  1. Are the rumors about Majestic Princess replacing Harmony Chinese restaurant with Sabitin's and converting the noodle bar on deck to  a Slice true?  And if they are true when is the change expected?

I wish I had that problem. After using the App for some time, now I can't even log in! If I try to use the Web based check in option I can't log in to that either, yet I successfully log in to my Princess account to get to that stage. Go figure.

I was hoping someone here would have a miracle cure but it looks like I have to call Princess. Hours of my life gone that I will never get back!

I have the same problem:  the usual princess.com log in did not work on the web based app.  What did work was the second log in option:  first name, last name, booking number, date of birth.  Give that a try.

  3. I tried using my usual princess.com log in (e-mail address and password) but no luck.  What did work was the second option. first name, last name, booking number, birthdate. Give that a try.  Unfortunately I've come across a lot of the same problems that the people with the app have been talking about for months.  But then, why not?  It was probably designed by the same people.

Thanks everyone!!  First time on Princess so this was a new and unexpected chore!  I like online check in and paper print outs myself lol 😄

Believe me, a lot of us here couldn't agree more with you.  It used to be so simple:  15 minutes to fill out the online paperwork and print out your boarding pass and luggage tags.  Show up at the pier and present your passport and credit card.  Security takes your photo as you board . . . that's it.  We keep hearing that online check in is coming back for those that prefer it but no sign of it yet.

I have a question:  If I can't download the app, can I do my check in at the pier since we can't do it online?  I'm stressing over this, my phone is old and I'm not spending $1000 on a new one when this one works just fine - as a phone 😄

All reports here are saying yes, you can check in at the pier; just be sure you have your proof of vaccination card, your proof of a negative COVID test, your Passport, and some are suggesting a print out of your Travel Summary.  I'm traveling with two others and none of us has a smartphone or other device.  Our PVP ordered medallions for us, to be shipped to our homes, but I'm hearing that medallions can be provided at the pier also.

So stop stressing about this . . . we did.

If your that worried about being tracked wrap your medallion in a piece of aluminum foil. It works just as good & makes it easier to fit.

I think the sleeve would be a lot more convenient than unwrapping and wrapping the medallion back up every time I wanted to use it.

Since I don't plan to read all 71 pages of postings of which many of them seem to be addressing problems and frustrations with the Medallion app, here's a question:

Why do we have to download this app at all?  We don't intend to use it for the waiter to find us to serve drinks, so can we do without?

The short answer is yes, you can do without the app.  You will need the medallion to open your cabin door and pay for drinks and other purchases; but the app and the medallion are two separate entities.  The app operates through your smartphone or other smart device, but the medallion doesn't need the app to provide its two basic functions.

  8. There seems to be no end to the problems this Medallion and app system has caused.  Ever since Princess went online you filled everything out at your leisure,  printed luggage tags and boarding pass 75 days out . . . DONE!  Present your passport and credit card at check-in and go aboard. So simple.

  9. It doesn't do any good to get there too early--you'll just be waiting for check-in to begin, which is usually about 11:00. You'll be assigned a boarding group according to your check-in order. Wedding parties, travelers needing assistance, suite, Elite, and Platinum passengers go first, in that order. Then everybody else, according to your group. So 11:00 is a good time--you'll have to wait a little but not too long.
