Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Buddists will be celebrating Bodhi day. I know people use lard to make soap; not many cook with it any more, although it's good for pastry crust. It might be fun to pretend to be a time traveler. Interesting quote. Yes for the meal if there's no shredded coconut in it. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Easter Island, but would like to see it. It is 52F and sunny right now! It feels great. But cold and rain is coming later in the week. I was up and out to go to the big box store before the highway got clogged with folks going to the Steelers game. Then had to put everything away, including a trip downstairs to the chest freezer. Finally then sitting down to check out the Daily. Later I'll work some more on my jumbled kitchen. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Remembering all who were lost on Pearl Harbor Day. It was very moving to visit there. I'm not a cotton candy fan. I'll salute the National Fire Safety Council and Civil Aviation. I agree with the quote. I like butternut squash ravioli, so probably would like the lasagna. Pass on the drink (just unadulterated champagne please) and maybe for the wine. I haven't been to Dalian. The sun is out and we may make it to above freezing, with a warmup to 50F tomorrow! Not much going on here. I'm still organizing in the kitchen, and have yet to get the DR table cleared off. Is there a doctor there you can ask to see about the BP? It seems that is limiting your ability to do rehab. @ger_77 I have the same issue. I looked at my old digital thermostat and think it's only 2 wires and the Nest I was looking at needs 3 I think. There are some workarounds, but not DIY as far as I'm concerned. I may look into having an HVAC person do it down the road. @AncientWanderer Oh my on tripping and hurting your knee! Do we need to send bubble wrap for you? 😉 @SusieKIslandGirl I'm glad Loren got an appointment with the surgeon so quickly. @kazu We'd like to hear from you, whether it's something positive or negative. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Mitten trees are a good idea. Pawnbrokers serve a purpose. I like Pfeffernusse, and have made them in the past, although it's involved. Good quote from a favorite author of mine. The muffins sound good; I've just been searching for high protein muffin recipes online. I'll pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Las Palmas. 2 good days in history. Another cold day, currently 28F. We had some snow overnight, but it was mainly on the grass. The wind was wicked yesterday, and has died down some. I had to be up and out to PT this morning. Then I stopped at the grocery store, which is in the same plaza. Now I can finally sit down and rest a bit, although the kitchen needs to be tidied up from yesterday's baking. My endurance is still not great. Sadly, today they found the body of the grandmother who fell down the sinkhole into an abandoned mine. @Cat in my lap Happy Birthday Natalie! @RedneckBob I'm sorry to hear you're not as mobile/active as in the past, and hopefully that's temporary. The knee acts up when it wants to. It felt pretty good at PT, so I did some step exercises. Now it's so-so. @smitty34877 It's funny how when we've been restricted for a bit, little things like going to the grocery store are a big deal. @Nickelpenny That "counseling" is the non-fun part of teaching, but necessary. @Cruzin Terri Schedule some time in there to relax! @marshhawk You've had a busy day. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. 3 interesting days, although I'm not sure about Bathtub Party. A sweet quote. Yes to the meal; although carby I really like corn chowder. Maybe for the drink and yes on the wine. I have been to St. Thomas, but haven't been to St. John Island. 3 good days in history, especially repeal of prohibition. Brrrr. It's very windy, 24F, feels like 10F. A strange night. There was thundersnow around midnight, with thunder and lightning. There's only about an inch of snow, mainly on the grass, but some slick spots on the roads this AM per the news. Sadly the search for the missing grandmother is now a recovery rather than a rescue; I've seen the State Police information officer over the years, and this was the most distraught I've seen him. Very sad. I just took the holiday bread dough out of the fridge; it needs to sit about 5 hours, then be shaped, rest another 2 hours, then be baked. Meanwhile I'll work again on clearing the dining room table off. @SusieKIslandGirl Prayers for you and Loren as you see the Oncologist today. @StLouisCruisers Enjoy your day of rest today. Good Morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn and all contributors. I'll celebrate Cabernet Franc grapes as they are used in Cabernet Sauvignon, my preferred wine. Cheetahs are beautiful and banks are useful. It's also National Cookie Day! Funny quote. The pie sounds good. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Fukuoka. 3 good days in history. It's very windy here and 30F. Snow will start overnight, but only 1-2" forecast. They are still searching for the woman who they feel fell down a sink hole, but with underground mines out that way it's a treacherous search. Praying for a good outcome. I've started serious work on the holiday bread. The nuts are chopped and I'll make the dough soon. It's a very wet dough and hard to handle. It has to sit in the fridge overnight before being shaped and baked. I'm feeling better since I'm not taking the extra dose of BP medication. It's a chilly 31F, with some sunshine. We're supposed to get some snow Wed night into Thursday morning. I had to be up and out for my eye appointment this morning. I like the doctor, but she tends to run late because she spends time with her patients. Then I had PT, and had to pick up a prescription. Just getting a chance to get back to the Daily. Thankfully no appointments the next 2 days, so I can get something done around here (fatigue allowing). They are searching a sink hole in the next county over for a woman who was out looking for her cat yesterday. Last night they found her car with her 5 yo DGD inside, who was unhurt. Everyone is hoping the grandmother is still alive. Plus it's so cold out. @StLouisCruisers I hope you've had a good day today. @grapau27 Exciting news about your upcoming retirement! It's hard when you're on limited fluids as you can't just drink to fix it. Sorry to hear there are no rehab beds in your county. But you mentioned a new place, so I guess they found a bed. @cruising sister My Christmas cactus has a couple of buds this year. It's in my dining room where it gets natural light during the day, but it's fairly dark in there at night. It did nothing last year. @RMLincoln I have the same remembrance of going to Radio City at Christmas as a kid, and it being a movie, some entertainment and the Rockettes. @Seasick Sailor Sorry to hear about Allen's COPD diagnosis, and I hope it's not too far advanced. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll celebrate mutts, safety razors, and special education. Nice quote. I'll pass on the meal (not a kale fan), maybe for the drink (never tried it) and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Santa Rosalia. 2 important days in history. We had some light snow overnight. It's 28F out and we may not make 30! I had planned to get some things done today, but got an early call from a doctor's office. I had called on Friday about an issue and told them the central scheduler couldn't get me in until January; they're going to see me this afternoon. I did get my chicken taco chili in the slow cooker, and the fruit and nuts prepped for the holiday bread. Tomorrow I've got PT and an eye exam with my uveitis specialist. @kochleffel Bon Voyage Paul! @StLouisCruisers You do have a full week. When my mother had a high humeral fracture, she didn't keep the sling on due to her dementia.
