Thanks Twangster for your review, photos, and video.
I actually met you a few years ago, on Ovation Alaska in May 2019. We were on line at Guest Services (I think the first day?) and I commented on your awesome Windjammer t-shirt.

Yes, this is the way it has always been. Upgrades to comp offers must paid in full at the time of booking.
Thanks for confirming. That's very good to know for the future.

My wife and I booked a (casino) comp cruise the other day... a 4- nighter.
Comp was for an Interior, but we paid to upgrade to a JS. Our first time "upgrading" a comp offer. We had to pay in full at the time of booking. Has this always been "a thing"? Where if you use a comp offer, you need to pay in full - even if you upgrade?
Thank you!

A few times in the past, I've booked a specialty restaurant on Night 1 or 2 beforehand via the cruise planner.
Then onboard, we let them know we want to use the D+ BOGO - and they refund one dinner as OBC.

Good to know. We stayed in one on Adventure of the Seas in 2019, but didn’t get any suite benefits (or were unaware that we should have). We got it through RoyalUp, so maybe that was why.
Hmmm... sorry to hear that.
I'm pretty sure you are supposed to get all the suite benefits when you Royal Up.
The only thing you wouldn't get are the double-points (if your original stateroom wasn't a suite.)
We're booked in an OV Panoramic Suite in 2022... hopefully suite benefits remain.

It does not include suite benefits, but does have a separate bedroom, separate room with bunk beds, a sitting area and bathroom between the bedrooms. YouTube has some videos that will show you much easier than an explanation here will.
According to this, it does include suite benefits.

Unless things have changed and the site hasn't been updated.

Thanks for that info and surprised to hear about Thrifty/Dollar as that was a great location. Perhaps some other company has or will take that location.
Just Googled the address and it does look like Budget/Avis/Payless has set up shop there. Good choice !!
Budget/Payless is 2520 Miami Road, Thrifty/Dollar is (or was) down the road 2400 Miami Road.
Will look into that, thank you!
Again, "worst" case scenario is returning the car to FLL.

We've used Thrifty/Dollar just outside the PE terminal gate Miami Road and also Budget on 17th Street. I believe these are still operating.
I created a separate thread about this in October (just bumped it up) - but it seems that the Thrifty/Dollar right outside PE Terminal is no longer open.
Tried to reserve for a sailing in March, but I'm unable to. Called, got no answer. And tried to make a dummy-booking for other dates later in the year... couldn't do that either.
I may have to look into Budget now. Or just return the car at FLL and taxi/uber to the port.

Bumping this up...
I've called a few times (no answer)... the location isn't listed anymore on the Thrifty or Dollar websites.
Going to assume they have closed.
Damn, loved this location too... always used them before sailing out of Port Everglades.

I have heard casino members randomly getting offers so check the clubroyaleoffer site on a regular basis as you never know when something may show up in there.
Once you do start to get offers on their website hopefully they will roll in on a regular basis. During the last couple of months we were receiving free cruise offers for various itineraries just about every week (we are both prime).
if you have any sailings prior to March 31st she can use the other perks such as free cocktails, free bottled water from casino bar and no fee for cash advances.
Also, the 7 night free annual prime cruise for interior can be upgraded to any cabin type, usually very reasonable upgrade fee and can be used for any cruise anywhere in the world. We have used for baltic and med cruises as well as caribbean cruises.
Now you should work on becoming prime then you can turn your freebies into b2b sailings. Plus all the other free cruise offers you may receive in the future.
Have fun cruising and playing the casino🤩
Thank you. She was getting offers, even before she "officially" hit Prime. We actually used one which she got early on during the pandemic for a free interior last November (which ended up being cancelled, of course). We are aware that we can pay to upgrade.
Earlier this year, offers were mainly $100 or $200 off here and there. Over the past few months, there have been others - interiors, but mainly for the short FL and Cali sailings and a few 7-nighters. The Anthem sailing we were on last week was an offer also, but it was after final payment so we couldn't do much of anything (we tried, lol).
Better for us that the Prime offer will be in April. Have Wonder in March and would not be able to cruise before then. Maybe something before October because that's when we are on Voyager (that's a bucket list ship... closes out the class for us). The little things 🙂
We did know about the free drinks in the casino, thank you. Who knows with that, as we're both D+ and there were a few days when we hadn't even used all 5 vouchers/coupons. But it's nice to have options!
Thank you everyone for your input and useful tips. There's only so much vacation time that my wife and I both have... esp when a lot is mapped out already! ha

Go to clubroyaleoffers.com and put in your last name and Crown and Anchor number. You should see your info. and any offers.
Thank you, we did (and know to do) that.
It's why I indicated in my original post that it hasn't showed up yet.
We didn't know the (free) Prime cruise shows up in April, the earliest.
Thanks again.

