Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. 1) My son has asthma and has never had any trouble in any inside cabin on any ship. 2) Easy to use, you pay for tokens for washers/driers and detergent/drier sheets with your medallion via dispensing machines. Running times for the machine are posted on the walls. 3) Prices for insides are significantly cheaper than other grades which is why we generally book them, I’d rather have two cruises inside than one cruise with a balcony. 5) Bathroom lighting is the same as in all the other grades.
  2. Conversely we don’t like the sideways cabins due to the bedroom section being right next to front door, we prefer the (slight) separation.
  3. Before the cover charge was introduced, Alfredo’s/Gigi’s, for me, was just an alternative venue for lunch, and that’s probably about as far as I’d go with endorsing it. We had the option to dine there on our last cruise as part of the Plus Package but we didn’t bother, we’ve never been able to see what all the fuss was all about.
  4. I’ve taken four slices in one go, they never mentioned there was a maximum amount you could take. They normally have one pizza ready to go and one in the oven at any one time so you’d essentially be able to walk off with one full pizza at best. On a question of quality I’d say Slice is better than Alfredo’s, even more so now that you have to pay for the privilege of Alfredo’s/Gigi’s.
  5. When it works it’s fantastic, but when it doesn’t you’re just hanging around not sure when your order is going to turn up, sometimes it never does. We’ve just decided to go back to servers or going to the bar ourselves. In a nutshell, it’s a complete waste of time.
  6. With regards to point six I’d definitely organise something yourself, in the last 13 months we have had our honeymoon and anniversary and, other than “Happy Honeymoon/Anniversary” appearing when we tapped on the interactive screens, there was absolutely nothing from Princess.
  7. Nobody is defending Princess, more a case of saying it’s a bit of a gamble going on a ship’s first sailing as you may experience numerous problems or, in extreme cases, a cancellation. One close friend took his family on a ridiculously cheap Royal Caribbean inaugural cruise and had to deal with half of the ship being closed and flooding issues but, as he said when he returned, I guess that’s why it was cheap. I’d never sail on a ship that hadn’t been in service for at least 2-3 months.
  8. Probably because the one’s who are screaming the loudest are those self important, comped cruise vloggers who simply have to be the first on board. I couldn’t imagine a place as awful as an inaugural cruise nowadays, it’s like a floating Whicker Island.
  9. These were sodas so they don’t count towards the 15. You may be right though about the seemingly high daily limit.
  10. You have to get them removed by visiting guest services. We were on a drinks package and we don’t use anywhere near our 15 drinks a day allowance so if they didn’t show up we weren’t duly concerned, but if you’re paying as you go I reckon having to keep track of lost drinks and then reporting them missing in action to avoid a $15 plus tip charge I figure it would become very tiresome, very quickly.
  11. Just did a Princess excursion post cruise with an airport drop off at Fort Lauderdale. We were supposed to be dropped off between 12:30pm and 12:45pm but it ended up being 1:15pm as the coach driver had parked illegally (not for the first time, according to the traffic officer) and was getting ticketed, there was then argument between the tour guide and the traffic officer. At the airport we were told we had to stay on the bus until all the bags were unloaded (another ten minutes which pushed our arrival to almost an hour late. Once we were given the all clear to get off the coach the tour guide reminded us about how much work both herself and the driver had done today and that tips are appreciated, I wouldn’t have had the nerve to ask.
  12. Was on the Enchanted last week, we had numerous “delivered” drinks that never showed up and numerous drinks that showed up after what you’d consider to be an unacceptable delay so, in the end, we either went to the bar and ordered or just flagged down passing crew members. I was in Princess Live to watch a football game, ordered a drink via Ocean Now at kick off, at half time it still hadn’t arrived, so I went to the bar and picked one up, ten minutes into the second half my order showed up and she looked bemused that I already had a drink, it really is a complete waste of everyone’s time.
  13. We’re currently onboard the Enchanted and both Mrs Chippy and myself have both apps installed. I’ve ordered bathrobes to the room and Mrs Chippy has ordered four drinks for herself in various locations which were showing as delivered but never came, all via the new app. We’re just going to use the old from now on or, most likely, just go to the bar ourselves.
  14. Thought I’d share this with you, my Dad’s on the Ventura and saw the webcam showing both ships. Hoping you all have a smoother seas from here on in.
