Hi My family-9 of us including four children- are booked on Norwegian Breakaway for a med cruise in August 23. We usually go with P and O or Princess but wanted a ship that has more activities for the children. I gather that smoking is allowed inside in the midship casino, that there are no doors so the smell of cigarette smoke permeates that deck and and a number of outside areas. So that’s a real concern to the extent we won’t now be taking the cruise ; there’s nothing like a group of ex smokers for abhorring the smell! Can anyone advise me of the situation on other NCL ships? The best one to sail on for a non smoker? It’d be good if we could transfer rather than forfeit the deposit🙃

I didn’t know there was a kids disco…..where would we find the timetable for kids events? Are they posted somewhere or would my son access these after they are signed up for the kids club? Are there other child specific entertainments?

That’s very good news thank you. It could be that they’ll prefer to go to the Horizon and pick bits themselves but it will be lovely to have one dinner where we can all dress up!

Hi Although I’ve been on a number of cruises, our next one in August on Iona is the first in school holidays with grandkids. So, apologies if this is a daft question but where do kids eat in the evening? I honestly can’t remember seeing any in MDR but is that just parents’ choice?

Hi we’re on a cruise with Princess, arriving at Puntarenas on 9 November. The most popular tour on tripadvisor seems to be to Isla Tortuga, 90 mins from Puntarenas by catamaran and 5 hours ashore. It’s an appealing alternative to the rainforest tours etc which entail quite long periods on a coach and are often reviewed as disappointing - over touristy, little wildlife seen etc The island trip isn’t offered as a ship excursion; maybe there’s a good reason for that! Has anyone been on the tour?