There are 2 ways to earn a "free" cruise....
Great, thank you SO MUCH for the detailed explanation.

Hi, my wife made prime status on our cruise a few weeks ago.
From what we understand, she should be getting a free cruise (for making prime).
Questions...
When would that typically show up in her offers? It has not yet.
Also... is it for any 7-night? Longer? Shorter? Just Caribbean?
Thanks so much!

This morning, it showed "sold out" on our upcoming Anthem cruise.
We were able to make a reservation by calling Royal - 1-800 398-9819.

Does anyone know how much Wonderland is, if booking ON-BOARD Anthem (or other ships)? Not including dining packages, just Wonderland by itself.
We were hoping to book during this sale, but a) price is still $52.99, and b) no availability!
Thank you!

Their website shows they are open. Call to verify (954) 463-2958
Thanks, I will.
And very odd...
Here are the Thrifty locations in Florida on their website...
https://www.thrifty.com/loc/site-map/us/fl/
The Ft Lauderdale location is 600 Terminal Drive, which appears to be the one at FLL.

Hi - has anyone used the Dollar / Thrifty location near Port Everglades in the past few months. Wondering if they are now closed.
I was looking to book a rental - dropping off at the Dollar/Thrifty (2400 Miami Road) location in Port Everglades, just outside of the port.
The location came up when going thru the booking process, but got an error when trying to complete the reservation.
I checked both the Thrifty and Dollar websites, and that one doesn't show up anymore.
That location is VERY convenient... especially for dropping off - then taking the (free) shuttle to the port.
Thanks!

On Oasis this Sunday... just got Royal'd Up to a JS.
Originally booked a 4D. Placed Royal Up bids on JS, Grand, and Owners.
Then we "downgraded" to Oceanview Balcony Guarantee (hey, it was cheaper). Royal Up bids stayed the same. Ironically then assigned a different 4D.
Meanwhile, a few weeks ago... JS turned to pending (with no option to modify/cancel) and Grand/Owners became expired. Had the slight feeling we might get it because others in my sailing were getting 2nd and 3rd Royal Up e-mails and we did not.
Had been practically stalking the Royal website hoping the JS price would drop so we could upgrade ourselves (and get the double-points), but it never did. With the Royal Up, we did end up paying less than half of the JS price on the site.

Adding here because it hasn't been mentioned...
Category "XB" is an Ocean View Balcony Guarantee (not Boardwalk or Central Park)

Just an FYI. Pricing for the Beach Club was all over the board before our recent Mariner cruise. We were at Coco Cay yesterday (9/19/21) and some walkups thought about buying it on the spot. They were quoted a price of $99 per person, and promptly left as it would have been nearly $400 for their party of four.
That's really interesting, thanks.
We recently booked it for our upcoming Oasis cruise in October. It was $178.99/per person... during the Labor Day sale (yikes!) Wife really wants to try it once, I begrudgingly went along with it. Now thinking about cancelling, if we can get it cheaper on the ship or even *at* Coco Cay.

We originally had it for this past week on Anthem, before it was obviously cancelled... ah well.
Have it in the Fall on Oasis, one could hope!

Just looked through my folder from our cruise. Top Tier was on day 2 at 11am in the theater. I was thinking of the suite cocktail party, which was on day 6. I don't have the invite for the M&M because they take it. We were on the 7 day Bahamas/Florida.
Great, thank you again!

Yes, that is the M&M. Top Tier has been on different days and venues. We like it in 270, but our cruise last month had it in the theater on day 6 at 10:30am. Other sailings on Anthem have been 4pm in 270 with music and dancing.
Thanks for the info. Trying to find out the specific time on the 7-day Bahamas/Florida.
On some past cruises I've been on, both the M&M and Top Tier were both scheduled on Day 2 within 30-60 minutes of each other. And other times, they weren't. So much for rhyme or reason... lol.
Thanks again.

MGM: MLife/MGM Rewards Downgrade for Royal Caribbean
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Thru MLife (now MGM Rewards), I was Platinum because of my C&A D+ status.
However - when I logged on earlier today, I was downgraded to Sapphire. I think many were, as of yesterday.
So I e-mailed them (memberservices at mgmresorts dot com) with my name, MGM Rewards #, and C&A #, along with a screen-shot from the Royal website that had a) my C&A # and b) indicated my D+ status. And of course, also asking to please update my status to Gold.
A few hours later, they responded - and I'm Gold.
I remember this was the case a few years ago also (having to reach out to them)... I don't think (?) they do it automatically.
