  1. Getting some good laughs from this review. Looking forward to day 4. :) (Especially looking forward to your thoughts on Rock of Ages!)

(To my fellow readers: This kind of reminds me of the book "A Confederacy of Dunces." It sounds like a review written by the main character, Ignatius J. Reilly. If you enjoy the writing style of this review you might enjoy the book.)

I was reading along on this post, and was thinking the very same thing - I'm even picturing Ignatius in my mind's eye!

  2. I guess I'll keep watching. Still about 6 months out. May consider Embassy Suites, but would prefer to book separate rooms. We'd like to be close to French Quarter or good streetcar access. My mother's boyfriend does not walk long distances well, but they've never been to New Orleans before and would like to explore some sights. Would like to keep each room under $150 (including fees) if possible.

  3. I'd love to get the Hilton Riverside for my dates (Jan 13 - 15) but by your description (4* French Qtr/Miss River, tennis nearby) the best rate I can find is $185 a night. I need two rooms, and am debating the wisdom of booking them separately. I guess I'll keep watching.

(And Saint Greg, I've already gleaned a lot of wisdom from your previous posts - thanks!)

Oh, look at that cozy little oceanview...a tight fit for three, and reeking of teenage boy by the end of the trip. But it was a cozy, tight, stinky cabin on a cruise ship!!

We would also like to say thanks to our friends from Belgium from bringing and sharing delicious treats. Thanks Gibbek.

All of the cruise critic activities were a huge success. Thanks to Redbarb23, Gardiner41 and BigEasyCC for organizing all of the activities.

And I second all these thank yous!!

  5. Does anyone no what the layout (for 4) is for Obstructed Ocean View on Jewel cabin 8568. We are traveling in March and I have read they push 2 beds together and then a bunk from the ceiling, but bring in a cot for the 4 th person.

Thought they either had a trundle or second bunk. If anyone has any pictures or ideas please let me know.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your question -

There will only be three of us in my cabin - myself, husband, and son. Does anyone know if we will be able to have the bed pushed together as a queen and then have the pulldown?
