HA, Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona late March 27- April 9 will be great weather . I am from the North. it will be Spring for me. Just hopeful sun and not a lot of rain. Love the iconic Bernie photo with his mittens. 🤣

Clay, I agree with you .I love the Aquavit Bar for a pre dinner cocktail. On my last cruise, we got to know the two bartenders very well. 🍸 Meet up with my new found friends and sit outside with some appetizers. Then off to the dinner at Restaurant or Manfredi, or Chef table. I try to sit outside where I can on the Aquavit terrace. the best place on a Viking ship IMO. Going on a TA in March so that is where I will be. Explorer lounge is fine for after dinner music or late night snack and drinks.

Armed convoy excursion in Algiers, I am sure that will be a unique experience. Look forward to your report.

doing my second transatlantic on Viking Ocean. Going March 27 to April 9 from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona. Currently this cruise is on sale till Dec 2, Free air, beverage package! it is a great deal. I am treating it as a 14 day spa vacation.

Loving this trip report . Tunisia cats sound like the ones in Greece and Turkey. They are well fed and seen as cats of each neighborhood. Look forward to your report Algeria and your excursions.

As many here have said, it helps to have a good TA. We got our got free air as part of a promotion. We got a direct flight to FL from MSP.. Our return flight originally was three flights from Barcelona . to MSP. TA went to bat for us and got us a two flight return from Barcelona. Direct flight from Barcelona on UA to Newark with nice long layover. Connecting flight to MSP. We are happy campers with these flights under free air promotion. Our TA is great.

Look forward to your trip report, I have been to Morocco and Malta . Malta has a fabulous harbor and interesting history. did a wonderful tour there and had a great guide. Been to Tangiers twice. Went on a tour with Viking to a spice and perfume place. Bought some saffron , Moroccan spices and lots of argan oil.

My TA is going to do a conference call next week to do our free air fare with a viking rep. We book the cruise yesterday doing the same thing for the two of us , both from same city St. Paul MN. I looked on Delta we site and there is a non stop flight for MSP to Fort Lauderdale arriving at 12:30 pm on embarkation day March 27. It is a large plane, six seast across , with lots of empty seats today. now need to look at flight for Barcelona on April 7 that flies direct to US then to MSP. I will be wiling to pay $150.00 to get these flights.

I am most concerned about my return flight from Barcelona to MSP in April ,2025. Would hope to get a direct flight to the USA! hopefully to Atlanta over JFK on Delta, and we are flying economy. I understand if you are flying to or from a smaller airport , like your example.I will ask my TA today when I book.

I am booking a Viking transatlantic with free air fare under a promo code with my travel agent. Can I still pay for air plus so I have some say over which flights I want . In particular , it would be the return flight. I do not under any circumstances want to fly through Paris or NY , JFK.

So glad you are doing a live trip report. Your pictures bring back memories of Spain. Look forward to more from the Jupiter, my last Viking cruise was on the Jupiter. That crew was outstanding and loved eating in the Restaurant which made the perfect cosmos for me each night.

I did book Viking air and included the upgrade to Viking air plus, thinking I could always cancel if I find lower price on my own to be able to control my flights times, departure cities , and layover times. curious about the new rules for Viking Air and actual ticketing flights sooner than 70 days out. Look forward to what to the new thread on this topic, CharTrav.

Before I sail a viking ship I read the curated reading list that Viking provides on their web site for each itinerary. I usually buy the book online or sometimes I can download them on my ebooks. I love knowing the history of the places I will see and any fiction that takes place in the places I will visit. Seeing I book so far in advance , it is easy reading for a year or two.

Magnificent pictures of such landscapes of wonders of our planet. Was the air pure and pristine ? In reading this thread, I can almost smell the clear air of the North from my laptop. Thank you so much for taking us along on this wonderful cruise.

Got my refund of $50.00 from Viking posted to my credit card this morning the canceled Viking Sea cruise.

Has the Viking Sea even been in dry dock ? It is one of the older ships. Very curious, but time will tell... I agree with Santa Fe1, it is about the ship Viking Sea.

We need Char here to do her magic with the spreadsheet and give us a state of play with Viking Sea and/or N. America ports of call for Ocean ships.

Can you get your airfare back? Did you book air on your own or through Viking air? We just had our deposit which we will get back or put toward another cruise. We do have a Cruise on Viking booked for April 2026 so we should e able to get the current promotion for past cruiser if we want or maybe do a last minute cruise when they have a sale to fill the ship...
