  1. Margaritaville does look great, but for three nights a little pricey for me. We decided on the Riverside. Even there, the tower rooms are not cheap, but I’ve stayed a few times and never had a problem. I can’t remember the pool situation (I think it’s behind the hotel?) but the location will be fine for restaurants and shopping. I was at ES last spring, but it was so crowded and outdated. I probably won’t return unless it’s just a quick one night before the cruise and using points. Thanks all.
  2. I just saw this offer for our Equinox cruise in March. Has anyone done this? Do you get to choose the restaurants? Thanks.
  3. Staying three nights pre-cruise in FLL. We don’t have to stay right on 17th St, but near to restaurants. Looking for the nicest pool area.
  4. My recommendation would be to take the Rhône River Cruise through Provence with Avalon or Uniworld the first week of September.
  5. ReliefBand has a BOGO Black Friday sale https://www.reliefband.com/
  6. I’ve been using TravelSafe Classic for the past few years. They do not make you insure every last penny in order to keep the pre-existing condition waiver. I only insure enough to get myself on a plane home in case of emergency. They paid my last claim in full within two weeks when I had to cancel for a medical reason. https://tripinsurancestore.com/how-travel-insurance-pre-existing-medical-conditions-coverage-works/?gclid=CjwKCAiA_MPuBRB5EiwAHTTvMQB1IDqB5sPAOdG0JAXi_Wsgfegkp5gDtwkDe_P8_tHPmtB8FE7uzhoCkxIQAvD_BwE

  8. I was on TAP from Barcelona to the US with a change of planes in Lisbon in September. My only problem was finding their check in desk at the Barcelona airport. (I must have walked past it three times. It’s tucked back in a corner, I think #514 or thereabouts.) Other than that, the flight to Lisbon was fine - no worse than American or United for a couple hours.
  9. I just flew TAP from Barcelona to Newark with a stop in Lisbon, business class. No problems at all. The lie flat seats were comfortable, food was fine, and we made it to New York a half hour early. I booked with Celebrity Air for a little over $1k ( one way) when the other airlines wanted almost $4k. If you join their FF club, you can get a “fast track” through Barcelona security.
  10. Will you have a car, or are you taking the train to Seward? If you can get to Whittier from Seward ( and it won’t be cheap), the 26 glacier cruise will guarantee no seasickness, whereas the Kenai Fjords will be a much rougher ride if you don’t get lucky, and you won’t know the sea conditions until the day of the tour. If the kids want to see animals, the Seward Sealife Center is great. You can even catch a glimpse of some sea otters in the bay from the benches outside the center. The tours from both Whittier and Seward are long days for little ones.
  11. Gosh, thanks for posting the above link. We are on the slant by the bump-out, too. Housekeeping supervisor came by and said that she would investigate. Of course the noise had stopped when she was here. I’m going to record it on my phone the next time it happens.
  12. The One Hotel is wonderful. Every detail is covered to make you feel welcome. When I asked the concierge if there were an ATM nearby, he sent a bellman to walk with me a couple blocks so that I wouldn’t get lost. They have a beautiful spa and the rooftop pool and restaurant, “Mood,” are lovely as well. https://www.hotelstheone.com/en?utm_source=Google My Business&utm_medium=Boton sitio web&utm_campaign=HTO Their five star rating is certainly deserved. Winner in the "Best Urban Hotel in Spain" category in Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List.
  13. Currently sailing on the Reflection r/t Barcelona (6243). Is anyone else experiencing noise throughout the day? It sounds like they are lowering the tenders. It’s a loud, grating noise and really makes it hard to relax in your cabin. Housekeeping knows nothing about it. Thanks.
  14. Yes, I have bought this insurance several times and had two claims. The first time, the claim process was IMO unnecessarily complicated, but the second time, my claim was paid within two weeks with no problem.
