Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. My parents and I were also on this cruise and had a wonderful time. Staff on the ship were wonderful, our steward was one of the best we've had on NCL. Ate at Cagney's, Los Lobos, La Cucina, Teppenyaki, Bamboo and the buffet and the food was wonderful everywhere. Buffet was a little small, but never had too long of a wait for a table and people were always willing to share. Was sad to miss Liverpool, but ship (and weather) happens. 😁 Was my first trip on the Dawn and loved it immensely. Would be happy to sail her again.
  2. Can't wait to read the trip report! I love your (always well-balanced) reviews, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of Iceland and Norway, since I'm going there in 2025!
  3. We were just on the Joy 3 weeks ago and @KeithJennerhas it right - used the coupon in Teppanyaki and it covered the full amount for 2 people.
  4. @KeithJennerThank you for the pictures on Kirkwall! We're taking the Dawn next year for a British Isles cruise and were just talking about going on this tour. Looks great!
  5. We took the bus last week, and there's a pink tent right outside the port building to catch the bus.
  6. Just got off today and saw a lot of new crew members heading towards the ship. Enjoy!!!
  7. I'm also on this cruise, and I heard them call for all passengers with shore excursions, then for certain decks several times for both US and non-US citizens. We're in the Haven and were done at 1pm.
  8. That's my question. We're on a round trip Canada/New England from New York in a month. I've read that Canada doesn't require testing for vaccinated travelers, but I'm still confused.
  9. There's a reason we called him "The Fixer!!" 😁
  10. @tatertotslady I'm not the OP, but I was on the April 22 cruise, and we really enjoyed the Love Brothers in the smaller venues. Fire and Ice were also really good - if they do a Tina Turner show, it's not to be missed. Honestly, I loved all the musicians. Really good group of entertainers on the Jewel.
  11. My parents and I just got off May 2, and we also loved Francis!! For entertainment, we really enjoyed the Love Brothers and the Tina Turner show Fire & Ice did in the theater. We had a wonderful time, hope you do too!!
  12. Just was in ISP last week. There's two gondolas - one to the cannery area that's free, and then one that goes up the mountain. From the new dock to the cannery is about half a mile through the woods if you want to walk - I walked one way and took the gondola back. The other one was $53 for unlimited trips if you bought the ticket at the dock. The trip up the mountain is beautiful (and high), but there's not a lot up there if you're not zip lining. I was glad to do it once, but I don't think I'd go on a future visit. Hope this helps, and happy to answer any other questions!
  13. It was about 20 minutes to get into town once the shuttle left. We waited maybe 10 minutes for the shuttle to fill and then left...there was another one coming in right behind us.
  14. Back to the ship. Last shuttle to town was 1:30.
  15. Was just at Ward Cove on NCL 2 days ago...there's a shuttle bus to Ketchican that was free of charge. Dropped us off at Port 2. Last shuttle was at 2:30 for a 4pm departure.
