  1. Are you in or near the British Isles? Princess puts kettles in cabins for those cruises.
  2. Thank you! Midnight works for me. We loved sailing on the small ships (Ocean and Pacific) but I could never find anything open past 11 so I was hoping the Island would have something a little later.
  3. Were they open late? I like to get a cup of tea before bed and am trying to figure out where to do that on a ship without an International Cafe. Thanks
  4. Could someone please comment on what Amuleto is on the Island Princess. I know there is no International Cafe on that ship so are the hours in this part of Horizon Court longer or are more coffees or light snacks available there? Thanks
  5. Just know that on S-class ships the MDR kitchen is really far from Blu so when you get something from there it means someone has to spend a lot of time getting your order. Try to eat during non busy times (like after 8 ) so the already stressed staff isn't even more stressed because they're short handed while someone is getting that special order). You can always also ask to see the next day's menu(s) so you can give them a heads up in advance.
  6. I think it depends on the Maitre D' in Blu. (And possibly your waiter) We were on the Equinox for 5 weeks last winter and the Maitre D' (and our wonderful waiter) were totally fine with letting people order off menu items that were available from the MDR. But we've been in Blu many times when that wasn't allowed.
  7. I got a couple of cute bracelets from Jilzarah to match different outfits. You can get them from Amazon or the Jilzarah website. The plastic containers the Medallion comes in connect to the keychain. https://www.amazon.com/JILZARAH-Wrist-Keychain-Black-White/dp/B074KM9Y6Q/ref=asc_df_B007TKYR44/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309789203943&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11315640252714521421&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1016503&hvtargid=pla-583155089163&th=1 https://jilzarah.com/ ***
  8. But when is the last time your cabin steward was able to get a bar of soap for you? Posts on here seem to indicate that Princess was no longer restocking the bars .
  9. No problem. I guess we’d better bring our own lotion too. I hadn’t thought about that.
  10. Who knew asking a simple question about a (boring) bar of soap could go where this has! 🤣 🤣 🤣
  11. I got bar soap by asking the room steward last winter.
  12. We will be on the Sapphire this coming fall and I wondered if it's still possible to get bar soap in the cabin or it's all the liquid stuff. (Just want to know if we have to bring our own) Thanks all!
  13. I understand why you got that impression. I think the rep you spoke to was just trying to "sell" to a customer she already had rather than take the chance you might change your mind.
  14. I think you’re more likely to get an answer if you start a new thread with exactly that question. It’s a valid concern and , as I said before, we don’t usually sail in suites ( so this doesn’t impact us at all ) but I think for the extra you pay you definitely should receive that service.
  15. My husband is a vegan and nothing on that menu looks like an entree to me! Lots of side dishes. 😞
  16. You have no idea what a relief it is NOT to have to do the safety drill on B2b cruises. We did B2B2B2B last year on Celebrity and got so we stood in the back with the crew and almost recited the drill by heart. On Princess during the second (or third or fourth) leg of a B2B we go sit at a nice quiet pool or bar and have a relaxing drink (just make sure to order before the drill starts).
  17. We don’t usually travel in suites but I definitely think that room service should be included for that category. It’s just tacky to charge for delivery to a suite!!!
  18. So sorry to hear this Jeannie!!! 😞 I hope it's a mild case and you are better real soon!
  19. I agree with @StevenUS above. If you order from the app you get it delivered to wherever you are on the ship, which should include your room. If you order from the phone that is room service. If you pay the $14.99 and order from the app and get a $5 fee on top of that I would go to Guest Services and complain.
  20. Thanks for the quick response. This seems to me to be the most inefficient use of resources they could think of. Considering how busy those operators are, especially at peak times, using them to list options that could be available in readable form (in at least three ways I can think of) is the most idiotic solution they could have come to. I would imagine that ordering a simple pot of coffee when one wakes up will now take hours on hold while that poor operator reads all of the breakfast options to others who could have easily read a printed version before they placed the call. 😡
  21. Has anyone had experience with changing REFUNDABLE deposit bookings or were all of these bookings above done with non-refundable deposits? Just wondered if that made a difference.
  22. Ordering on the phone works great when you know what you want and what is available. If seeing what's available isn't possible (via the TV or a paper menu) then how does one know what the choices are?
  23. We don’t drink those at home either but we’ve discovered some good inexpensive wines on cruises. Catena (years ago) and just recently a pretty good Sauvignon Blanc that was listed as $50/bottle in a restaurant but $12 at Costco.
  24. I just checked and the sale seems to be 5% off the upgrade price, NOT 50%. $20 down to $18.99. In this case the Elite Plus discount is still better.
