  1. Sorry to hear Greg but your and Linda's good health is the most important thing. Plenty of time for cruises
  2. I definitely feel an affinity to some reviewers, though I am thankful to anyone who attempts one. Currently enjoying one from Jim_Iain over on the Celebrity page. It's up to 40 pages and is from Singapore to Australia
  3. Feeling your pain with your dad. My mum suffered for almost 10 years. A very proud independent lady who I think of every day. I won't go into the struggles she overcome but she is my role modal for living a positive happy and healthy life. Loving your blog as usual. Your warmth shines through. We're off to Singapore in February, my first visit back after living there as a forces brat in the 60s. I better get a move on, I'm only on page 14 😊
  4. No idea, think its historic. As I said it's being lowered from 01Sept 23 to 65, but us guys who are over 65 but below 70 will have to wait till over 70 which is a bit frustrating
  5. We don't get it on the NHS until 70, though they are lowering that to 65. I could pay privately but I think it around £500
  6. Sorry to hear George, hope its mild though it sounds quite bad. My second bout in August I still have a cough, on antibiotics at mo to try and clear it up but no luck so far
  7. Happened to us in Egypt. We were very careful but still got 'the trots' think it was ice from the ice machine in hotel
  8. Oh wow Mark, what am awfully worrying time for all the family. I'm so glad for you all that you've had a fast and positive outcome.
  9. We use cul-de-sac too, as a noun, such as 'that road is a cul-de-sac'. Close is part of the road name. So King Close, instead of King Road
  10. Post pics Graham, love snow. Hubby loves it too but he spent his formative youth in Winnipeg in the 60s and 70s so he's use to having to dig his way out of his front door
  11. No snow here in the South Graham, just frost. Loved seeing all the frosted webs in the woods yesterday, so beautiful. Today is a little warmer but rainy 🌧. I prefer cold and frosty/snowy over cold and rainy. Going to get the Christmas lights down today to check they're still working and start decorating. Will get our tree on Wednesday
  12. Thanks for doing the report, and Happy 20th anniversary ❤️ We were on Symphony at the beginning of the European season. Was October a pleasant month to travel ? Not too hot not too chilly?
  13. We use to live in a Close when we lived in Sussex. The road we're in now is also a close but not called that . Great for kids to playing in the street as only people who live in our road (or visiting) would come down it.
  14. Thank you, yes came home late Wednesday. Normally he has nursery Thursday and Friday but we baby sat yesterday at his house. He was full of beans, though still no appetite. Today he went back to nursery
  15. As someone who worked for large international airlines for over 40 years and had to deal with denied boarding at the sharp end, this is not true at least not for large international airlines. Anyone on a free mileage ticket is a valued frequent flyer. Why would they upset their most valued customers. Nonrevs are staff, and even they get looked after if they are confirmed and away from their base station. We would offer a sweet deal to pax who would still make their onward connections if they travelled on the next flight. We always got volunteers
  16. He's happily playing in the children's ward playroom. Still breathing heavily and obviously still full of cold but they're hoping the Dr's say he can go home tonight, depends how the day goes. 🤞
  17. Yesterday was our weekly babysitting day with our 2yr 8mth grandson. He has a cold and cough but initially looked pretty much OK as just had his baby medicine and inhaler. But we decided to miss out on our normal music class and play ground visit due to the cold. But we did feed the ducks, probably a mistake as he was running around for a few minutes in the cold air. Things went downhill as the day progressed and it ended up in A@E and overnight stay in hospital as his wheezing had started again and the Dr's need to monitor his oxygen when he is sleeping.
  18. In my opinion that's rubbish and a huge generalisation. My next guarantee cruise I've bought ship tours for each port and specialised dinner reservations already. Always prepay gratuities and tip on top. I guess I just assumed that guarantee meant guarantee, not maybe you'll get a cabin, maybe you won't .
