We took our 3 grandchildren (one at a time) on a cruise for their 12th birthdays. We were also told that they didn't need anything special, but worried about coming back from a tour in a foreign country and having an attendant question our right to take a child who is not ours. There is a lot of child trafficking I'm afraid. We had the parents sign and notarize the following document. Three cruises and we never were questioned or had to produce this, but it was worth it for peace of mind! Feel free to copy it.

This is exactly what I want!  I’m now in the process of trying to figure out how to copy 😳😬😀 thank you so much.

That sounds good. But while not necessarily a requirement, I would also require the grandkids have passports.

We requested they get passports, their parents got them passbooks 😕. We are also waiting on one of the passbooks (application sent in April), social security number was wrong. We will bring certified birth certificates as well I guess. And just hope nothing happens that we would need to fly home.

  3. Our grandchildren, 13 and 11 will be coming with us New York to Eastern Caribbean on Venezia. Carnival rep told me we don’t need a permission letter or anything like that which I find hard to believe.  We want to cover all bases, if we get a notarized statement that gives permission to bring them on the cruise and medical treatment if necessary, signed by both parents…do we need to sign it as well?   What have those of you in this position done in the past?

We did this last year and it was not as easy as it seemed before the cruise. First of all,Celebrity does not offer any type of transfer between ships.   We decided to wait until the last minute to leave the Apex at terminal 25 since we were embarking on the Reflection at 19.  BIG MISTAKE waiting so long.  The Police and Sheriffs deputies do not allow anyone to walk to terminal 19 as there are no sidewalks.    It really is very dangerous.  We also thought that we would get a taxi to just take us between the terminals.  Once outside there was a Princess ship disembarking at the same time and they let everyone off the ship at the same time.  The line for the taxi was 20-30 people deep.  By that time (about 9:30-10:00) you encounter people disembarking and also people showing up to embark.  If we had to do it all over we would walk off first thing, have a waiting taxi take us to the next terminal and just wait it out.  We eventually flagged down a driver of a shuttle to an off site parking garage, offered him a generous tip and he took us.  Good luck.

Oh my! Thanks for that input. Did you inquire at guest services about transferring?

I have a free interior room offer, my husband has $100 off offer.  Would they be combineable if the same code AND does the code have to be exactly the same? We did pay for an upgrade.

Thank you, I’ve called twice already today.  The answer I’d like most would be do the offer codes have to be exactly the same, I’ve read somewhere they don’t-but that could be another cruise line.

Free drinks are offered to all players, regardless of level in the Captain's Club or the Blue Chip Club. Although the casino bar doesn't use the menu from the Martini Bar, you can order martinis and common martini variations (for example, I usually drink cosmopolitans and lemon drop martinis; I imagine an apple martini or a chocolate martini would be no problem). I find the drink service at the casino table games to be consistently excellent. The glasses might be smaller that those at the Martini Bar (or, if you treat your servers well, they might not be so small), but I never go thirsty.

I had no idea drinks were free for all in the casino!  Thanks for all the info.

I booked under a casino offer which includes free drinks in the casino.

😂 I’ll take my drink into dinner, and elsewhere. Also hoping I can stock up on bottled water and coke from the casino bar. Guess I might be spending a lot of time in there. lol

I recently booked a cruise thru a very large warehouse chain.   The agent read the terms and conditions.  It took him about 10 minutes.   When he was finished he asked I had any questions.   I said yes.   Can you repeat that.  🙄😱

One of the things read was that they do not participate in the move up program.  If they don’t other large TAs may also be doing the same.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Interesting, I did not know that. We usually book thru on line TA. this cruise is a casino offer so we booked right through Celebrity Blue Chip.
