Hi Mary, we had to book guarantee fare. Have you heard anything
negative about the cabins. So far we are inside and quite forward.
I am prone to motion sickness but travel well prepared. My only
real concern is noise as I am a very light sleeper. Any feedback is
appreciated. Have fun your itinerary sounds great.
Diane
Sorry Diane, haven’t heard about pros and cons of the rooms except what I have read in the reviews. I’m just going to go with whatever it is and call it an adventure. We’re in a forward outside on Belvedere Deck.

Hi MarySB, we will also be on AO April 30 thru May 8 “Aegean Experience 1 Greece and the Islands. Any chance that’s your trip also?
Bozo5404 aka Diane
Hi Diane, looks like we are getting on when you are departing. We are on the May 8-18 th Ancient Greece and the Dalmatian coast.

I just gotta ask this question: .How long are you going to be on that ship?
Those shelves are high and not the easiest to get to. Boxes keep things sorted and when you need to root thorough your things, it’s jusst easier to bring down a box.
I find the zippered boxes from ikea work well, and they are a variety of sizes

Thanks Shar for the info. Good to know about the AC, too.
Only a month now -can’t wait!

We are going on the AO in May and was just wondering about laundry. Is there a service (if so how much is it), or are there self serve machines, .... or just the bathroom sink to rinse out some things.
Also, do the men wear jackets at dinner?
Thanks

I still find the s- ships more light , open and airy than the Holland America ships which are dark and have dark decor.

I am hoping that we don't have these problems on Solstice on our 30 March cruise out of Sydney.... I won't be very happy if we go to the pool area and find all the sun loungers with towels...etc... on and no-one sitting on them
You Will!
Could be caught early if the pool butlers (or whatever their shirts say) would stop people immediately if they drop stuff and leave. Tell them not allowed to save. If you want a chair use it then and there!

Delos is great if you have lots of time, but the MUST is to explore and get lost in the maze of the small streets of town and enjoy a drink in little Venice for the sunset if timing allows.
In Santorini, get to Oia - beautiful and you'll get all the iconic greek photos. I would suggest an island tour of Santorini since you have so little time there. See the little towns and a winery tour and the black sand beaches. My favourite island!
Rhodes is great to explore on foot. Years ago we did the Lindos trip and it was very nice.

to reiterate something that was said earlier but seems to have been glossed over....Please do not fill your water bottles from the public beverage stations in the buffet. It is not sanitary and it is forbidden. Lots of signs are posted. If you have you own water bottle and want to fill it take the time to put the ice and water in a glass and then pour that into your personal bottle.
Just use the tap water, and some ice from your bucket.

Canned sodas are supposed to be included, however some bars don't have all the canned sodas so you will get fountain. Smoothies and not included. But non aloholic slushy blended drinks are (virgin pina colada etc).
Smoothies from the Spa Cafe are not included, BUT alcoholic slushy drinks are included: pina colada, mudslides, daiquiris, mojitos, etc included. -as is coffee from cafe del Bacio

Just bought the insulated one on the ship. $16 I think and looks like a "S'well" water bottle. Didn't think it would be insulated as well as the S'well since it was less than half the price, but we had a hot long day in Puerto Rico and it still had ice in the bottle when we returned to the ship. Good purchase!
-
There is no need to bring your own water bottle. Celebrity provides water as you are leaving the ship. Also, when you return they have water and fresh moist either hot or cold towels depending on the weather.
It's a long day between leaving the ship and returning - best to always have a water bottle with you in the hot climes

People would never leave their personal belongings sitting around on a public beach for fear of it being stollen. Maybe there should be a big lost and found basket where the pool attendants just clear up belongings and used towels. Fear of losing stuff might work.
People on our last cruise were so bold that all they left on chairs were towel clips (everywhere).
One thing I did notice on this Silhouette cruise last week, was that most of the chairs were actually occupied - on all decks, not just at the pool. It was had to find a chair anywhere! And every time I found a vacant chair, it always had a used towel. Always had to hesitate to see if it was free or not. I had people even offer up their chairs, but didn't bother to take the towels with them when they left :o.

Had a beverage package, but just like to keep some cans of Diet Coke on hand in the cabin. Last week, bought a case on the way to the port and taped a luggage tag on it. Gave it to the porters with the luggage and it Arrived in the cabin - convenient and I was sure to get a can not a fountain drink.

We also just got off the Silhouette. Our group said they liked the MDR very much and no one really felt the need to pay $50 more to got to a specialty restaurant. We ate there every night except San Juan night, where we ate on shore.
As with all ships some things are hit or miss and you get lucky. We had a great waiter and was very vocal about what to choose and what not to.... - he tended to be correct for our tastes. I only had one bad meal - the roast lamb on formal night was very tough and dry, but other meals were excellent. The beef shanks were melt in your mouth. My daughter had a korma that was incredible (I got a taste ;)). The steak diane on the last night was really good as well. Just ask your waiter, they know what people tend to send back. Coffee always came luke warm :(. Desserts were better than in the past :D.
Only had lunch in the MDR once and had BBQ ribs - just so so.
Buffet- Really like the layout of the buffet and food was good, much better than the Royal Caribbean cruise we were on last month.

Just wondering how bad the water is at this beach. Looks beautiful and is very convenient. I have been to other beaches on the island over the years, but thought we’d just hang close to the port this time.

found this comparison, but still no menu of how much each cocktail or frozen drink is covered in which plan.
-
We're on that cruise also. Just love strolling around the old city and walking over to the fort. There is so much character in this historic old town. Have done this itinerary before and i the evening it was nice to have dinner in the lido and sit outside and enjoy the lights of the city.

There is also a Standard Beverage Package for $45 per day. This includes drinks up to $6 per day. I haven't found a drinks menu except for the Martini Bar. What does this include besides soft drinks and beer? ...any cocktails or frozen drinks?
-
Never seen a menu other than the specialty cocktails that each bar has. Sky lounge has a few (named for zodiac symbols), sunset has a little menu with a few cocktails. Of course the Martini Bar and the World Class bars have their menus. But a comprehensive menu listing all the standard cocktails, never seen one on any of the ships I've been on.
Ok, I am assuming most frozen drinks, drinks of the day, mojitos, etc would be covered and under $9. Would love to see recent wine by the glass list or menus from the martini bar and wcb. Last time I was on celebrity, it was the molecular bar with was great.
-
I would love to see a drinks menu. Trying to decide between the classic and premium plans.
Also, can you just pay the difference for the cost of martinis etc if you get the classic plan? I have read conflicting reports on this. Thanks for any info.
-
I am cruising with my daughter. We do not have the drinks package as a perk, but were wondering if she buys a classic drinks package, do I have to buy one too? Can only one person per cabin buy the package?

Hi Shar, how dressy is the dining room - should I pack a dress? Or is a nice top and some costume jewellery with pants, the normal attire? I know on my river cruises I think I was the only one that packed a skirt :D
