Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. https://www.cruisemapper.com/?poi=484 Here you go.
  2. When we arrive Osanbashi Port before we realized the luggages are gone! Didn't even have a close encounter with the porters😂! They are so efficient and fast. Japanese takes their job as pride, so all we can say is Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu!
  3. Mobile suica cards are not refundable so load your money wisely. We start with 2000 yen( per my bank it was USD$13.36 the time we loaded) before we left the States. Since we have world wide phone plan, we just add extra whenever needed. For example- Haneda airport to Shinjuku station is 1400 yen each person, so we add another 2000 yen on my husband’s card. Within Tokyo, subway usually cost 178 yen, so you can estimate how many trips you are going to take. Of course, there are so many places accept CC payment so you can utilize that as well. When out of Tokyo, suica cards are still good for transportation, food and convenience stores, but if you visit some small restaurants or food vendors, cash is the only way. The remaining balance are good for five years, so if you still have funds left, when transfer in Japan, you can use it at the airport. We ended with a little bit over 400 yen each card. Of course you can use the final balance at stores and pay the short payment by cash or other means so that’s another way to drain the funds. You’ll know how easy it is to use mobile suica card in Japan when you arrive. Enjoy your time in Japan!
  4. BTW, mobile suica card only accept MasterCard, no Visa.
  5. We just came back from Japan this Tuesday. Spend 15 days in Japan - 3 land plus 12 days cruise through out Japan. My husband and I are so grateful that we took people’s advice loaded mobile suica card before we left the States. Used for transportation, purchasing , restaurants, vending machine…. from Tokyo to Aomori, couldn’t be more happy with it. Since we have worldwide phone plans, we just add money anytime the balance is low. Just make sure when you use for subways make sure when you go out of the station you have your payment completed. There are couple times we need to make several transfer but the transaction wasn’t completed, that time just to to customer service by the entrance. They will help to solve your problem, otherwise you won’t be able to use your suica card if you leave the subway since you’re still in transit 😊
  6. Last RCCL cruise the cabin attendant told me some people messed up with tissue paper into the toilet so they don’t keep them in the bathroom any longer🤔
  7. Just get off Spendida. washcloths - not provided in room box of tissues - did ask for one but was told they don’t carry them anymore. bar of soap - didn’t ask so no idea. happy cruising!
  8. I tip the room steward the first time he come to greet us, also if he’s good, I’ll tip more at the end of the cruise.
  9. Dear Eli_6, believe me, I know what you are talking about! We got off Pride on the 22nd which is the day you guys boarded that ship. The whole trip was a disaster and if not for you bring this up, I don’t even want to think back. We miss some paid shore excursions due to late arrival and long tender waiting. My husband and I skip breakfast just in order to be on the queue for tender tickets and people line up since 5:30 in the morning. We were the 4th people on the line and we got Zone 8 which we can finally on the tender boat almost two hours after the first zone was called. About that big rude guy you’re talking about, I certainly can point out who he is. We choose this ship for it’s itinerary but never realized it can ended this way. This is the most stressful vacation we have ever had. It’s a lesson learned but I am glad we catch the flight back to the States from Heathrow the same day we got off ship without delay!
