Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Ok, I am getting a little nervous and hope you all can help! We booked a last minute cruise to the Bahamas and are checked in and received our e-tickets. I was just reading on the MSC and it says our passports must be valid for at least six months. My son’s passport expires in 3 months. Can he travel with his birth certificate and driver’s license? It is a closed loop cruise from the US and we are US citizens. In years past we have at times traveled with birth certificates and IDs, is this still acceptable? Has anyone traveled recently with MSC specifically with just a birth certificate and ID? I have made an appointment at a passport agency but it is over 2 hours away and only a few days before the cruise and it will ease my mind to know that if something goes wrong there, he could use his BC and ID to get on the ship. I will also call MSC tomorrow to see what they say. Thank you!
  2. Are taxis and Ubers readily available at debarkation at the port these days? We sailed from Port Canaveral last month and there weren’t any taxis available. Hoping this isn’t also the case at Port Everglades this month.
  3. Does anyone know what the current early and late dining times are on Liberty?
  4. Hi, Does anyone know what brand of water is used for the water bottle package on Liberty of the seas?
  5. We got off the Freedom yesterday. If you are using the Royal app, you need to connect to the ship’s wifi (free) to use it. We were all in airplane mode and able to text each other and friends and family back home without paying for the internet package. We have iPhones.
  6. We booked last minute and the excursions we are interested in are sold out (not surprisingly) - does Royal hold back any spots for booking onboard or should I start looking elsewhere?
  7. We were on Oasis a couple of weeks ago and the Solarium Bistro was closed for dinner. It had let us make a dinner reservation online prior to the cruise but they didn't end up being open for dinner at all during our cruise. We never received a notification or anything that it was closed so we were left scrambling for dinner that night.
  8. We booked a few weeks out and got a 2:30 check in time. I have read conflicting info on whether or not suites are allowed to check in up to an hour earlier than their assigned time and also whether or not junior suites are included in this perk. Has anyone had recent experience with this sailing on Oasis out of Miami in a Jr suite? Also is there a separate line for suites and are Jr suites included in that? Thanks so much, can’t wait to get on board!
