  1. We will be sailing on the Symphony this summer with our son his spouse and their three year old daughter. We will all be in suites. Can the 3 year old use the suite lounge? Probably won't really be interested, but can she?
  2. Have sailed on the Edge and b/2/b Apex both in sky suites. The ship is fabulous. Loved the speciality restaurants. However, we rely also love the silhouette and reflection. We will be on the Silhouette for the third time, in January- You cannot go wrong with either ship. Love the lawn club grill on the Silhouette and Reflection, and Eden on the E class ships. Pick the itinerary that suits you best and the price! Enjoy.
  3. Nope! Perks wonderful for suites. Imo aq not worth additional
  4. My DH is also a scientist, not a microbiologist- and hates buffets- and leaving meat and other perishables out without refrigeration. We do not know how long items are left out in the restaurants either, and hope we have strong immune systems!
  5. If you drink more then 5-6 alcoholic drinks per day- maybe you might consider a package- However Casitas aren't at all necessary- you have the suite deck- The casitas are typically surrounded by many chairs and in the sun. Spend your money on other perks such as dinner at a speciality restaurant. Enjoy your cruise.
  6. I am sure you will enjoy the ship. However older and doesn't have all of the same amenities as the newer ships. You should consider booking an Oasis class ship to get the real flavor of Royal. If you do on board, you will get a good rate and if you want move to your TA for additional perks. Enjoy your cruise.
  7. Have done Royal suites on S class ships. But heard that E class also great.
  8. If you contact Delta immediately they will allow you to change your flight- however, if the new flight costs more, you pay it!
  9. We have sailed twice in a Royal Suite. Loved the experience. The bathroom and 1/2 are wonderful! The actually cabin is very large and so much storage- we loved it! Unfortunately cannot afford on a regular basis- but for a special occasion so worth it! We had a bath on the balcony- but didn't use it. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. Have a great cruise. I think you will be very happy sailing on Celebrity vs. NCL. You are in for a better experience. IMO much more upscale and the ships are easy to navigate. The public spaces are designed so much more logical. I do not think a short cruise will give you the true flavor of sailing on Celebrity. If you can, when on board, book a future cruise on an Edge class ship. Enjoy.
  11. We had been in AQ a few times and found the persian garden a waste- tried it once- nothing special and we never used it again. Enjoy S and E class ships- but no longer AQ.
  12. This is why we always fly in at least a day before the cruise. Cannot rely on airlines being on time.
  13. The Boat House restaurant behind the hotel is excellent- beautiful with great seafood and steaks. Its overlooking the canal. Our favorite on Los Olas.
  14. Due to my DH's occupation, we can only sail certain times during the year- perhaps it is time to try Virgin! We really love Royal and Celebrity.
  15. Delta sends us many notifications. Sometimes a flight is changed bu a couple of minutes. Crazy
  16. Airlines are worse- if a ship excursion you don't have to worry about the ship sailing without you.
  17. Would be nice if Royal had a week with no kids under 18 were allowed. Like Virgin Voyages. We were on an Oasis cruise last August full of kids. They were not at all supervised. Sitting in elevators and pushing every button. Running in hallways, shouting and going nuts. Some parents think well its their vacation also, so don't bother me. So sad that people behave without regard to others. Who cares if the solarium bistro is reserved-so many other options on a cruise ship. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. If you stayed at a precruise hotel, or sat in an airline seat- bed bugs do travel. So how can you be sure it was from the ship? Also the exterminators make lots of money using the dogs. House fumigation is expensive and very inconvenient. Also many other insects bite. We were in Florida and walked every day by a grassy area- I got many, I believe flea bites, on my legs. Also got bites once on a shore x from sand fleas in Haiti at Labadee beach. Bring bug spray for all beach shore x's.
  19. We truly love the restaurants in and around Los Olas- right by the Riverside and in the Hotel. Will check out the Hyatt Centric for another cruise as we are booked and want to stay at the Riverside in January. But have other cruises planned. Will walk over to the Hyatt and check it out.
  20. How is the ship in general? We will be on her in about 6 weeks.
  21. Yes, they opened the unlimited dining on some sailings. However, I still haven't reserved the time or restaurant yet. That is typically done after we board the ship
  22. We sail in suites and the luggage comes typically by 3. We have gotten a piece later- so we always bring our dinner clothes in our carry on- Some people enjoy swimming as soon as they board and also carry swimming clothes.
  23. I believe so. But call to ask- may have special rooms. The ship cabins have carpeting- not only in cabins, but in most public spaces. How do you handle?
  24. We typically stay at the Riverside on Los Olas before our ft. Lauderdale cruises- How was the Hyatt Centric? Good location?
