Confirmed: RCI developing new ship class
subaru94 replied to woodscruise's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Thats really pleasing to hear as really like the Radiance class of ship size, the new ships are getting too big and just are not what I believe is a true cruise ship. -

Hmm that's interesting seeing they are under the Carnival umbrella. Will have to wait and see then. -

Cunard should also be on that list too as we received OBC through the carnival shareholder? -

We have the NAB Visa Platinum debit card which comes with travel insurance, it costs $10 month, which we think cheap considering it covers travel insurance with an excess of $75 for domestic travel and $400 excess for international travel, they have also increased the age from76 to 81, so happy, which takes affect from November this year.

Validation of travel insurance
subaru94 replied to Moriac Mick's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
NAB also give Credit Card travel insurance proof, we had it done on a cruise we did this year that went to Fiji. -
They are a great idea, we are looking at flying to Tokyo and cruising back to Australia. They are usually good value for money too. Go for it.

$800 for one weeks insurance to South Pacific Islands
subaru94 replied to bazzaw's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I knew i didn't cover pre existing medical conditions, as we don't have any at this stage. Surprised about Norfolk Island as when I rang them they sent me a letter for New Caledonia. NAB do cover cancellations. -

We have the NAB platinum visa debit card and are doing as much travel as we can afford, before husband turns 76. Works for us and saves a lot of money in regards to travel insurance. -

Princess Shareholder question for Aussies
subaru94 replied to Cbtours's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
We emailed for a few cruises and got a response within a week, all OBC applied for Princess, Cunard and P&O Australia, no problems. -
Hi Hank, We will be going on a cruise from Sydney to Japan finishing in Yokohama, notice you have travelled to Japan before, we have booked the Quintessa Hotel Comic which is 14.8 kms from central Tokyo, do you have any recommendations on accommodation as you have been there before, we are looking at staying 3 nights before flying back to Australia. (we have done a lot of travelling and I have booked independent tours and accommodation, however, Japan I am having a bit of a challenge navigating it all).

Have you booked any accommodation in Tokyo as yet, we are arriving on a cruise ship next April and the accommodation and areas is quite overwhelming in respect of where to stay and some hotels are very very expensive?

Ask Carnival Corp’s CEO: Call for Questions for Josh Weinstein
subaru94 replied to CCAubs's topic in Princess Cruises
Is Princess considering building some smaller ships like the size of Coral Princess, Sapphire Princess, they are an ideal size and still have the wonderful traditional cruising feel, these newer ships, are becoming building blocks rather than cruise ships. Tea/Coffee making facilities in cabin would be great for Australia, other cruise lines supply Elite: I'm not sure why you took away the free minutes for wifi, I found it really great for overseas. Found the minutes we got enough for us. The new set up is very expensive. Have Princess thought about doing virtual inside cabins, we were on one with a competitor cruise line and it was great? -
We just recently came of the Queen Elizabeth ship, and have cruised with P&O, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Princess. We had an obstructed oceanview cabin on deck 4, great location. We have also just completed 2 P&O cruises, the P&O cruises entertainment onboard was great, food average, Queen Elizabeth, food was lovely, cabin steward fantastic. Entertainment was great. I would say the Queen Elizabeth is more layback, however, they have guest speakers on board, the afternoon tea and also if you feel athletic, chair aerobics, line dancing, zumba gold, all inclusive. The dress code is more strict on formal nights whereby if you want to go into a restaurant, you will need a tie and jacket, other evenings, slacks and polo shirt is fine. They also now have anytime dining which we enjoyed too. If you have any other questions happy to answer to the best of my ability.

We had a mini suite, this cruise we will have an oceanview.

We were on Pacific explorer for 3 nights in December and really enjoyed the ship, our cabin was lovely, we are going back on her end of March for 4 nights.
