  1. I think Symphony could have benefitted from those well wishes!
  2. Is this the worst you've experienced?
  3. Somewhat similar to Explora Journeys concept for Anthology. Hope it meets with better success!!
  4. And isn't there a recommendation to avoid the cabins above Crema, due to wafting cigarette smoke?
  5. Remember that the designer that is credited for these rooms has been retained with pride for the new builds.
  6. Now is definitely the time to be working with a skilled TA. Speak to him/her now, so that there is some prep work that can be done ahead. Good ones are your best tool for last minute bookings.
  7. We enjoyed free laundry on Seaborn, then on Explora in the last year. I didn't think it mattered to me, but having a basket and hangars coming back, fresh and pressed was overwhelmingly pleasing. Don't think it is a decision maker, but it now sure ranks up there for me, the laundress of this couple. To be fair, I never ranked transitting the Panama Canal high on my "to do" list. But having done it, and done it several times, I am a convert.
  8. (Not arranged by Crystal) On a Med cruise, we used the same private car service in each of the the ports. Worked well.
  9. My question was not rhetorical. Do you propose to lengthen the ship to acccommodate the same number of cabins, but widen them? Or widen the ship to lengthen them? Both would have repurcussions for port docking or canal services. (I doubt increased floor to ceiling height was meant!) Or eliminate the crew service area between port and starboard cabins? Or reduce the # of cabins to accommodate the increase square footage? This would have an impact on costs. I truly am interested in what passengers are willing to forego in order to achieve their suggestions.
  10. Where do you propose they take the room from, in order to enlarge these cabins?
  11. To put it another way - there are 2 databases. The customer database, and the financial database. A&K bought the customer database, which contains e-mail addresses, your cruise history, that sort of thing. The milestone rewards were recorded in the financial database, and it died with OC.
  12. I value the big windows in the libraries and bridge lounges, both of which I use during daylight hours. The casinos lure me late at night, and big windows won't add any value to me at that time of day. So I am a little disappointed to lose the big windows in the bridge lounge.
  13. Both Margie and Liesl provided librarian services in crew quarters too.
  14. Hope someone takes the initiative to photo the libraries and bridge rooms on both Symphony and Serenity. I read somewhere else that on Symphony, the casino was going into the library. Glad that rumour has been dispelled!
  15. A couple of reputable sources to confirm Terry's post: https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/shipbuilding-equipment/explora-ii-delayed-until-september-five-cruises-canceled https://www.cruisehive.com/launch-of-explora-journeys-new-ship-delayed-by-several-weeks/137589
  16. Glad to read your valued input on this. This wasn't my idea in the first place.
  17. What is the chance that Crystal will announce a sailing for December, that gets Symphony from Athens to embark her next "un-wait-listed" cruise? That would be SIngapore on January 18th, I think. Or a number of legs, that accomplishes the same thing. Common sense tells me that they won't want to go without passengers on all the sailings that are waitlisted. That would be 55 days, Nov 24 to Jan 18. We should know when itineraries are announced, in +/- 72 hours.
  18. Here are the offers made to 2024 world cruisers when Serenity rerouted to avoid the Suez canal. Gives an indication of what -may- be offered. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2992061-serenity-sailings-for-april-and-may-2024/page/2/
  19. If you have your paperwork from the 2015 cruise, you'll find you CS number on the booking confirmation.
  20. BUT, if Crystal transitted the canal and Red Sea as they did in March, wouldn't that simplify sourcing and provisioning? Both voyages were 17 days.
  21. Ours did too - to keep the a/c cooling the room.
  22. If they are taking credit for the re-vamped Double rooms, it is back to the drawing board, I'd say.
  23. And there is always room service. In the past it wasn't necessary to have room service deliver to your room, if you prefer to avoid eating in your room. I don't know NC policy.
