  1. One thing to know, the line's name is Silversea, one word, singular. 😃 P.S. I'm not a Silversea person, did one, it was not good at all, have a second one booked on the new ship, Nova. Hoping that the new Crystal is as good as the old, have 2 cruises booked with them.
  2. Was involved in a discussion in a laundry room on Crystal, this laundry room had 4 or 5 washers/dryers. The consensus was, at busy times, things can remain in a washer or a dryer for 15 minutes after the cycle finished and then the clothes, wet or dry, go into the plastic laundry basket Crystal provided. I think I remember Crystal had a policy that there was a 30 minutes time limit on pool furniture.
  3. And I'd say you have already paid for it, but if you want to think of it as free, be my guest!
  4. Yep, we aren't the "demographic"! When people ask what's an influencer, I say, I think the first influencers were the Kardasians and then they get it!! 🤣 Patty
  5. Thinking about decor/ambiance on the old Crystal, I thought Prego lacked a lot in those areas on Serenity, but was very nice on Symphony. The service and food was excellent on both. Never forget that we are "renting" on the ships, not "buying". Patty
  6. Gee, no one ever on Cruise Critic has ever been pedantic! There are no amount of emojis that will help some people "get" it.
  7. My point was there is no such thing as free booze. As I wrote, there's no free lunch.
  8. I'm a Crystal cruiser, 44 with the old Crystal, 2 booked with the new Crystal and hoping for the best. I'm a solo cruiser and in the old days Crystal was always much more cost effective. Never did any other luxury lines because they were so much more expensive for what you got. My Silversea was during the time Crystal was in limbo. Have one more with Silversea, but if the new Crystal is as good as I'm hoping, I see no reason to do the others.
  9. I know you know there is a difference between "free" booze and "included" booze. As with everything else, there's no free lunch!! 🤪
  10. Sometimes the various luxury cruise lines will offer selected cruises in their lower level cabins with no single supplement. Those are usually on cruises that are "less desirable" as to location, etc. I'd look at each line's website and see if they have a link for "Specials".

I'm on the second cruise and had inquired through my travel agent and her response was mailing a welcome letter and luggage tags and everything else electronic. If the luggage tags fail to reach you, no problem, as more will be available at the port. Patty
  12. I remember having more mature classmates in kindergarten then some people on the Crystal Cruise Critic board. My thought on what some post here is, consider the source. Life is way too short to do any more than just move on. Patty
  13. That’s not a +1, it’s a +100 😎😊😎 Patty
  14. But.....what about the carpaccio??? Patty
  15. Not trying to be too pedantic, the Single cabins are totally forward on the Symphony but on the Serenity there are cabins totally forward on deck 7 that Crystal isn't booking to the public and the Single cabins being booked are after those. No one knows for sure, but the "guess" is the ones not being booked to the public will be used by entertainers, lecturers and other enrichment people.
  16. Are you on Symphony? All of the deck 9 Aquamarine Veranda Suites on Symphony are the Seabreeze Veranda Suites from 2017 and they have large showers, no tubs. Patty
  17. Unfortunately you are not the first person who didn't get the correct information from the phone representatives. It has been both their misunderstanding your question and their not being informed.
  18. Will there be guests on the shake down cruise? Thinking travel agents, friends of Manfredi, and others? It's one thing to see if all the mechanical things work, but assume they need to test the hotel side too. Patty
  19. I'm on 2 Serenity cruises, #2, Lisbon to London this August and the Panama Canal that starts the World Cruise in January. Hoping to get back to Symphony as she's really "home" to me, 75% of my Crystal days. Patty
  20. The prices (daily rate per cabin category) went up when NC first announced fares. If they want to stay in business it was mandatory. They (as all the competition) are using dynamic pricing, not to the extent of the airlines, but don't hold your breath on that not happening!! Patty
  21. It's always important to consider the currency conversion rate. The credit card I use overseas has a very favorable rate that changes constantly, seen if more than one charge is made on the same day, even though it's negligible, out to the 4th or 5th decimal. Also, you must use a card that doesn't have a fee for using it in a foreign currency. I'd think (but sometimes have been surprised!) that anyone who can afford to sail Silversea is this sophisticated when it comes to finances.
  22. It's like that with mountains all over the world. Even when within viewing range, you can see Denali in Alaska only about 30% of the time as the mountain makes its own weather. My first time in interior Alaska my group saw the mountain 3 days in a row, a miracle. Traveling, you have to know that you pay your money and take your chances when it comes to weather.
  23. I'd say it's both, it's the same day, as it's one for you and the other for someone else. Crew is way too busy that day. Patty
  24. AA to DFW only and DL to ATL only. Connections needed.
