I'm in an alcove right now on Silhouette. We were given 2 bottles of water, a fruit plate, and a cheese plate with saltine crackers. We were not offered any other food, and used our beverage package for drinks. I had to ask for the iPad, but they acted like it didn't exist until I pushed the issue...they did deliver one then, but it was only half charged. It had lots of music, but only one movie.

I love both the Regal Princess and Silhouette. There is more entertainment on Regal. Both have great buffets and wine bars. It's really nice to spend a day in the Regal Sanctuary (upcharge, but the most amazing service), but they don't have a nice free solarium like Silhouette. Princess lacks having enough shaded areas for lounge chairs by the pool. Both have good service. The Silhouette is more modern and elegant, and the passengers seem to be more interactive on Celebrity than on Princess...at least that has been my experience. Whatever you decide, have a great time, and see if you can get an upgrade to a deluxe balcony if you go on Regal. By the way, the obstructed balconies on either ship are fine to me, but that's subjective.

Where would we go on Millenium? Do we need to go to the lounge for the free drinks, or will they be loaded on the card?

I believe it. I live in Fort Lauderdale, which is 100 miles from where the eye of hurricane Irma passed, and you would not believe the state of my city! It hasn't been in the news.

You have got to be kidding!

Book a daytime excursion. The nightclub excursions are not compliant, but you can do a day and night excursion. As long as you complete a compliant excursion, you can explore the city as you wish.

I plan to book this resort for two nights post cruise for this November. We will actually be coming from the airport as we plan to do a post cruise tour with airport drop off. Does anyone know what the price of the ride to and from the airport would be via taxi vs Uber/Lyft? Also, any other restaurant recommendations nearby are welcome.
Uber will be about $15 and taxi about $25. The restaurants in these beach hotels about 1-2 miles away are fun: 954 Steak at W, S3 at Hilton, and Burlock Coast at Ritz Carlton. If you like live Blues, check out Qbar for food and drinks, about 3 miles away. Take Uber to any of these for about $5.

About $25 by taxi for either trip

Does Uber/Lyft tend to be less expensive?
Yes

Actually, i just found this which mentions shopping but is it good shopping? like a mall or something, does anyone know?
The excursion doesn't take you anywhere known for shopping, just to Hollywood Broadwalk.

I am wondering if I would be able to walk at night from Galleryone Doubletree to more centrally located restaurants/bars such as LuLu's bait shack, Coconuts, Bubba Gump. Is it safe? Are there places near GalleryOne that are similar to these restaurants? Are there any places nearby with live entertainment? Thanks!

The restaurants/bars at Galleria are much nicer than Lulus or Bubba Gumps. Blue Martini and the Trulucks lounge have entertainment, good drinks, and food.

Does that mean free airport shuttle? I don't know of any. Many of the nice beachfront hotels offer shuttle arrangements for a fee.

Call Bahia Cabana and Waxy O Conners and see if they have live music the night you'll be there.
-
I don't think there are any hotels near the beach that have free transportation from the airport.

Hilton Marina and Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach are very nice.

Residence Inn Il Lugano is the nicest of the 3 and is waterfront. There are several dining choices within walking distance.
Riverside is nice and is in the best location for dining and strolling downtown. It is the closest of the 3 to the port.
Hyatt Place Airport/Cruiseport is in Dania, across the street from a discount shopping center (Oakwood Plaza) with chain restaurants. It is not the same Hyatt Place that people are commenting about, which is in Fort Lauderdale near the port.

Look at the corner oceanview balcony rooms at the W. The ones on the upper floors have even larger balconies. If it rains you'll have a gorgeous view from the inside too, as there are big windows on 2 sides!

Diplomat and Margaritaville in Hollywood are great choices. In Fort Lauderdale, my favorites are Marriott Harbor Beach, Ritz Carlton, and W (the last 2 are across the street from the beach). If you don't mind going a little further north, Boca Beach Club is a great property.
We love using Uber to get around. We use it in Fort Lauderdale if we are going out drinking or if we are going to places that it isn't easy to park.

Gallery One is in a much better neighborhood....you can walk to the beach, mall, and restaurants. Homewood Suites is off of I-95, nothing interesting around there, so you have to drive and park everywhere. You can pick up breakfast bars and wine at the Publix across the street.

My question is How to find a new favorite mascara.........I am on the search for one.
My favorite mascara is Lancome Hypnose Drama. Lancome also makes a mascara primer if you want even more WOW.

RCCL recommends Care Vacations and Special Needs at Sea.

The Days Inn is in one of the roughest neighborhoods of Ft Lauderdale. I wouldn't stay there unless I was homeless and desperate.

Boatyard is really nice and has great food.
15th St Fisheries...the last few times I sat dockside the service was awful and the food was mediocre. I haven't eaten upstairs in many years, but was never fond of it.
Coconuts has great food and friendly service.

All we were offered yesterday was a fruit plate, a cheese plate, bottled water , and bar service a la carte. Spotty service.
