  1. We never take more than one carry-on each...for cruises lasting for as long as 2 weeks. If I were younger and single....I'd probably have multiple outfits per day. But at my age, it's all about comfort and convenience. The Hope Diamond is a lot easier to pack/carry than all kinds of matching/coordinating shoes, and it goes with everything!
  2. Very easy....my main color is black. Everything goes with black. And I bring jewelry...lots of jewelry, from the very cheap to the very expensive, I change the jewelry for the occasion...not the clothing. I can go from gym to elegant in the same outfit....just by changing a pendant!
  3. Welcome aboard! As cancer survivors...we live each day as "a happy day". My motto is...enjoy life now, because there will be a day when you can't enjoy it.
  4. But if it's an upgrade offer...I don't think you get to pick. Maybe I'm wrong. I had one bad experience with a "mystery cabin" and , never again.
  5. If one is using a TA, can you call carnival directly....or does the TA need to make the call?
  6. My friend buys designer bags...and in a couple of months sells them....uses the proceeds to buy new designer bags. When I get tired of my stuff...it's off to Goodwill for them!
  7. I get travel insurance (up to $3000/trip) with mine; and no foreign transaction fees. The insurance is the selling point.
  8. Princess has medallions....they have GPS.
  9. Finding the person isn't a problem...the yc medallion probably has GPS.
  10. I am wondering....if you get a cabin delivery, can you carry it up to the pool yourself? Or will the butler/concierge reprimand you? OP...could you casually ask the concierge?
  11. On our first YC sailing (4/23) the pool deck/food was the best part of the trip. I would have given the sailing 15 stars (out of 10). DH was recovering from surgery, and YC made him feel like a king. At that time they delivered pizza to the pool deck. Fast forward to April 2024, and weather not really cooperating...trip was good...but lacking as compared to the first time. No poolside pizza delivery either! Still booked for 4/25...and hoping Mother Nature cooperates!
  12. OMG....just tell the steward not to disturb you when the sign is up because you are sleeping. No need to report him or have him retrained. On our sailing I didn't feel well the last two days...and I had the "do not disturb" on. The steward knocked...I told him we were fine...and we didn't need his service at that time.
  13. Lucky me.......there's a weekend special that includes OBC....so TA can have that included when he books today! Thanks for all the advice.
  14. Thanks....with us it's simple. Cruise is out of NYC....my home town. DH loved our June 2024 cabin...so I only care about price reductions/obc promos. Anyway....just told TA to book!
  15. Thanks! I' gonna wait and see if they have a Labor Day Sale...and then I'll just book and see what happens. OMG...talking Labor Day already!
  16. Thanks...this is all hypothetical. But I guess it it's "new bookings only"....cancel and rebook.
  17. LOL....I didn't mean an automatic adjustment from Princess. Just wanted to know if one must cancel/rebook....or the booking could be adjusted instead of the extra steps!
  18. Let's say you book a cruise....no special pricing...no obc. And then there's a promo for "OBC" or the price drops.... Does Princess adjust the current booking.....or do you have to cancel and rebook?
  19. My husband is almost 90 and technically challenged. He felt very safe because he knew I could locate him. I told him that if he wanted to find me...just give his phone (or medallion) to any worker....and they'd be able to locate me.
  20. I've has this card for a couple of years. I forget the exact promo....but I got a nice credit after a couple of purchases. Mine includes travel insurance (up to 3k) which is perfect for me. I booked a ccl excursion a couple of days ago...not knowing about the 10% discount, so that was a pleasant surprise. When I booked a Princess cruise...I didn't know I'd get double points...another surprise. And then I used my points towards gift cards. So for me, it works....
  21. We got it on our last cruise. Because we had it...we got stuff we could have done without. DH had one glass of wine/day and a couple of cappuccinos. I had fresh squeezed OJ and coke. Between us...maybe a dozen bottles of water per day. Bottom line....if I were concerned about the cost (I think it's $20/day above wifi and tips), for my purposes, unnecessary. But I want DH to enjoy....and I know he would not get these things if they were a la carte. In OP's case....probably not worth it.
  22. LOL....I could go way off topic here...and quote my old BF from 40 years ago who is now a self-made billionaire.....but I won't! Does it change my experience? No. But if someone pays half of what I pay...I'd ask them "how they did it" and if possible, I'd try to emulate them. Would I book a balcony with the hopes of a YC upgrade? Absolutely not. If they used a different TA...yeah, give me his name/number!
  23. If someone gets the same cabin as you, but for a lot less...or a lot more...the value of your bank account won't change. But the value of your "full price cabin" does go up/down.... dependent upon what others pay. Except for the very rich and the financially irresponsible, people want the best value they can get.
