so, there are three. I've shown the current prices for the cheapest inside and verandah cabins:

    November 26th 2015

    Inside $851

    Verandah $1251

In this case the price of $1015 splits the difference beteeen the cabin prices but you still save $236

    December 28th 2015

    Inside $1995

    Verandah $2015

Massive saving of $1000 if it applies to this cruise

    April 1st 2016

    Inside $1051

    Verandah $1251

    Again a saving of $236

Edit - gotta remember those prices are plus fees and taxes, and plus gratuities if you don't pick those as your perk.

I'm going to watch this carefully. If they do offer it on the December cruise I'd be tempted to do a B2B with my Christmas cruise.

Hi Everyone , It is the 26th November 2015 one (8 day) -as well as other ones ,just checking which ones are coming up on their website, will try to list each one 1st April 2016- from $1,251 each (8 day) 28th Dec 2015 (8 day) New Years cruise from $2,115. 12th Oct (12 day) from $2,372 each outside and suites are sold out on that only Balcony and insides left, 5 JAN 2016-Balcony from $2,751 NZ cruise.

I am off to do some 'cleaning ' ! Hope that helps.

    Cheers Deb

  5. Can't help but be a little excited. We're not drinkers, so the drinks aren't important to us but are going to like the balcony discount and other little perks.

Had bad, bad weather last night, many have trees down and hail damage. We've been without electricity for about 13 hours and power company has no idea when we'll get it. Thank good for generators!!!! Seeing our little emblem change from Emerald to Diamond helps a little.

Just wanted to show a little excitement around those that would understand. :D

    Hi packedandalready,

Can you please tell me what the balcony discount is, I have diamond status, very excited too . Just booked a balcony, no discount. .??

    Thanks Deb

  6. Hi everyone ,

I posted about the inside virtual cabins last week ,it has made me reconsider them , so the next level up is the Promenade cabins, can anyone who has stayed in them give me some advice , what floor would you recommend ?Is it too noisy down the lower decks or am I better to get one up higher? Which is the best location close to the middle or further back towards the front ? Is there a location of the promenade that would give you the best views of the parades etc? The parades do sound like fun . Has anyone stayed in one and remember what the cabin number was, would you recommend it or not ,why ?

Or would you suggest I go up another category to an outside cabin .

I have to make my mind up by tomorrow(I have cabins on hold ) ,so please someone give me your views on this please .

    Cheers Deb

  7. This pertains to people who couldn't get the same cabin for both cruises. From my experiences with RCL/C, free upgrades are scarcer than hens teeth. We've sailed with them 21 times and are still waiting for the first one. You can contact them and tell them that you don't want to be upgraded though.

Thanks for advice grandgeezer,:) I will ring them, and ask them to lock in my cabin if possible .

    Cheers Deb:)

  8. Hi everyone,

This thread just had me wondering.about moving after my gear to another cabin.

I have booked a B2B next Feb,Voyager of the seas ,virtual balcony inside cabin . I was able to book the same cabin for each cruise , should I contact RCI and ask them to not move me ? or just hope they won't? :(

I haven't heard of many persons being moved out of their cabins ,or what are the odds of a upgrade?

    Cheers Deb

  9. Hi Everyone,

I have previously cruised on Celebrity ,just booked on Voyager of the Seas first time RCI. I have 2 questions .

I am sure I read somewhere that my Elite on Celebrity can give me Diamond with RCI.

But can I find it -NO ,can someone please suggest where to locate this information .

If this is the case , Who do I contact ? RCI,:confused:or Celebrity?

    Cheers Deb

  10. I was in one the other month. They are not too bad, but they are not all that great. The camera they use is not really the best so at times everything is a little blurry and at certain times you cannot see a thing due to the sun. Plus it does give off a bit of light even when turned off, although that is fixed by closing the curtains.

I would say it is better then a inside room, but not that much better.

    Hi Cruise ship fan,

Thank you for your reply ,I was hoping to lay in bed and pretend that I was in a balcony cabin:( ,might have a rethink on a balcony cabin .

    Cheers Deb

  11. Hi Everyone ,

I asked about a discount ,was told no ,but suggested they ask their supervisor , I was expecting a no ,but they gave me a $20 discount ,not much but that will cover the cost of a cocktail , the moral to this story is ,if you don't ask ,you don't get ,so my suggestion is ask when doing B2B ,you never know,it may pay for a drink or 2 onboard .

    Cheers Deb :)

  12. Chinese New Year is just a couple of days away. This evening, we had our reunion dinner.
