Princess calls it wifi, but it is actually internet. Everyone has wifi to connect to the on board intranet.

Medallion net is internet access. If purchased the full cost is $24.99/day for one device. Platinum and Elite loyalty levels can purchase for half price, $12.50/day. There are also 4 device plans. Medallion net is included with the inclusive fares, thus no discount.

What happens if my daughter is ill and can't come on our cruise?
skynight replied to ddvgww's topic in Princess Cruises
You inform Princess and then just board. Solo passengers pay double fare and single port charges. Solo passengers also pay only for one upgrade to the plus or premier fare. If you have one of the plus or premier fares you should be able to get that extra cost returned. -
How/when can you obtain a check in time on Princess?
skynight replied to HM129's topic in Princess Cruises
It's just a boiler plate response. The information I posted in post #6 reflects what you wanted. It is accurate according to my experience with almost 50 Princess cruises. Check in will probably open around 9:30 to 10:00. Boarding will begin around 10:30 to 11:00 with priority boarders then all others. Once boarding begins it goes quickly. The process is just a matter of walking through the gangplank and scanning your medallion. It's as quick as the slowest person/group walks. In my experience passing through security is the slowest link in the process. That is done as you enter the terminal, not as you board. -
Ask on your roll call. Here is the connection

The deck plans show that it is covered by two cabins above.

Priority Disembarkation - While this is mentioned as a benefit, it really has no meaning. Everyone can choose their disembarkation time to meet their flight or other needs. Early walk off disembarkation is available to everyone. If you don't like what you have you can just visit passenger services. 50% off internet applies if you are purchasing internet. If you have one of the inclusive fares it doesn't apply. 10% discount at the shops does not apply to reduced priced items. 10% off excursions. When pre-booked on line full price is charged. The 10% is returned as OBC once on board. I believe the OBC is refundable, but not certain.

Also International Cafe for a light lunch.

If you are in a "reserve class" mini suite as you kind of indicate then your main dining room will be the reserve class dining room. It is open for breakfast and dinner each day, lunch on sea days and lunch on boarding day. It is walk in anytime the DR is open with prompt seating and improved service. There is no charge. There is also no charge for food in the buffet, by the poolside grill and pizza and at the International Cafe. Casual meals are 3 course meals at separate locations from the MDRs. Selections vary by ship. Examples would be Alfredo's pizza which serves made to order personal pizzas and other selections, Salty Dog Gastropub serving special burgers and also other selections. These venues are mostly just walk in and mostly just open in the evening. There are some that are open for lunch. If you mention the ship you would receive additional information.

Princess Cruise Ft. Lauderdale Hotel?
skynight replied to MsSoCalCruiser's topic in Florida Departures
I always stay at the Embassy Suites on SE 17th street. It's just a few minutes from the pier. They have a shuttle service available. There are lots of restaurants around for dinner. Embassy suites includes the happy hour and a very nice breakfast. There is also a Publix and Total Wine basically next door where you can pick up pre-cruise supplies. This post may be moved to the hotel port section. -
Once used and within the penalty period the FCD becomes payment for the cruise fare. It is then subject to the same passage contract conditions as other payment funds. Here is the legal text which you can find at the bottom of the FCD letter. " Once applied to a booking the FCD is considered money and is subject to booking terms and conditions in the Passage contract"

You will pick up your medallion at the pier. It is a quick detour, not an issue.

How/when can you obtain a check in time on Princess?
skynight replied to HM129's topic in Princess Cruises
You might be able to go to your cabin. They may or may not have the fire doors closed. Some passengers just open the fire doors and head to their cabin. You can carry your carry on around with you, or there probably will be a location to check and hold them. Access to cabins is not determined by loyalty level. If you are in a full suite there is a separate DR. -

10:30 is a good time. There will be crowds at that time. Some people like to avoid crowds. For me the crowds never bother me, I just like to be on board. General boarding should begin around 11am. Once it begins it goes quickly. Your cabin may not be ready until around 1pm. Lunch will be served in one of the DRs, from noon until 1:30. You can also find lunch at the World Fresh Market Place buffet on the Lido deck. The Salty Dog Grill, & Slices Pizza are also there by the pool. On deck 5 in the Piazza you will find the International Cafe. It's another option for a light lunch. There are no charges for these venues. Of course, adult beverages will be available almost everywhere. -

There are no assigned check in times. At most ports and for most cruises check in begins at around 9:30am. Boarding usually begins around 11am. Passengers should be checked in by 90 minutes before sailing time. What port are you sailing from and what is your sailing time? -
Tips Washer and dry tokens available in the laundry rooms via vending machine. You use your medallion to purchase. Suggest you purchase sometime in advance before you actually need them. Sometimes the token machines are empty. Irons are no charge.

Are you permitted to do this when you have the plus fare which includes internet? Seems like you would be purchasing and being charged for a 4 device plan when you already have two devices included in the fare.
-
My experience is similar to what others have mentioned. I carry mine in my pocket and have no issues. It's really no different than carrying a cruise card. Most times the reader location system works. More times than not in lounges and at bars the waiter requested my cabin number. You do have to tap the medallion going on and off the ship and at casino slots. At casino table games the pit boss requires your medallion if you ask to charge chip purchase to your onboard account. On my last cruise I noticed that after 4 or 5 days the medallion was not working very well. It was a weak battery. I visited passenger services and they provided me with a new one.

Log into the Princess web site. Select 'My Account'. Your member number should be there on the top of the page.

I'm not thinking about the teen sharing. The teen would have internet access all the time. It's the adults that would share. Do both adults require internet all the time. I know in my case I only access the internet occasionally.
-
The teen can sign in on their device as one of you. Then the two adults will have a one internet package. It will only affect your access to the internet. It will not affect you ability to use the on board itntAnet.
-
Yes. You can purchase using the Princess App, or you can fill out an order form and drop it at the Future Cruise Sales department. Thee was a drop box on my last cruise. You can book cruises on board. You will receive the same benefit of the $100 deposit plus the OBC as if you used an FCD. Personally I like to just purchase the FCDs and then search for the cruise(s) once at home and away from the cruise ship "high".

While I'm certain you can work it out that does not excuse Princess from just another example of poor customer service. Their programs are just atrocious. The staff just doesn't know what they are doing.

I have seen flip flops in the DR.
