  1. Done all the time. Unfortunately (for some) sickness or tragedy occur a couple of days before, or the day of the cruise, and a cabin/suite may become available
  2. Probably 48 hours in advance. You will probably get an onboard credit for the amount .
  3. Revolutionized is a big deal. The summit appears much cleaner and brighter then the Constellation. Especially noticed are the bright well decorated staterooms.
  4. My DH and I are considering an MSC cruise- in the Yacht club. Celebrity and Royal pricing for suites is getting off the charts. However, after your issues, I am not sure I would sail on them. Perhaps we will no longer sail in suites.
  5. Glad you had a great cruise! When will the ship go to dry dock? The summit was redone and is now bright, especially the sky suites- any idea about when she will be refurbished? Thanks
  6. If you buy package then cancel on board you will probably get onboard credit. Not a refund. I called to cancel my unlimited dining plan and rebook, but was told if I cancel I might not be able to rebook as the plans for unlimited dining for my sailing were all booked up. So we decided to just leave alone
  7. We have had the unlimited specialty dining package on many celebrity ships. Will be on silhouette again next week. With the package, the only issue can be time of the reservation. If it isn't available, you need to be flexible and book when you board. We typically do not have a problem, but might have to vary dining times and rotate restaurants. I plan on the restaurant and the day, but sometimes must adjust- Never had a real problem.
  8. looks like that guy is wearing his undies! lol
  9. It’s a nice place to enjoy a drink and talk to friends. Snacks also available. The afternoon tea is also enjoyable. When we want more we enjoy the martini bar or cafe al baccio. But the retreat is also enjoyable
  10. I bring some of my good jewelry- as some said- why own it if you can't wear and enjoy it? However when I go on Shore X's, I leave the good jewelry in the ship safe.
  11. The Magic Carpet sky suites aren't as popular as the regular S1's and S2's. Typically more available- enjoy your cruise.
  12. Honestly as a person who doesn't watch any "big games" I would find it annoying- the game should be watched using your iPad, phone and earbuds so as not to intrude upon other people trying to enjoy the relaxation of the lounge. They also have venues with TVs.
  13. IMO if you picked a nice well located regular balcony cabin, stay put and save your money. If you want to move up to a sky suite or above- worth it for the suite loounge, priority perks and suite deck.
  14. We mostly dine in specialty restaurants- but breakfast in Luminae. We typically give a few dollars extra for each meal. Not everyone does- your call.
  15. Your tour looked interesting. However my DH would starve. He will not eat seafood of any kind. Not for us. Glad you had a great time.
  16. We loved our Apex cruise! Was the window washing equipment in front of your balcony the entire trip? We did a b/2/b on her last January. The suite lounge/deck are a 10! Loved it- only negative comment is not enough shaded areas. So we got up on deck early to find a shady spot. Enjoy your cruise- thanks for sharing. We loved Eden, try to dine their.
  17. I suggest that you get a notorized letter from the minors parents allowing you to travel with the child. I even brought a note when traveling with our grandchild. Nobody asked to see it- but we had it.
  18. Good luck with your upgrade The suite life is wonderful! While I definately prefer a sky suite on the opposite side of the deck from the magic carpet, I do not think it will interfer with your enjoyment of the suite. Congratulations. We have a bid in for a royal or celebrity suite from a sky suite on an S class ship next week and are anxiously awaiting our results. Since the cruise apparently has been booked for a few weeks, doubtful we will get any upgrade. As long as we are in any suite, we are happy!
  19. For that matter you don't need to be on a cruise ship. Beaches, 5 star hotels, shopping, shows and fine dining are available in many states in the USA. But it is nice to have a opportunity to enjoy all of these amenities on a cruise.
  20. Nope. Toll prices never come down after bridges have more then been paid for. Cruise prices will not either
  21. We are also seniors. Loved cococay. So many more areas to choose from. We also did the beach club which was wonder. Our next royal cruise will stay in adults only area
  22. My ds owns a vacation club plan at disney. But the price for a pass in obscene for many. He is a “Disney freak”. We go occasionally with him and his spouse but imo not worth it. You pay for cheesy food and long lines. But clearly many love it
