  1. When I look at it, I see a line crossing out all 4 visits. Presumably that means cancelled as mentioned by NJHORSEMAN.
  2. What about between shows? Do they empty out the place and close the bar? Are there already people lined up for the 2nd show?
  3. My only experience with the Cavern Club/Beatles was on the Epic. The process there was to go maybe 45 minutes ahead of show, get a seat and sip on a drink or 2 while waiting. From what I have seen/read it appears to me that on the Joy, there ars actually long lines of people standing well before the show. So my question for those who have been there lately is: When can you actually claim a table and when does the bar open? It would only make sense that they would open the bar and tables when people started arriving. Staff shortage? Other bars don't just open when there is a show going on for the most part. These 1960's legs aren't much good standing for a long period these days. 😞
  4. Just did a quick check and you can get a ticket for $67.90 Cdn. Go to the grayline.com Halifax tours site. They sell online and at the bus. Ship price is $91.
  5. You can get HOHO tickets cheaper along the Harbour Walk.Google Halifax hop on hop off and you can see how much and how far you may have to walk.
  6. OP here. Still working on it. Today I was able to get my wife thru step 7 by adding a random pic. A message appeared saying a new pic was needed at the pier but the step could now be completed and it worked. So of course I went to my step 7 and did the same. No dice for me so I will be back at it tomorrow. This all happened after 3 support chats. Oh well, 1st world problems. My goal is to be miserable now instead of on embarkation day. I am half successful so far! 😞
  7. I have checked in to my cruise on the first day in order to get an early arrival time but was unable to get security photos loaded. This can be finished at the pier but will I lose my early arrival time if that step is not completed?
  8. She didn't mention FAS, just specialty restaurants.
  9. I can see nothing on the app which refers to accessing the messaging function through the NCL app. Does it all happen once onboard? Do you need only the latest version which appears to be incompatible with my phone? Cost is $10?
  10. If it's not a dance floor, is it a mosh pit? 🤣🤣. If not, all the more reason to put more seating there! My only CC experience was on Epic and it was used as a dance floor. Most standees stood behind the tables. The Joy CC appears to be a bit more chaotic. Getting anxious for my return to Beatlemania after being away for an entire pandemic.
  11. My research and previous experience tell me that no matter how early one gets to a Beatle show to get a seat, you will still have your view blocked by the latecoming hordes who stand on the dance floor. Can recent Joy cruisers corroborate this? If so there seems to be a simple solution. Take the tables at the back and move them to the front. Then create the dance floor at the back. People can dance and stand no matter when they come in but we early birds will keep the view we were so patient in earning. And before it is mentioned, I am well aware of the Waterfront option. Cmments?
  12. Yes, presuming you are talking about Oak Bluffs. You said ferry but could you be meaning tender? Either way there is a street with shops and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk and some on the cross streets as well.
  13. That entertainment schedule is just what I want. Is it available anywhere besides the box office? Thanks for all your work!
  14. Being from Halifax I second that recommendation. There are several books on the Explosion and if anything it is an "underrated" disaster considering the death toll in the thousands. Most Americans have not heard of it. It was a side effect of WW1 and if it happened in a US port would be infamous across thr land. The Maritime Museum has decent exhibits on both the Titanic and the Explosion as jdavid pointed out. Lots of info and stories online as well if you google it.
  15. Where is the first opportunity to pick up Day 1 daily? Check-in, guest services or elsewhere? Also, do the dailies still get dropped off in the evenings when there is no longer turndown service?
  16. Do you need to be successfully checked in, in order to make theater reservations in the 21 day window?
  17. Due to a price drop I have been able to upgrade from an Oceanview to a Club Balcony cabin. Do I receive any extra perks with this? For example, I noticed that Club Royalty normally gets ine free laundry bag.
  18. Thanks. I will be following. Our cruise is actually not until Sept. 4. Different itinerary (Canada/New England) but dailies will be very useful. Have a great cruise.
  19. I know that you can't make reservations for the Cavern Club but I would like to avoid conflicts when I am booking other shows and meals. When you board is there any info available as to when the Beatle shows are on so I do not book a meal or Footloose at the same time?,
  20. Thanks. Hopefully it will be the same for us. What about debarking in Montreal? Surely, CBSA must check you somewhere or it would be quite a smuggling loophole.
  21. OP here. Keep in mind that we will not be returning to the US on the ship, so somewhere along the way Canadians will have to do the declaration dance for the authorities. Also, as regards ArriveCan. it is no longer mandatory but can be used instead of the declaration form and depending on the process, it can get you to a shorter line.
  22. On a Canada- New -England cruise from NY, our first Canadian port is Halifax, a noon-time arrival. I am wondering what to expect process-wise and time-wise from Canadian Customs. Does this differ depending on your citizenship? We are Canadian so I presume it will be similar to arriving back in Canada after a cross-border trip and that filling out ArriveCan app may exoedite process. Anyone out there, especially Canadians, have experience with this scenario?
  23. We have a cruise from NY to Quebec in September. Our first Canaduan port is Halifax, a noon time arrival. What can we expect from CBSA time-wise? When we cruised into an American port of call in May from Bermuda, it took over 3 hours for everyone to clear US customs before they could get off the ship. Can we expect a similar experience entering our first Canaduan port?
