  1. Hi @maggieq Enjoy it! We have been to NYC a bunch of times during/since Covid and have survived without incident. 😉🙂
  2. We did not find the sound level bad. We were on second level to side of stage. Have a great time. He still puts on quite a show.
  3. Ha, I think the "moss" effect is also caused by the confetti. We have no problem with big crowds. As you know from my previous posts, we love Kenny Chesney and are happy to see him in any venue! Part of the fun of his concerts is the crowd and the tailgating. Understand, however, that you can only do what you are comfortable with...
  4. Happy 2024, everyone. We went to the Billy Joel concert at the UBS Arena, New York Photo taken at midnight. Concert was great.
  5. I don't know for sure @firefly333 but reason OP might be considering Venezia is perhaps it is local for them. (We have only done Carnival once before, but we are in NY/NJ area and the ship looks nice, it is going in our case to at least one port we have not been to before and one we have been to only once, and it is an easy drive from home).
  6. We have been on Oasis more than once and the last time was with our son and 3 of his kids ages 6, 4, 2. They loved it. Pools, slides/play areas, kids club, carousel, etc. My husband and I will be on Venezia in February and perhaps can comment better then. We have heard pools / pool areas are small. We like to try different ships and cruise lines, and were interested once we saw this ship was leaving from NYC. But this has nothing to do with what might appeal to kids...
  7. I purchased a balcony guarantee, got assigned a cove balcony (under the galley). I checked every day until I saw a regular balcony available and called and switched for the price difference. So, that can be done.
  8. Beautiful view of Manhattan this evening from the Chart House restaurant in New Jersey. I know I have posted pics from here before.
  9. We did a similar walking tour my husband found on the Royal Caribbean blog. Some photos below. Like you we had been there several times before. FYI we have done the day pass at Margaritaville. It is nice and ok if you have a really full day at Nassau. It has gotten more expensive and no food or drinks included so somewhat debatable.
  10. We have seen both that violinist and comedienne on a Royal cruise, I think Anthem. I agree they were very entertaining. Continue to have a great time, and safe travels. 🚢 🎄
  11. Have a most wonderful time @island lady and thank you for updating us periodically!
  12. I am one that loves made-to-order omelettes. It is just a nice thing about vacation. I don't have all those ingredients sitting around my house. I usually cruise Royal and will be disappointed if they disappear there. They had pre-made ones at the buffet on my last cruise which was on MSC and they were pretty awful. (You could get made--to-order in the MDR.) My next cruise is on the Venezia. Hoping for made-to-order but doesn't sound like it based on comments here.
  13. Saratoga Lake, Saratoga Springs, New York looking pretty yesterday. We love to visit Saratoga Springs. It's an easy 2hr 45min drive from our home. Great town, history, restaurants, shops, and nature/scenery.
  14. Our first MSC cruise was last month on the Meraviglia. We enjoyed the Aurea experience. We were able to board within minutes of checking-in due to priority boarding. We had a deck 12 midship balcony. We loved the anytime dining. We typically arrived around 7 - 7:30pm and were brought immediately to a window table for 2. We have cruised a lot on Royal and the handling of "my time dining" has really declined and involves a wait. Other things about Royal (particularly the Loyalty program) are hard to beat. We typically don't go to the spa on a cruise, but took advantage of and enjoyed the thermal area included for Aurea on MSC. We could not take advantage of the private "Solarium" due to the weather on this cruise, but checked it out and it looked inviting. Enjoy your cruise, @Railwaylass
  15. Hi, did you get an email with the offer or you found it within your cruise reservation? Thanks and enjoy your cruise.
  16. Probably my favorite thing ever..... magnetic hooks for walls. Gives you extra places for hanging hats, bags, wet bathing suits or exercise clothes, etc. If you don't have any, search Neomusk magnetic hooks on Amazon for an example. Enjoy your cruise!
  17. We were on the same cruise (Meraviglia) and it was our first MSC one and we also enjoyed it. Even though we get 5 free drinks a day on Royal (how can you not miss that), we found a lot of positive. In our case, found the ship beautiful, loved the "anytime" dining experience, and the diversity and quality of musical entertainment. Our biggest negative was the buffet, particularly for breakfast. Terribly organized and linear in nature. As a result, we went to the MDR the last 3 days of the cruise. Happy cruising!

    MAGNETS

We have a bunch and they are very handy. Search, for example, Neosmuk magnetick hooks on Amazon. They are available in various "strengths." We got the 100lb ones (although lesser strength is fine).
  19. We went over to Cocoa Village (a town no where near Cocoa Beach). It was about a 15 minute Uber ride. Nice town with lots of shops and restaurants and a river walk area. We had lunch there. We have already been to NASA and Disney independent of cruising. We also have been to Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon. The weather was not good for the beach anyway, so this worked out great. I think my husband had read about the town in Southern Living magazine.
  20. So sorry for your experience, OP. We were on the same cruise and did enjoy it. It helped that we have been to Bermuda already on multiple cruises. We had been to Port Canaveral and the Bahamas before also, but found some different things to do this time. We were not bothered by any "turbulence" as we have been on much worse, but this certainly varies by the individual. We take a Bonine over-the-counter tablet daily on a cruise and it seemed to do the trick in this case as well. We had not been on MSC before and really enjoyed the diversity of musical entertainment and many other features on the ship. We did the Aurea experience and were on deck 12 mid-ship. Our only negative part of the cruise really was the buffet due to it's rectangular design and "linear" approach. It was a bit of a zoo, particularly for breakfast, so we went to the MDR for breakfast for the last few days. We loved the anytime dining experience for dinner. We were immediately brought to a window table .... typically had dinner around 7 - 7:30pm. Glad you got home safely and wish you happier cruises ahead.
