  1. Got it-she'll definitely need assistance (from her husband) for that. They recently stayed at our home for four days. She had to do steps up and down from the sidewalk to our house and ambulate with a cane. She also had a step up into our shower. Good to know what to expect for the cabin. Thanks all for weighing in!
  2. Thanks for this wonderful story! She does have MS and uses the neat little tricycle type scooter to go distances(example-it goes in the trunk of the car and she can zip up and down the streets and shop) She will be able to ambulate around the cabin without it. She does exactly as your mom did. She will get her hair done at the spa and mostly do sponge baths. The handheld shower spray with a stool will work fine for her as well. Also we will have a larger verandah where we can all gather. Friends may take the suite next door to them. Does anyone have any experience with being able to have them remove the partition between the verandahs's?
  3. My TA put me on speaker with the Celebrity Rep-he clearly understands that our friend has a disability and uses a scooter but he stated there were absolutely no accessible suites to be had on our sailing. He offered the stool for the shower and the raised toilet seat and said to ask the Retreat Concierge for anything else we might need.
  4. We did speak with one of the celebrity agents on the phone and the sweet category accessible cabins are all booked. They will give her a stool for the shower. They can also make available a raise toilet seat if necessary. She will be ok with the step for the bath. Also, the cabin location is right by the forward elevators leading to many of the retreat, spaces and Luminae restaurant. And the spa.
  5. Thanks I had not thought about the holding back business!
  6. We are booked on the January 6 Apex western Caribbean. We are taking a sky suite in the retreat. Friends would like to join us, but the assessable suites are all taken. Our friend uses a small tricycle style scooter, which can fold up. I felt like they should book the celebrity suite a class up from the sky suite is that would give her a little more room to move around in the cabin. There is another category of sky sweet that I think is at the back of the ship but I’m not sure how much bigger is. Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of having any of these cabins with mobility issues?
  7. We have a cruise departing on the 19th on celebrity reflection. When I look at the app under dining options, it only shows OPUS-the main dining room. We are in a suite/the retreat, and we are supposed to be assigned to Luminae. Just wondering what’s up with that?
  8. When I did the check-in on the app it showed two boarding passes both in my name! I called Celebrity and they told me to deal with it at the pier. A few weeks later I looked at the boarding passes again and this time they were correct. I save them to the "wallet" app on my iPhone in case something changes again.
  9. my pre-cruise documents for our cruise departing on March 19th clearly state two bottles per cabin worded thus: "Guest are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard with the exception of embarkation day when guests are permitted to bring onboard with them up to two(2)bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee)per stateroom." I think the wording is a bit odd but ultimately it appears there is a 2 bottle limit per cabin
  10. Shark-if you happen to know, my friend, fiona, the lively British lady on board to celebrate her 60th, please tell her hello from Julie and happy birthday!
  11. Cruising on Reflection in March. Will there be any opportunity to watch live coverage of the earlier round of the tournament?
  12. Aren’t the peloton bikes for classes? Are the classes complementary on the S class ships?
  13. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Orient+Beach+Hotel/@18.0901263,-63.0251526,16z/data=!4m11!3m10!1s0x8c0e6f6e1d6289ed:0xefe043724321524a!5m4!1s2023-03-13!2i4!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d18.0885455!4d-63.022052!16s%2Fg%2F11hf7dpcdh you can zoom in- I believe Club Orient is/was at the north end. Lots of beach bar choices for su needs, drinks and lunch. Read google or trip advisor reviews to make a choice. From my research it seems that Coco Beach charged the most for sunbeams/umbrellas even if you dine there.
  14. We did the Egypt cruise early December and I DO NOT recommend the "Chef's table." try it at your own risk...
  15. Eileen-thanks for your post. We leave in 10 days for Jordan and Egypt. We'll be with an AMA Waterways group-Jordan is an optional pre-cruise add on then we go to Cairo for 3 days followed by a flight to Luxor, one week on the Nile then back to Cairo for the final day. I'm wondering-for the times we happen to be on our own-what is the tipping policy over there and are American dollars welcomed/accepted? Thanks for ant input. Julie in Denver ,CO. USA
  16. And what about the high level suite only unlimited access to the outdoor spa deck?
  17. We are not too worried. We met our friends on the Celebrity Galapagos cruise years ago. We have since visited them in Belgium, recently 5 days together at their apartment in Alicante and they are coming to visit us in Denver in a month. They love Celebrity and talked us into this cruise. They've never cruised the Caribbean.
  18. We have some generous ***** for credit so that might be a good use of that perk. We have three sea Days…
  19. LOL. It looks like it will be a decent-size-we're in 2110. Wondering if our friends who are in adjacent cabin 2108 will have the removable panel between our two balconies which would create a bigger space for happy hour?
  20. Will be Sailing Reflection for the first time in March-Eastern Caribbean. in an S-1 suite I believe. I've been on Solstice and Equinox. Would love to know of any 'secret" spaces on the ship where one can lay out on sea days and feel more relaxed than at a crowded pool area. Thanks!
  21. Hopefully final question here: do Retreat(suite class) passengers have unlimited access to the Persian Garden or is that only for Aqua Class? If not, can one purchase a pass? Thanks again for your help!
