  1. I had my day 5 Covid test yesterday and result is POSITIVE. I will be released from quarantine on May 22 at 8am and get my Certificate of Recovery at that time. I'm not sure how much "freedom" I will have but with DH needing a negative test result to fly home on May 26 we may opt to stay in our "bubble".
  2. In quarantine we can guess how many might be with us on the quarantine floor by seeing how many RS trays are outside a door. I've attached pictures from my current experience on APEX. Are there are other quarantine areas? I can't say but what I can say is that it's easy for someone to question, 2nd guess and insert their opinion about what's actually happening from the comfort of their home rather than accepting what we....those in quarantine...are sharing about OUR experience.
  3. I am in quarantine on APEX. I tested + on next to last day of the TA and was offered, verbally, an option of staying on for the next cruise 12nt British Isles, or quarantining in an Amsterdam hotel. We opted to stay onboard. We were told, again, verbally that we needed to contact Flights by Celebrity to change our flights....which we did. So far no written communication about anything....which I suggested, to the Public Health Officer, would make it easier on everyone and cut down on those in quarantine having to call Guest Services. I know this is new territory for Celebrity but....more communication to those of us in quarantine would be helpful...and appreciated.
  4. Again....your words, your opinion. This thread is to share MY experience in quarantine...nothing more.
  5. No separate line at Guest Services based on Loyalty status.
  6. I wasn't sending anyone away (your words). What I was doing was sharing a link to banavan's thread so the poster could follow her experience there.....which I hope he and others do as her experience is very different from mine and should be followed on the thread she created. If you go back and read her 1st post on this thread you'll see that it was not to contrast her experience with mine.
  7. Please read my posts. I'm the OP and started this thread. My experience has not been like that of bananavan. The Medical team on APEX have all been good. If you want to follow bananavan experience here's her thread.
  8. Why can't you get a Certificate of Recovery to fly home?
  9. Netherlands requires 10 day quarantine before you can get a COR.
  10. No flaw in your logic. Glad you're feeling OK but sorry to hear you've tested positive. There are T least 50 of us in quarantine onboard the ship who tested positive on the TA and others who tested positive and chose to quarantine... or not as I've read some sadly have not....in Amsterdam. We're told that after 10 days we can get a Certificate of Recovery to fly home. Do you have a documented positive result as you need that to then get the Certificate of Recovery. Hope you stay well and please let us know how your quarantine experience is going. My experience is in the linked thread posted by emma's gran above.
  11. Hope you're feeling better. I agree about dining height table. One person can eat at the desk but the other has a low, small table. Yesterday I put the cushion from one chair on the other chair and used it for my "table" with a smaller Room Service tray. Food last night came quicker and was hotter and tasty. We're adapting and figuring things out and we go along. My DH is still testing negative and I have my day 5 test today.
  12. From what I'm told the 10 days is a Netherlands requirement. I can't speak to what Italy's requirements are.
  13. If your sister tested positive on the last day she is most likely still positive. Has she....or any of her friends... tested again to know if they're negative and can be out and about? I have my 5 day test today and hope to test negative. We have a FB group for those of us in quarantine and 3 who tested on day 5 were still positive.
  14. My 1st time. DH had a bad case on Aug '21 and spent 7 days in the hospital. I didn't get it then and...hopefully...he won't get this one.
  15. Thanks...the desk doesn't come out like those on Quantum class ships....wish it did. I'm sure we'll still want to cruise again but not until testing to return to the US is not in effect.
  16. Today is Day 3 of my quarantine on APex. While the 1st day was a Learning day for all of us...both crew and quarantined passengers...being in quarantine for me, is going OK. Would I rather be off in the ports exploring...of course...but I can't and am trying to make the best of each day. While I enjoyed my Sky Suite on the TA, the Infinite Veranda set up with the floor to ceiling window that's opens is ideal....and IMHO....better tha a regular balcony. Medical has called each day to check up on me, my husband has been tested 3x and continues to test negative and I'll be tested tomorrow...day 5. Fingers crossed that I might test Negative. If so, then it's another test on day 6. We've learned that we need to order at least an hour ahead of when we want to eat. Last night's dinner was good...tasty and almost piping hot. The Decoy Cabernet added to our dining experience. There's one desk and a low table...which doesn't lend itself to dining so I improvised and put the cushion from one of the chairs on the other and used that for my table. Not perfect but better than bending down. My DH walks every day at home and quarantine is no different. He's walking every hour and logged 6 miles yesterday and more than that today according to his Fitbit. He goes f5om the window to the door and back again. Hope the carpet holds up...Lol. I'm dancing to the music on the TV in 15 min increments. Not as many miles as he has done but we have to try to be active. Oh....and we're still talking to one another! Only 9 days to go...
  17. We had to turn in our Passports yesterday in Dover for British Immigration and have not yet received them back. I'm curious if they will be held 🤔 and what the process will be for us when we return to Amsterdam.
  18. Do you have a link to this this? And is it for sailings after May 1?
  19. Well said....and thanks for posting. While we're now "in quarantine".....my husband chose to stay with me...we knew the possibility this could happen and did do back up research. With the ever evolving and changing protocols this can be a challenge as what was in place when we left home on Apr 29 may not be the protocols today. I'm posting my experience....on a separate thread....to share my current situation. Day 4 of quarantine and Day 3 of the cruise after I tested positive. While my post is on this thread I don't feel "stranded in Europe". We are making the best of the situation and seeing the British Isles from our Infinite Veranda.
  20. Thanks...I am feeling better. Ididn't ask why there wasn't any coverage for food and, yes, they will cover $250 (I think) in airline change fees but not for any fare increase.
  21. Hope you're feeling better. I agree about dining height table. One person can eat at the desk but the other has a low, small table. Yesterday I put the cushion from one chair on the other chair and used it for my "table". It's taller but still awkward as my knees can't go under the chair but turning it at an angle helped. Food last night came quicker and was hotter and tasty. We're adapting and figuring things out and we go along. My DH is still testing negative and I have my day 5 test tomorrow.
  22. My husband had a bad case of Covid last year and spent 7 days in the hospital with Pneumonia. I didn't get it from him and we're hoping he doesn't get it from me. He's been tested 4 times... most recently last night... and results continue to be NEGATIVE.
  23. I'm sorry to hear about your experience and not happy to hear there was no contact tracing testing. We are not traveling with anyone but did Celebrity bus excursions where they took name/room #....for what I assumed could be contact tracing information. Do you know if they took passports for everyone who tested positive?
  24. THANKS...The off was for up to $250/night for a hotel with no coverage for food, testing or a Certificate of Recovery that's needed to fly back to the US.
