  1. Though even then, on a TA, you might not consider a full balcony on the North side of the ship preferable to a sheltered balcony on the sunny side.
  2. The waiters were wonderful and kind. And undoubtedly worthy of an additional gratuity. I was allowed out after six days, just in time to enjoy Liverpool. The bizarre thing is that my husband, who was allowed out, though not to eat in the restaurants, was tested every day, and never caught it, despite sharing a cabin with me. Strange disease.
  3. If you want to be historical, the Atlantic Hotel was built to house Hamburg America’s passengers before departure. Somewhat bathetically, I see it is now a Marriott.
  4. Surely that wording is reasonable. They should only order people where it is a matter of safety. Ordering people to dress a certain way for dinner trivialises really important commands such as wearing life jackets etc when taking to the boats, etc. That said, I think people who ignore the suggestions are very silly.
  5. No reason why you should, and I probably wouldn’t visit, were it not for the voucher. But, if you’ve got a bit of credit, it might be worth using it on one of them.
  6. Depending of course on how much that dangerous sea air causes it to shrink. 😀
  7. Part of the Lido is converted into a proper restaurant every evening, such as La Piazza for Italian. They rotate throughout the cruise, and are all jolly nice. Diamonds get a voucher, otherwise it is $25, I think.
  8. It is also up to passengers not to break them, which is how the majority behave.
  9. As far as the food in any of the Veranda’s goes, I never feel it is worth forsaking the QG for. We do use our diamond vouchers, but in the pop ups.
  10. I was distraught at the time. 😀 But there were a couple of good points. None of it went over anybody, amazingly, and only about a glass actually came out before I grabbed it, but, believe me, a glass goes a long way. Anyway, I got my comeuppance, for the next day I tested positive for Covid and was confined, so I couldn’t knock another bottle over in the restaurant.
  11. I think there are some lecturers who don’t allowed their lectures to be televised. I can’t think who now. Sorry.
  12. Do you know what special things are arranged for your maiden voyage on the unnamed ship, if any?
  13. Thank you. I wasn’t sure about the Q4s, hence my reticence. 😀
  14. Q5s and Q6s do not have separate shower cubicles, and the one over the bath is not easily accessible as the bath is high sided.
  15. And basic trigonometry shows that the higher you are the greater the extent of the movement when the ship rolls. But, I would always go for higher up, because the horizon is so much further away and more distinct (assuming it isn’t foggy), and fixing your eyes on the unmoving horizon is supposed to be calming.
