  1. I’ve sailed on Star, Golden (with Skywalkers) and Grand twice (no Skywalkers). One of my favorites was Alfredo’s. LOVE their pizza! I’ll miss it when we sail on Ruby. ☹️
  2. I prefer the balcony side, too. But it sure wouldn’t keep me from cruising if I didn’t work out that way. 😆
  3. On the Grand in 2017 the bed in our mini suite was on the right as you enter the cabin. In 2019 on the same ship, our bed also in a mini suite, was on the left. I prefer that since I sleep on the right side of the bed looking up from the foot. That way I was closer to the balcony with more open space.
  4. We rebooked our 8/21 Alaskan sailing from SF to 8/22. Since it’s 10 days, Princess already canceled it, anyway.
  5. We rebooked our 8/21 10 day Alaskan cruise out of SF for a year later in 8/22. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
  6. My TA rebooked us on the Ruby Princess from SF to Alaska for August 2022. Princess had cancelled our 8/21 cruise because it was 10 days. The Best Sale Ever promo was applied, plus one free specialty dining for both of us. Same as last time, but with the added dining. No category upgrade because were in Club Class. It’s about $400+ more, but when we get our FCC later, that will take off another $200. And of course, our original deposit will be applied to our fare. There is a bit a rainbow at the end of the storm, because we now will get to see Glacier Bay. And it’s booked just a day be
  7. If these prices are correct, our cruise will be over $711 for both of us. Hmmmm. I sure hope this is NOT the base pricing! We’re counting on the three perks—free WiFi, gratuities and drink/coffee package. We had that in our 2021 cruise ( as a promo. Not built into pricing.) $700 + seems like a chunk of $$$.
  8. I heard that it might be a vaccine that we’ll get annually like the flu vaccine.
  9. At least when we cruised to Alaska in 2005 it wasn’t warm enough to sit out on the pool deck. But, we don’t want to wear a mask elsewhere on the ship, either. We do it willingly here at home when we’re out and about. We understand that we need to do our part to help get this virus under control. However, it’s not something we want to do on vacation. So, I guess that means we’ll just have to wait.
  10. We rarely take any excursions. We prefer to just stroll around town on our own. When we were in Alaska in 2005 we took two inexpensive excursions, I know one was through the cruiseline. So, they won’t allow passengers to NOT take excursions of any type? In other words, if we choose to walk around town they won’t let us get off the ship?
  11. Our cruise is out of SF to Alaska in August 2021. So, it just seems prudent to postpone it for a year. My husband said if we’re going to cruise, he wants the full experience as we’ve been accustomed to.
  12. All this protocol validated my reasons for postponing our August 2021 cruise to 2022. We love cruising but we’re not that desperate to get back. The ocean and ships will to be there waiting for us when this virus is under control or eradicated. I just hope the cruise lines don’t choose to keep some of this protocol in place. Sure, they can continue to keep things sanitized and clean. But, I would hope the social distancing, mask wearing and limited passengers in venues will NOT be the norm. Same with being able to walk off the ship on our own.
  13. Having a vaccine and assuring that enough people are vaccinated are two different things. They might also bring them out in phases; first responders and senior citizens, etc. Also, I’m reading where there could be a two-vaccine series at least 30 days apart. Who knows. So, for me, it’s not worth the uncertainty. Maybe if we could cancel without penalty a week before, but anything could happen in 60 days. In the meantime, we’ll rebook the train trip to the Grand Canyon for 2021 that we canceled this year. And then we can celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2022 year on Princess! Fingers
