  1. I see no reason to quarantine the ship for any length of time. We have procedures already in place similar to the repatriation of Diamond Princess passengers. Their plane landed at Ministry of Defence base Boscombe Down, near Salisbury, and passengers were taken by road to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral for 14 days of quarantine to protect against the spread of the illness should any of them be infected.
  2. Good morning NH. Thank you for that comprehensive detail which is totally in line with comments made on fb groups by members also remaining onboard.
  3. Err yes, an interesting point and maybe one that may answer some criticisms being levelled by those still remaining onboard.
  4. Hi BlueRiband. I guess we could debate these issues and variations till the cows come home and each of us could offer alternatives. While Cunard will always see me returning it has certainly seen me branching out and trying new cruise lines as there became a distinct lack of itinerary variety and actually continuing 'same-same' to the life onboard: though of course I realise that is perfectly acceptable to some folk who maybe lack the initiative to look elsewhere. My wife and I had already decided to lessen the cruise elements of our 4/5 yearly vacations in favour of a more shore-side balance with even less unpacking. But as I say, cruising is still in my DNA. Best wishes to you all in the Big Apple. Our thoughts are with you.
  5. Just picked up minutes ago from a friend on one of my fb groups, the Grand Lady has departed Durban... It must be true, it was on their stateroom television.... Arriving Southampton 08.00 am Tuesday 14 April.
  6. I really like that post, particularly the line....'Buffets are not the problem people are'.... Personally I avoid 'buffets like the plague' with just one exception, Hapag-Lloyd's Europa 2 - which was actually only masquerading as a buffet. Indeed, this time last year I was a trifle horrified when, on Queen Victoria, even the Grills had to use The Lido on two occasions if one wanted to get ashore early.
  7. Nope, as with the Ventura which returned earlier this morning, they were discharging 'Grey' water into the channel.
  8. And passing Solent Towers... ...with a cheeky little kiss for Allure of the Seas... No hiding place Royal Caribbean... Such excitement on the Solent during this morning's balcony coffee break. 😁 😄
  9. Good morning Tomvet. As you were my inspiration in your umpteen reviews to try MSC, and in particular their Pizzas... I thought it only fair to let you know how my wife and I fared on our first MSC cruise, 14 nights onboard MSC Preziosa... https://solentrichardscruiseblog.com/2020/03/25/msc-preziosa-yacht-club-experience/ You will recall that we can't be bothered looking for savings every angle of cruising which certainly adds to one's enjoyment. Yes, we enjoyed it so much that we have now booked another MSC cruise and having transferred our Cunard loyalty under the MSC transfer scheme We definatley are MSC Now. 😄 😄
  10. Queen Victoria just passing Cowes on her way to 'lay-up' for the duration of the current crisis. Are you still onboard Bell Boy? I'll wager you are so pleased you made it for that amazing cruise around South America.
  11. Well done MaggieMou. Together we had her covered - especially with so many of our good friends onboard.
  12. Well done you. Though that was the one reason that I remembered Seabourn can fall short.
  13. A yacht Club experience would have been out of their depths Pete. 😄😈
  14. A quote from one of my fb groups..."Are we making history at dinner time in Britannia Restaurant tonight"?
