We will be arriving by cruise ship on Oct. 21st and staying overnight. We would like to do a dinner cruise and show. Does anyone have any firsthand recommendations? We need to know where we will be picked up and dropped off. Have read some reviews on Trip Advisor where people got stranded after the cruise. Also there are many choices on Trip Advisor but all say they will pick up at "our hotel." Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

This came from another Cruise Critic person who spoke to someone who was just in Skagen. “The walk from the boat to the entrance of the port (it is a little fishing place not a big one like Copenhagen) is 10 minutes. Turn right onto Vestre Standvej (the boats are on your right) and walk 5 minutes and there is a pick up and drop off spot for the Grenen bus opposite the Vinoble Wine Shop which has a bike rental next door. I think the cost was 50dkk per person return and that takes you to the Bunker Museum where you can pay to ride on the tractor bus out to where the seas meet. The buses are cash only and you pay the driver.”

We are on the same cruise with you, Ruth, and have spent the last 2 days so frustrated trying to find a somewhat reasonably-priced hotel in Athens for 2 nights prior to the cruise. They are all booked! What's going on? We tried Athens Gate, Hera Hotel, etc.; all solidly booked. The ones available want $500+/night which is too much for our wallet or had something wrong with them. We finally booked the Athens Key Hotel. The problem is none of the tour operators have it on their list for hotel pickup and drop off for tours which is why we are staying in Athens for 2 nights. So we had to list a nearby hotel for pickup for our tours! Good luck to you finding a room. JONI
