  1. Normally, they do not let someone off the ship until they settle their onboard account, even when they leave by ambulance. He should have been given a phone number for someone who will assist him with this. He could check his credit card to see if they have charged anything or just wait until his wife is stable and deal with it when he is able to.
  2. That is a prorated C&A balcony discount since it is only a 3 day cruise. NRD is non-refundable deposit.
  3. @firefly333 Sounds like you did really well. Once you decide if you want to keep the sofa coming from Texas or not, there will be ways for you to get rid of it if you need to. There could be an online group for your building that people post stuff to sell or give away for free. We have found that the maintenance guy in my Mom's building has lots of contacts and can make stuff disappear very quickly. Some stuff he will take because he knows someone who wants it, other times he has disposed of furniture for little money. We don't care if he is selling what he takes, as long as he takes it.
  4. That's a good start! Do you have sheets and stuff with you? I know you will use one of your quilts but maybe some nice new sheets for the new bed would be nice. A walk through Walmart for sheets and some laundry soap, if you don't have any with you, might be a good idea for tomorrow. They have patio furniture and other furniture there too that could give you some design ideas and some lower end prices. I know we priced out some gorgeous teak furniture for our deck and it ended up costing more than what we had paid to have the deck rebuilt! 😲 I ended up spray painting my existing table and getting new chairs at BJ's. 😄
  5. Padding the elevator is something that happens a lot in high rise buildings and takes all of two minutes, if that, for them to do. It just protects the elevator from scratches. I would make sure you read your bylaws about other requirements for movers, so you know before they get there. I know absolutely no furniture is allowed through the front door of my Mom's building, even if it is a chair I am bringing to her. All furniture and movers must come through the garage under the building. People that live on the first floor aren't even allowed for their stuff to come through the front door, it has to come through the garage and up the elevator. Anyone caught gets written up and fined. Movers are only allowed during certain hours too as the buildings have noise ordinances. As far as a getting a bed, that will save you a lot of money in hotel costs. I would just go to a few different mattress stores and listen to their sales pitches and lay on a bunch of beds. Try a Sleep Number store and see if that appeals to you but then go look at traditional mattresses, foam, hybrids, etc. The whole process can be overwhelming because things are so different these days. Some like the Purple mattresses that you can get online that come all squished but I just don't see how those will hold up. We bought a mattress last year and looked at adjustable bases but they weren't for us. We are looking at a new mattress for my Mom and we are absolutely considering an adjustable base for her. No harm in looking and if you find one you like, even better. I know one place we looked at delivered to the door but where we bought from removed old bedding and delivered and installed, for a cost of course. Your bylaws might define what sized mattress fits in the elevator or ask neighbors, they will know. Local, smaller stores will likely have delivered to the building too.
  6. Even if the games are supposed to be on ESPN, you likely won't have an ESPN in the Med that is carrying the Celtics. We were on Liberty recently and were able to see the Celtics and Bruins playoff games for the first few days but once we were getting ESPN Caribbean, we did not get the games. We were able to stream them over our Verizon FIOS app. I would make sure you subscribe to something that you can stream in the Med.
  7. I get emails from Celebrity, who I have never sailed and only got a Captain's Club number yesterday because of the new changes. Oh well, not worth trying to get it fixed.
  8. Thanks for the information. I have tried for years to get Royal Caribbean emails but I only get emails related to my bookings. At least I see posts like this when there is news to share. 🙂
  9. Yes, you can go get duplicate keys for the cabins, but you should have been able to book the cabins the way you wanted to since they were side by side. Your wife and one teen will need to carry two sea pass cards, one that has their charging privileges to their original cabin and the other that opens the door to the cabin they are sleeping in.
  10. Set sail passes are available 45 days out, after you have checked in for your cruise. You are talking about sea pass cards.
  11. Symphony does have Royal Suite Class and a JS is sea class. You will have access to Coastal Kitchen only for dinner on a space available basis. You will have to try to make reservations once you board the ship if you are interested. You will get priority boarding but not too many other benefits other than two points per night. You don't get access to the suite lounge but you will have 4 drink vouchers a day as a diamond.
  12. It depends on the ship. If you are sailing in a JS on a ship with Royal Suite Class, these are the benefits: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-rooms/royal-suite-class
  13. Yes, you can choose the check in times and then all can fill in all the other information at a later date. Just make sure they do it at least 72 hours prior to your sailing as you will lose access to your reservation 48-72 hours before your sailing. If you try to check in at midnight and it is not available, just log out of the app and close the app completely. Go back into the app and sign in and you should have the check in button on the bottom of the screen.
  14. I just downloaded the Celebrity app. Didn't realize it will use the same login and password as the Royal app. Clicked on enroll in Captain's Club and I now have an account with the correct status and everything.
  15. I just wasn't sure if we were on the same sailing and I didn't know it. I don't usually join the rollcalls on here anymore unless there is someone I want to meet. 🙂
  16. Ahh, okay. We sailed out of Bayonne three weeks ago tomorrow on Liberty. Didn't think he was on that sailing.
  17. That is a connecting cabin, I would be very concerned that there is not a sofa in that cabin. Edit: I found a connecting pair on that same deck with the same category and it is a love seat in that cabin, not a full sofa.
  18. That's good too hear, hope he behaves himself and makes all of them! 😄 We are doing well, Mom is doing well physically but is getting really forgetful. Still can't get her to move closer but aren't pushing it anymore as it upsets her. I have had a bunch of issues going on but was happy to be able to cruise a few weeks ago and have Odyssey booked for later this year. Hope you are taking care of yourself too. Can't wait to see graduation pictures. 🙂
  19. Congratulations, Marietta! How is Charlie doing? Is he going to be able to make it to all of the graduations?
  20. Suggested dress is smart casual but you will see many in shorts.
  21. From their posts, it looks like they are on Symphony so I am confused about the older ship comment since that ship is from 2018. I would consider Symphony a newer ship and would expect it to have the better "coolers" that keep things cold.
