  2. The chart is not predictive -- there is no September chart available in August. The only way this one gets put together is that passengers report in after they cruise (or rarely, during a cruise).

Staff have contracts that vary from 3 months to 6 months, occasionally even more. The contracts are for a time frame, not for a particular ship, and so in the space of a 3 month contract they can move from ship to ship, or stay put. It all depends on the vacation schedules of the others in their positions, as well as promotions, retirements, etc.

  3. "No offense, but seeing alot of threads on TV's makes you wonder why go on a cruise if the TV is so important...stay home, save your money and watch the TV 24/7..."

I guess you have never caught something on a cruise and had to stay in your room for a while.

Or had trouble sleeping and wanted something to watch in the night.

  4. Each ship and each position is different. Some people stay with one ship for three months, some for four months, some as long as six months. They are constantly coming and going, to vacation, reassignment, or even retirement.

Because the OP depends on those who come back from a cruise to send him updated information, the more of us who contribute, the better the chart.

  5. "if they serve lobster and you would rather have 2 tails than the dessert, can that be ordered?"

Generally they won't bring two lobster tails simultaneously, but if you finish one and would like a second one, they will bring you another. You can also have dessert that evening if you still have room for it.

"How do you find out if you're elibible for the free galley tour?"

If you are Elite, it will be listed on your instructions sheet along with the other Elite events -- look for that in your stateroom on arrival. It should be stapled to the coupon sheet you'll also receive

If it's a general free galley tour, open to all, you'll see it in the Daily program

"Can you tell me if it is possible to order an item from the MDR menu in BLU?"

Possibly. This is easier on some ships than others. Sometimes the two galleys are quite far from each other and it's difficult to get food from the MDR to Blu. I would check the MDR menu early in the day when it is posted, and if you see something you would like, talk to the Blu MaitreD to see if it can be arranged.

'are escargot on the appetizer menu in any restaurant at all or still no availability?"

There have been a few reports from returning passengers that escargot were served on some cruises. It appears that the availability is still not reliable, so all you can do is hope that when you are cruising, there are escargot on board for you.

  6. Not a silly question at all

In the US -- entree means main, or main course.

The meal courses are usually appetizer course (also called a starter), soup, salad, entree, dessert. A few fine restaurants also offer a cheese course.

Most diners today order soup or a salad, not both. On Celebrity, you may order both if you wish.

In French-inspired restaurants, the salad course comes after the entree, but in the vast majority of restaurants the salad precedes the entree.

So while the word "entree" originally mean the entry, or appetizer, course, the meaning has evolved to mean the main course.

  7. The cruise lines have the right to change any itinerary for any reason and you really have no recourse. If it is before final payment, you can of course cancel, but by then you may have non-refundable airline tickets. After final payment, well, you are pretty well stuck with the itinerary you get. Changes happen all the time for all sorts of reasons -- from strikes, to civil unrest, to weather, to high seas which don't allow for tendering, to mechanical trouble. If you read the contract you see that you can't really do anything about it. They will refund any port charges if you miss a port, but they will do their best to substitute another port or re-arrange the itinerary if possible

  8. Not sure where you are seeing this, but remember that people seldom write positive reviews, preferring to vent on sites like this one.

I've never known Celebrity to repeat the same shows on a cruise. The comedian might do two different nights, one in the main theater and one at a "late night adults only" comedy venue, but that's about it as far as repetition goes.

That being said, Reflection isn't my favorite ship, but having nothing to do with it being "boring" but more with the design of the ship.

  9. "It sounds like if you have non-refundable OBC, then you CANNOT use it in the casino. Does anyone who actually tried this know for a fact (I know what the Captains Club person said, I want to know about real life experience)? "

Had no problem taking it out on the casino in May 2013, Eclipse.

  10. Probably not. There are no USB inputs on the TV. The inputs which are there are disabled. Some cruisers have reported success on getting the AV inputs to work, but most others have not. It's highly unlikely that you'll be able to watch your movies on their televisions.
