  1. When you call the Captain's Club, be prepared with everyone's full name, DOB, and current booking ID. Each person should get a Captain's Club number, and it should be linked with each reservation in advance of your trip. Also, if everyone has been on either Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, you can call Crown and Anchor to get everyone numbers there too. I'm not sure if they will give you all of the numbers or if each person has to call, but it's definitely worth a try! If you booked thru a TA, they can definitely get this information.

  2. How often do we see here issues that have arisen after a cruise has finished which could have been resolved on board before cruise completion. This is another of those instances. We always close off our account the day before cruise completion, having bought all we need and having a drinks package don't need to worry about morning coffees. By doing this one is not going to an email days later saying you owe $X for Y problem. Any refundable OBC we take as cash again to avoid any issues later that may or may not occur. When I leave a cruise the only two things I want from Celebrity are the post cruise questionnaire and acknowledgement of the increased accrued points

What do you mean by "we close off our account"?

We have also experienced mini bar charges that weren't on the final bill. I called and had them removed. Just call the main number and they'll help you get to the right department.

  3. On the Millennium in July, we had the classic package. If we ordered a drink above the limit, they just charged us the difference plus 18% gratuities of the difference. The staff said this was a fleet wide change that went into effect when they increased the price of the premium package.

  4. Maxydu, I'm really glad that you created this post. I've learned on cruise critic the importance of calling the insurance co before making decisions, and choosing options that provide receipts. I also learned here the benefits of purchasing insurance thru a broker who will advocate. If people like you didn't post, we wouldn't be armed with knowledge.

  5. I was on millennium last week and have Verizon. There was rarely any service on the ship. The ports had mostly good service, Icy Straight Point was spotty at best. My husband couldn't get any data service on his 3G phone in Vancouver. While cruising, Verizon sent me a warning about cruise ship calls being $2.99/minute, and data service being unavailable.

  6. On Milli now. Newest policy too coincide with the price increase for premium package...if you have classic package you just pay the difference if your drink costs more than the limit. I have the classic drinks perk, and so far I've paid $1 for Villa Maria Sauvignon blanc and $3 for any martinis. Plus 18% gratuity.

  7. We did Luminae on our last cruise and it was really good. Due to our limited diets we ordered something from the MDR menu most nights, but it seemed to be plated much nicer than I recall the MDR plates their food...maybe just my imagination. The service wasn't always perfect, but it was usually very good. We didn't see any need to go to specialty dining on this cruise, as we've tried all of the restaurants before and were very satisfied with the Luminae product.

  8. I've stayed twice at Albergo Cesari and would stay again. It's between the Trevi fountain and Piazza Navonna. The location is so convenient and rooftop breakfast is included. We so enjoyed the rooftop lounge at the end of the day...you order drinks and they bring you free snacks. The rooms are very basic, but comfortable. I believe it's in your price range too!

  9. I attended a Thermage seminar in the medispa on another line. I knew it was a sales seminar but nothing could have prepared me for what that really meant! I asked a question and was told that questions would be answered during my free individual consultation. At the end, the physician was in the doorway with a clipboard and she asked people to line up to schedule our appts before we left the room!

  10. My friend had a handicap sky suite on Silhouette under the buffet and said it was so noisy he couldn't sleep. He thought he was under a galley, but the galley is in the middle of the ship...maybe the sound of the galley carried across the ceiling.

  11. My friend's travel agent filled out the form for her and checked the last box that said something like I DO NOT PLAN TO DISEMBARK TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY OF THE ABOVE. She plans to disembark to walk around each stop in Cuba, so I think she and her agent are misinterpreting the affidavit. I think that she should check the SUPPORT OF THE CUBAN PEOPLE OPTION, and make a purchase on shore. What do you think?

  12. I emailed him and got the above canned response. Emailed back a few times to confirm with no response. I sent a Facebook message and got a confirmation response with the name of our guide.

  13. This was our 14th cruise overall and 4th on Celebrity. These are going to be our(wife and I) thoughts and opinions on process from embarkation to disembarkation. Embarkation ,as usual in Fort Lauderdale, not very organized. Were not able to park close to area to drop off checked bags. After dragging two large bags a considerable distance, security and check in went smoothly. ...

You should drop off bags with the porters before parking....it's so much easier!

I'm not sure why your embarkation in Fort Lauderdale is usually disorganized. I've done over 40 embarkations in Fort Lauderdale and only found them to be disorganized a couple of times. Disembarkation can be a bit chaotic though.

  14. I haven't been on NCL, but here's what I do on other lines...When I cruise I stick to the points for food, but I give myself a break on the drinks ( I still track them though). I drink wine and lower calorie cocktails like vodka and Sprite Zero or rum and diet Coke, nothing with added sugar or fruit juice. I don't eat ice cream or baked desserts, but might have fresh berries for dessert. Breakfast is boiled eggs, fat free yogurt, and fresh fruit, maybe iced coffee with sweetener. Lunch is salad bar and beans, with dressing on the side, maybe a non-creamy soup. Snack is fruit or veggies. Dinner is lean protein and veggies, no rice or potato. I might have beef once or twice. I'm not good at getting motivated to exercise, but I walk around the track a few times a day and dance a few times. Good luck!

  15. I read on CC that we cannot take CUC out of the country. I also read that the money exchange closes at 8 PM. We plan to stay out late, and our ship is leaving very early the next morning. I guess our last server or taxi driver is going to get an awesome tip unless anyone has any other ideas in this situation?

I'm not sure this is what they mean by "support of the Cuban people", LOL!
