  1. As to the band that used to play around the pool, often in Starlite on Symphony, etc., the number of members had been reduced by old Crystal; was it cost, crew quarters availability, or what, I don't know. Now they seem to be down to a duet. I'd suggest everyone check out the boards for the other luxury lines as the same thing has happened there and some are unhappy, others haven't noticed. All I know, and not just as it relates to Crystal, is you can't please all the people all the time. Patty
  2. Yes, but the vanilla extract sold in Mexico is not equal in quality to the good extract sold in the US. When the ship was there in January, the same brands of tequila at the Walmart were more expensive than the same tequila at Total Wine in the US 😉 Patty
  3. I don't think there's anyway you can get from South Padre Island to Galveston in 6 hours even if you weren't pulling a trailer. It's well over 400 miles. Parking a trailer with a scooter on it, also a crazy idea. Can't imagine anyone will think any of this is a good idea. Good luck.
  4. The last segment of the 2016 World Cruise on Serenity was Japan to San Francisco including Alaska. Dutch Harbor and Kodiak were included. Patty
  5. Earlier this year they opened it in the evening for a while, but went back to closing at 6PM. Wouldn't be surprised if there weren't enough people taking advantage of the late closing.
  6. Just another case of death by a thousand cuts by the Royal Caribbean corporate bean counters.Hope they are able to attract enough new passengers from Celebrity and Royal Caribbean who don't know better as many of the Silversea regulars move on to other true luxury lines.
  7. Every time I've used either Uber or Lyft I get a photo of the driver with a description on the car including the license plate.
  8. My answer is no. I've done the transfer from Anchorage to Seward 4 times over the years. For a lot of the way the road and the train tracks run parallel.
  9. And they also do not serve all airports in all cities as the earlier poster suggested.
  10. The itineraries have not been posted yet, just information from Crystal about the general area each ship will be sailing at various times.
  11. I think this varies by cruise. I asked just one crew member when I got the answer. It's like when you ask crew members the guest count, you never get the exact same number! Patty
  12. I was told that the magicians would be on cruises with at least 3 sea days. Patty
  13. All 3 cameras are good from Symphony. Only forward if good from Serenity, starboard is still fuzzy and there is no port view. Patty
  14. They weren't offered last month on earlier Alaska cruises. Thinking they are a thing of the past. I do have about 20 here at the house. 😉 Patty
  15. Since Serenity has 3 different Sapphire Suites - classic, 2018 and 2023 - which one(s) does this problem apply? Patty
  16. Yes, think White Night started on Azamara and when a cruise director was hired by Crystal from Azamara, it started there. Not everyone on Crystal participates.
  17. Starboard is working but it's "fuzzy". Way down the list of important matters!! Patty
  18. Crystal room service is 24/7! You will never go hungry!! Patty
  19. I'm sorry if you interpreted my response as somehow being challenging to you. That was not my intent at all. I suppose it's the fact that we are "two peoples separated by a common language"!! Patty
  20. Keith, Glad to help!! Since you are on Serenity now, could you ask the powers that be to fix the port and starboard cameras? 😁 Patty
  21. Is this for Symphony or Serenity?
  22. I've never been given a boarding time by Crystal that I remember. They do give group numbers based on when you arrive. I was in Group 1 at Vancouver a few weeks ago as I was staying at the Pan Pacific there at the cruise terminal and decided I'd just as soon sit waiting at the port than sit in my room. 😁 Patty
  23. Another vote for Crystal. I've only done Silversea for the lines you have mentioned but can tell you that service, food, entertainment and enrichment on Crystal is head and shoulders above Silversea.
  24. Based on his head feathers, I'm going to name him Einstein!! Patty
  25. Yes, square footage remains the same. The difference is storage and closet space. The closet hanging space is about 2 feet shorter and there is much less drawer space. It is still sufficient for the vast majority of solo travelers but many, many couples find it too limited.
