  1. We once organised for our 2 week cruise with P&O to be extended with a 2 day stay in Malta before we sailed when we were on Oceana. The hotel and flights should have been pre cruise and organised by P&O, with the flights on Easyjet. I say, 'should' as Covid hit and we never got to go on that cruise.
  2. That made me laugh ... we love our adt cabin any cruise line and any ship. We even put up with the soot. Enjoy
  3. We've already booked for 2025 and are happy with what we paid. We like to book early as we know the cabins we want. It's like anything really. How many of us have purchased something and then seen it at half the price in the sale? Holidays are no different.
  4. Happy Easter everyone. :-) Here's hoping that the sun will show up again today. Two days in a row !!
  5. We always wipe down the high touch areas in our cabin with the wipes from Serenity and use our knuckles in the loft rather than finger tips. When we first read these tips on CC we thought people were mad, but so far it's kept us OK in terms of norovirus. Having said that we have picked up colds and you know what, but as they are air born there is less you can do about that unless you wear a space suit and you can say that about anywhere where there are other people. Incidentally we also wipe down the tray and arm rests etc in the aeroplane. Something else we never thought we would do ...
  6. We take our own handsaniter called Serenity that was recommended to us by fellow CC members. It is a foam and hospital strength.. if that makes sense .. against most nasty bugs and germs. Think it covers Noro too. It also outs a cover on your hands for about 4 hours... Brilliant stuff and we used it lots during Covid. It's very ethical in terms of animal testing etc too. We carry a small bottle with us when we use the buffet so that we redo our hands before we eat. Thought I'd pass this on again as CC folk we good enough to pass this info on to us many moons ago. https://shop.serenityhygiene.com/ 😉
  7. Decided to go up to Mowcop this morning on the way home.from church. The views were incredibly clear and the skies awesome. There were rainbows everywhere. If you zoom in you'll see massive rainbow colours in the skies in the distance. Been a lovely day here despite some heavy showers.
  8. Thanks for the history lesson, but I still don't get how it relates to my comments about not wanting Easter to become the spending frenzy / major stress etc that Christmas is....
  9. On our cruise ironically we thought the same as you as that were so many loud southerners, but on one night in the Epicurean there was one party from the North who were so loud the whole restaurant revolved around them. It seemed to be people from all over the UK. What is wrong with people? Do they not have manners or think of others ?????
  10. Oh, please God, no ! Easter is by far our favourite festival and love it because it is not so commercialised. Can live with my Easter Egg and the chicks and lambs etc etc, but let's not turn it into the frenzy that Christmas has become ...... imagine doing all that again twice a year in terms of the Christmas 'mayhem' ....
  11. Am going to say this and duck for cover but if people are really struggling I find it odd that they spend thousands on a cruise. What exactly does struggling mean? It should mean having what you can afford and not what you want but in today's world I don't think it does. I want to go on a Celebrity Edge cruise again but we can't afford the prices they are charging at the moment. Does this mean that Celebrity need to dumb down their offer for me? Sadly no .. we have to save up and see if our circumstances change.
  12. To be honest, from experience, not a lot. Can't comment on the children's stuff but can't remember there being much at all on our 2 Easter cruises. There has been a Sunday morning service in the theatre led by the Captain with a few traditional hymns. One was 'Those in peril on the sea' ------ have to smile, it made us chuckle ! Nothing really special - I suppose in the UK Christmas is seen as the main festival, not Easter. Easter in the UK is, for most, just Easter eggs, Easter bunnies and .... errrr ... a nice weekend break (and fingers crossed that the weather will be good). P&O just follow this format in that Easter isn't that big a thing for them ---- If that makes sense.
  13. The weather may not be wonderful but the sun came out today to say hello and the views from Rhos on Sea and now Llanddulas were and are stunning. From lovely North Wales.
  14. Thanks for this, it is really interesting. Our first cruise was on OV2 - I thought that OV1 was like a car ferry?
  15. Well, we've had windy weather, sunny weather, pouring rain weather, the sun is out and the sky is blue weather ... and now it is hailing .... Am trying to work out which month we are in 🥴
  16. Yes but you need to be more careful than anyone as we know where you live and what your car looks like 😀
  17. I am still scarred emotionally from the time they sold her ... but I'll be nice to you as you are new :-). Just don't mention baked bean tin cans ...........
  18. Beauty is in the eye of beholder ...... and if I remember rightly there were TWO ugly sisters anyway so your comparison doesn't work...... 😉
  19. In shock here today --- the sun is out and the sky is blue ........
  20. Can we have a whip round for Oceana please ............. 😞
  21. So are Seajets selling them on or are they going to be the ships they use? (And Pete14, if you mention baked bean tin cans you may live to regret it 😉 )
  22. You make me feel very lazy now Josy.... better get that skipping rope out ..
  23. Trying to shed weight and retiring doesn't go together eh ... help
