It is a wonderful program. You send in your paperwork. From then on, every cruise you take, you receive onboard credit - $250 for 14 day cruises or longer, $100 for 7 – 13 day cruises, and $50 for 6 day or less cruises.

What helicopter company does HAL use for its Kauai Grand Helicopter shore excursion in Kauai?
-
We have three connecting balcony cabins on the Caribe deck on the Caribbean Princess. Can the room stewards open the doors between the balconies and leave them open for the entire cruise?

Princess Cruises offers up to $250 onboard credit for veterans as well as active, retired, or disabled military personnel. Does HAL have a program like this?

My daughter is getting married on the Caribbean Princess, out of Houston, in January 2016. We will be staying in a hotel near the Bayport Cruise Terminal. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hair & make-up person in this area? She is getting married before the ship sails, so the beauty salon on board is closed while in port.

We are booked into cabin C633 on the Caribe Deck. Looking at the deck plans, it looks like the life boats are directly under us. Are the life boats noticeable from the balcony of cabin 633?

We will be sailing on the Caribbean Princess and would like information on cabins.
We are looking at the balcony cabins on the Caribe 10 Deck, Aft ship. Are the balconies on these cabins bigger than other balcony cabin categories?
Are the mini-suites that much bigger than the balcony cabins? And are the balconies on the Dolphin 9 Deck, Aft ship, a good size?
Any information on cabins would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

We were just in Machu Picchu this May. We arrived in Cusco and immediately descended to the Sacred Valley to acclimate (altitude 9100 feet). We stayed a night in Ollantaytambo, then took the train to Aguas Calientes for another night stay. We then went on to Machu Picchu (altitude 7900 feet) for the day and then back to Ollantaytambo for the night and then two days in Cusco. We took Diamox, (you need to start this medication 24 hours prior to ascending). We drank Coca Tea, with a little sugar added, at every opportunity. None of us had any problems with altitude sickness, except for shortness of breath. Our trip to Ollantaytambo, with its huge Incan Ruins, the entire Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco is one of the highlights of our travels.
We were touring by ourselves (no tour group). If you take a tour group to Machu Picchu, try to take one that visits Cusco last. Cusco (altitude 11,200 feet) is better toured last when you body has acclimated.
If you have time, visit Puno (Lake Titicaca) and Arequipa. Peru is such a wonderful country.

The price for Unlimited Laundry is $7 a day. If you start Unlimited Laundry a couple days into the cruise, are you charged for the days, at the beginning of the cruise, when you were not using it?

Thanks so much for the National Parks info. Sounds like what we were looking for!

Does anyone have any information about a National Park of the American Samoa bus provided by the National Park Service? The ranger said the bus picks you up from the pier. Has anyone done this National Park's tour? Thanks!

After the cruise - Is a 12:30 PM flight out of San Diego too early? I’ve heard that getting off the ship in San Diego can be time consuming with many delays.

We thoroughly enjoyed all your post – thanks for taking us on your world cruise!
Looks like we will be on the Amsterdam together on the Tales of the South Pacific Cruise in October. Looking forward to meeting you.

Not sure about Hal but on a sister line, new key cards were on our bed the night before, and we just binged out as usual for our tour. Hal will let you know, and the BEST thing is you get to meet us as we are boarding that day!!:D
We are embarking in San Diego the same day that you are. (Can't wait to meet you!) I was wondering if embarkation would be earlier than 11:30 AM since no one is disembarking that morning. We want to board ASAP, drop our luggage, and then go to Seaport Village for a little while.

What time embarkation in San Diego, when the ship begins the cruise in Seattle and San Diego is not a disembarkation port, only an embarkation port?

Thanks for the help. This is a seven hour flight, so we are seriously considering purchasing the AA Main Cabin Extra.
We have never flown AA before. Why don't they have the seat back video screens?
-
Flying on American Airlines, Dallas to Lima, on a Boeing 757. AA offers “Main Cabin Extra” seating. How much extra legroom does this provide and is it worth the money? Thanks!

On the Amsterdam, is there an outside exit to the stern from the Dolphin Deck?
-
We walked - no problems. Just be aware of your surroundings anywhere in Rio.

Just off the Zuiderdam. The was no Dessert Extravaganza. Our waiter said that they have done away with this event because no one attended. Is this fleet wide?
-
Hey Dave -
Great meeting you and your wife on the Zuiderdam and Congrats on your 4-Star Mariner status. We can't wait for that free laundry!!!

Just of the Zuiderdam (Oct 27 sailing / 11-Day Panama Canal Sunfarer) –
We purchased the WiFi@Sea, unlimited WiFi for $149.99. It was a huge improvement over the old internet packages offered before. We were using our own computers and tablets, so log on was fast. I did notice that if I was using my tablet on my verandah, it was slower than if I was in my room.
-
We'll be waving to all our wonderful Cruise Critic friends as we sail away on the zuiederdam today!!

I carry a small cross body bag. Never leave the cabin without my camera and it fits nicely inside this bag.
Honolulu - The Bus or Taxi to Arizona Memorial
in Hawaii
Posted
We want to visit the Arizona Memorial. Should we take The Bus or taxi from the Aloha Tower Cruise Terminal to the Arizona Memorial? We will be in port in Honolulu on a Sunday.
Do the buses run on Sundays? If we took The Bus, which number bus and where do we pick up The Bus?
How much is a taxi from the Aloha Tower to the memorial?
Thanks!
