  1. Oh, I didn't know we don't have to pay at time of booking, but pay at the end of dinner. Thanks.
  2. After getting on the ship, I want to use my OBC to book specialty dinner for myself and another person (in different cabin). Can I use my OBC to pay for the specialty dinner for the other person also?
  3. For our upcoming cruise, I have a lot of OBC and my sister (different cabin) does not have any OBC. After we get on the ship, can I book specialty dinners for the two of us using my OBC? If okay to do that, do I need to go to Guest Service or the specialty dining room to make the reservations and the charges?
  4. Just to make sure I will have no problem using my U.S. Visa card (have chip but no PIN) to pay for my Sydney hotel at check-in, I emailed the hotel and asked. Their reply "This is to confirm we could accept your US card without a PIN". Besides the hotel charges, I am almost sure I will not have any single purchases of $200+. So I am good. Thank you everyone for suggestions and information.
  5. Hi Ombud, Thanks for answering my questions yesterday. I have one more question that I forgot to ask yesterday. In your case of "once complete the 1st one, your 2nd one was loaded to your account", did you know ahead that you will get 2 packages? In other words, were you told by Room Service you will get 2 packages when you called in to trade your mini-bar?
  6. Thanks. My next cruise will be on the Majestic on April 4. I will find out if Majestic will give 2 packages for solo passenger's mini bar trade. Hopefully so.
  7. In April I will be doing a b2b on Majestic, also booked solo. 1st segment, 5 days and 2nd segment, 22 days. On the 1st segment, I will request my mini-bar trade for coffee package, lets see if I will get one or two package. Hopefully I will get 2 packages, then I will have 30 coffee for my total 27 days. If so, then for my 2nd segment, I can trade in for 20 Perrier water.
  8. How long ago were you on Discovery? I was on Discovery just 2 months ago and they only gave me one package.
  9. I was on Discovery only 2 months ago when I was told only one package per customer per mini-bar trade.
  10. Yes, I remember reading your post regarding you gotten 2 coffee pkgs as a solo, and the 2nd one loaded once the 1st one completed. When I was told on my November's Discovery Princess cruise that I will only get one pkg, I told them I read on CC (your post) what you said. But both RS and IC told me it has always been Princess' policy for mini bar trade-in, it is one coffee pkg of 15-specialty coffee per passenger.
  11. It was a "150%" rate and not "200%". I did bring that up and was told cabin rate does not make a difference. The policy is maximum of 1 package per person per sailing. I remember reading on CC, so I told the IC manager, that I read on a past post on CC, the poster said she "booked a solo cabin, trade-in for coffee package, got one package to begin with, after she finished her 15 specialty coffee, her account was immediately credited with another 15 specialty coffee". The IC manager told me that is not the Princess policy, and didn't know why that person got a 2nd card loaded.
  12. Two months ago I booked solo on Discovery Princess on b2b. There were the usual 20 items in my cabin. I called to trade in for coffee package. Only one 15 specialty coffees was loaded to my account. I asked Room Service why I only got 1 coffee package and not 2? I told them in the past when I booked the cabin with 2 passengers, the same 20 items in the cabin when we arrived, and when called to trade-in, each of us were given a 15-coffee package. Room Service told me the rule is one package per passenger. I asked at International Cafe and were told the same thing. Only 1 package per customer. So, for the 2nd cruise of my b2b cruise, I traded in my 20 items for that cruise and also was only given one 15 specialty coffee package.
  13. Hopefully Enchanted will be doing the Transatlantic starting on April 6, 2024.
  14. Is Enchanted Princess scheduled for drydock in April 2024? Still don't see where Enchanted Princess will be in April 2024. My 20 day cruise on Enchanted ends on 4/6/24, and if the segment after my cruise is the TransAtlantic, then I would like to book it.
  15. Last April, I visited Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, and Italy; visited Mexico in November. In each of those countries, I made purchases (some over $200) with my U.S. Citibank card and Capital One card. I was never asked for PIN. All just tap and sign. For my upcoming cruise in April, I will only have one day in Sydney and 3 port stops in NZ. Besides paying for the Sydney hotel, most likely all other purchases should be under $200, so I am not going to bother getting a PIN, and take the chance of the purchases being taken as Cash Advance. I am sure the hotel will figure out the way to get my money without a PIN. Thank you to every one for the information and suggestions!!
  16. Earlier, I called Citi bank and Capital One, both banks told me if I plan to do Cash Advance on my credit cards, then I need to request PIN, otherwise, I do not need PIN. If I use PIN, it will be consider as cash advance and not a credit card purchase. I definitely do not want cash advance.
  17. It depends on the merchants. For major shops, for example, Costco, large chain dept stores/pharmacy/supermarkets, I only need to tap. Smaller shops/restaurants, might need to tap and sign. Did several cruises last year in the Mediterranean and Mexico, and used both cards with no problems.
  18. I don't know if there is a limit. The most I ever charged for one transaction was around $10,000 for Princess cruise, and were never asked for PIN.
  19. I don't have PIN on my any of my credit cards and never been asked. I used my credit cards for all my purchases in 70+ countries that I visited and never had problems. After reading prior posts that I need PIN in Australia and NZ, I called Citi bank and Capital One, and both banks told me if I plan to do Cash Advance on my credit cards, then I need to request PIN, otherwise, I do not need PIN. If I use PIN, it will be consider as cash advance.
  20. I use Citibank Visa card and Capital One Visa card for all my international travels. Both cards have chips. I use both cards as credit card and not debit card. I do not have pin for both cards and never been asked to put in pin number when I used the cards. So, to use those cards in Australia and NZ, I need to call my bank and find out if I can set pin numbers on those cards?
  21. I checked out the site. It appears there is no monthly fee if the checking account is linked to the brokerage account. That mean I need to open a checking acct and a brokerage acct? Currently, I use Capital One for international travel. There is no monthly service fee and no foreign fee and no Capital One ATM fee. But if the local ATM charges a fee for ATM, then I will have to pay. Of all years of my international travels, only twice I was charged an ATM fee by the local banks, and that was from my recent travel to Mexico.
  22. $20 is USD? Did you pay with U.S. cash? If not, the food trucks accept credit card? Or must have local cash currency? We will be there in April 2023. Thank you.
