Jewel of the Seas - Aft Facing
reallyitsmema replied to packedandready's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We have had 1100 and did not have issues with noise from above. It is a great cabin and great balcony. -
We have a few bids in for our upcoming cruise too. A few people on our rollcall have won in the last couple of days, so fingers crossed. We only booked a balcony this time and bid on a GS and OS. Didn't bother with a JS because starting bid was too much for a ship without Royal Suite Class. If we would have gotten the extra point per night, we would have considered it but not worth it for a bigger cabin. Someone paid $500 to go from an inside to an oceanview😲

Question about Port Canaveral as a Port day??
reallyitsmema replied to slotmomma3's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Oasis sailing from Bayonne sometimes uses Terminal 6 for its port of call since terminal 1 is in use by a ship homeporting in Port Canaveral. -
We have dropped luggage at Cape Liberty before 10 am many times. We usually get there between 9:30am and 10am, no matter what our scheduled arrival time. Just follow the direction of the port workers.

Jewel of the Seas - Aft Facing

We have had 1100 and 7172 and soon have a center aft on deck 9. We loved 11. Huge balcony and great cabin. Some complain about noise from above but we didn't have any issues. 7172 has a narrower balcony. It is barely deep enough for a lounge chair to lay down flat but you just put them the other direction. We definitely heard the bass from the band below until 11 or midnight depending on the night but wasn't too bad. We prefer corners but are hoping our center aft is good. -
Question about Port Canaveral as a Port day??

Oasis should be going into Terminal 1 based on the port schedule, so really easy to get picked up there. We meet family there many times when we sail out of Bayonne and if we are coming into Terminal 1, many times they will wait for us at Grills restaurant, outside at the Tiki bar. They usually get there early to see the ship come in. It is a two minute walk for you once you come out of the terminal, just take a right and you can see the restaurants in The Cove beside the terminal. Fishlips is another one of them that people like to go to. https://www.portcanaveral.com/PortCanaveral/media/Communications/2023/CPA-Website-Schedule-Aug-Jan-2024.pdf -
Coastal Kitchen - explain what is so great
reallyitsmema replied to Cruise Gopher's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I am not sure if it is the difference in the number of suites on the ship or what, but when we have had a JS on a Quantum class ship, we have been able to reserve dinner in CK every night. On Oasis class, that has not been the case, it is typically only a few nights. -
There were issues with the app last week with people not being able to check in and then it cleared. I would just give it time. You aren't 45 days prior to your cruise anyway if you are sailing in December, so you have time.
-
Try logging out of the app and then back in again first. That clears up a lot of problems sometimes.

Coastal Kitchen - explain what is so great

Make sure you go to CK once you board and try to get a reservation. The first night is one of the busiest night and is not always available to those in JS. You will have a lot better chance of getting a reservation if you are sailing a Quantum class ship. -

The filet mignon on that menu is very good. The cauliflower steak is also something my DH gets every time but not as a meal, he gets that instead of the asparagus that comes with the filet. The bread basket and spreads in CK are delicious. The atmosphere and service are a lot better than the MDR. Try it, you might like it. -

Was that one Resurrection? The lead singer in DSB is much better than the one in Resurrection.
-
We are DSB fans too. Have seen them on Anthem a few times. There is another Journey tribute band that we saw on Anthem too and their lead singer was not as good.

There was a silver sea pass color for junior suites at one point but it didn't say silver member on it.

Payment Nightmare - A Cautionary Tale

Is that authorization hold only on prepaid cards? I have never seen a hold larger than what I have charged and it clears within a couple of days. -
Royal Upcharging on paid in full cruise?
reallyitsmema replied to RedJessi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The rep must have fat fingered the C&A number. We had an issue with a booking due to a C&A number but it was because, somehow, my DH ended up with two numbers. Must have been way back in the beginning of us cruising because I always used a specific number on all our bookings. During the shutdown, the cruise line did a clean up of the C&A database and got rid of duplicates and his number fell off our reservation as they kept the original. Not an issue with the fare as I have more points then him, so I am always the first name on the reservation. I noticed his number was gone when we got the cruise documents and he had no status, so our luggage tags showed no status. Took a phone call to C&A to find out what had happened. Too bad they didn't add numbers to bookings that were changed because of the clean up. Got docs reissued with right information and now have a note with both numbers just incase something happens in the future. -

Your booking ended up with TBD for the passengers too or was it just a dropped C&A number?
