  1. Well it is why we stick with one line. We found one we liked and stayed to reach the point where we would get some extra perks. So yes some actually do. Especially those of us that can't afford to cruise often. Obtaining Diamond allows us to have some extra perks that save us a little money. Like the free drinks.
  2. Yeah this is BS. Sorry but we put in the time/ money ect to finally make diamond and then they rake the perks away. I get pinnacle did too but they shouldn't take away from one to give to the next. It's like saying we really don't care about your loyalty. So what happens when they put a step above pinnacle? When we started out Diamond was the highest level. So will pinnacle care when they add another step and start taking perks away from them?
  3. Oh this is why I wish I were retired! But I have to wait a few more years.
  4. Never had 2 booked at once but many years ago we did do 2 in one year. It is an amazing feeling. Now we do 1 every few years. We just made Diamond so our August cruise will be our first as Diamond. Congrats on your double cruise life πŸ˜†.
  5. Years ago we were on a cruise with a small group. The kids ( early 20's) went over put a few coins in and won over $400! I was mad lol I goof with that all the time and never win more than a dollar or 2.
  6. We're thinking the same way. We don't cruise until August but we're fine with what ever we get honestly we already have 2 beach days if this stop comes back so if it doesn't we'd be just as happyπŸ˜‰. I booked the cruise for Grand Cayman any way since we got married there while cruising on FOS.
  7. This looks interesting and I'd love to book it but it's still just shy of $100 a person. Has anyone done this tour and what do you think a good price is? We're still 5 months out hoping it goes down at least another $10 pp.
  8. I've never been a hit tub person. Sitting in hot steamy water with a bunch of others doesn't sound fun. Then again I prefer a shower over a bath. My sister has had a got tub for many years and I think I briefly went in it once lol. I watched a family sit in one for HOURS with a baby!! Took baby out layed him on the side changed his poopy diaper and put him back in.
  9. I've actually had a very bad asthma attack in church froma woman who was wearing very strong perfume in front of me. I excused myself and left to go inhale my medicine. I had to be driven home. Yup not just cigarettes
  10. Sorry but telling them to stay on the ship was a bit rude!
  11. And drunk people act up and make some things very uncomfortable. I'vehad a man walk into me and spill his drink on me. But no one complains. I'm just saying it isn't for us to judged what someone else enjoys. No need for rude comments. I see it more and more on these boards where if an opinion is different there are lots of rude Remarks. I remember when these boards were helpful.
  12. I don't understand why non smokers have to be so mean when answering. I don't smoke and I have asthma but that doesn't give me the right to be mean or judge what others enjoy. I don't drink but I don't complain about the drunk people. When I was young smoking was done in hospitals, restaurants and every where in between. Just be glad it's not like that anymore. To the OP just find the designated areas and stay away from grumpy people.
  13. You can do a cash account. We have never put a card down. We put cash on our account once on board. They let you charge so much to your account then let you know when you need to put more on. We have always done it this way. No bill once vacation is over and we're already sad to go back to realityπŸ˜‰
  14. Yes this! I read an article that they are starting to Crack down on people parking them in the hallway. It's become a hazard. Both for getting out in an emergency and for the crew that need to get their carts through the hallways.
  15. We get dressed up for dinner each night. Including formals for formal night so we bring lots of clothes. I don't do laundry on vacation call me lazy but it's only 7 days and I pack enough. We bought the magnetic hooks and still never used them. I do pack a ton of sunscreen and take all my own toiletries. My hair would break off if I used that jail house all in one lol. I did get 2 cheap floats to use on the islands so I don't have to rent them ( I paid less for the 2 than I would to rent one) I'lluse them to lay on and snorkle, i bring my own snorkle gear too. I always have medicines , I have IBS so only God knows what is going to send my stomach into a frenzy haha I bring stuff to "stop" & stuff to "go" πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†. Also my hubby gets bad indigestion ever since having his gallbladder removed so gotta pack his pills. Other than that a floppy sun hat, a couple wristlets for carrying things in the evening, a beach bag for the pool. Nothing spectacular.
  16. It's a super long shot but I hope we don't go here in August. I don't want the people of Haiti to suffer...I just want to go to a better port lol. But when I booked, the cruise was at a date I could go and a price I could afford πŸ™ƒ
  17. We don't drink alcohol so I'm using mine in August for milkshakes and fresh Oj things like that. So all I purchased was a soda package for me and a Refreshment pkg for hubby. I'll use all 8 diamond coupons πŸ˜…
  18. Because these people have no food and there are people walking around eating buffet with money on their pockets. When you have nothing you'll do alot for a little.
  19. It would depend on the event. If the grid goes down, credit cards won't matter. And refunds wouldn't be able to be given. They would probably get you to the nearest safe port. But if it were another kind of event who knows. They would probably get as close to the port the cruise was supposed to end at.
  20. I always figure I could worry about every what if...or I could just live my life. Seriously you can't prepare if you don't know what kind of "event" it would be and definitely not on vacation. I'd look into good insurance but other than that if it's a real crisis like the grid goes down the last thing you'll be worried about is a cruise.
  21. Exactly. I feel as though they have a responsibility to warn me of things that they know of as in hey there is a travel advisory for this area. But not hey here is a list of everything that could possibly go wrong in every place you go. Some things have to be chalked up as use your own sense. Pretty soon you'll have to sign a disclaimer every time you leave the ship. It's sad anytime there is an accident but you can't sue over every bad decision you make that goes ..well...bad.
  22. Wow and I thought I got taken for a ride. Only reason I even had a lawyer is because when I was in the hospital a family member contacted a lawyer. I wouldn't even known to do that. I was in too bad of shape to think about it.
  23. I thought if you weren't in need of an accessible cabin you either couldn't book it OR they would bump you to another cabin if they had a request for it.
  24. It's not about the family. The lawyers get a huge percentage of the settlement. I got in a car accident, a 26 yr old went through a stop sign from a side road and slammed into my truck pushing me off the road. I broke my hip, femur, and shattered my heel. 3 surgeries, 9 months to be able to walk. I got a settlement but the lawyer took 33.3%. It wasn't a big settlement but dang he took a lot of it. So it's about how much the lawyers can make. For me i was left with enough to buy a used car ...couldn't even afford to replace what I had.
  25. I think it's people like me who have been cruising for many years that remember much better food. The kind you got excited about. It's not that the food now is horrible. It's that when you compare it to what use to be served It's very disappointing!
